YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
Met great people, and the staff was amazing
Thanks for the amazing host. I just loved how kind the staff were, how pretty the rooms are and what a nice social hostel it was! For me it was one of the best hostel I ever stayed at! Thanks!
I spent 2 nights in YellowSquare Hostel Florence and had such a good time. The staff is very nice and young, there’s so many people to meet from all around the world. There are activities organised every night to give us the opportunity to make new friends and the common areas are super well equipped: a big outdoors common area with loads of chairs and tables, a pingpong table and a foosball table; a nice indoors area with loads of boarding games to use and share; a big bar with multiple drinks options and nice discounts; a swimming pool on the rooftop; a zen garden… To me, YellowSquare Hostel captured everything that’s important to me when travelling. When I go to a hostel, I expect being greeted with loads of possibilties to meet people whilst still having a nice and clean private space. I was not disappointed. My only critique would be about the location, which I think is a bit far from the city centre – compared to other hostels, and too close to a huge road and railway. When we sit in the outdoors area, it can get pretty noisy which is not very relaxing. I understand these are the cons of being in a city and surely, the location of the hostel, allows the room prices to be lower than if it was in the city centre.
Appart from that, I know that I’ll be able to choose YellowSquare Hostel when going to other cities and be guaranteed to have a good time.
Very nice team!
Perfect location!
Very clean room!
The hostel had a lot to provide its guests with. The space is clean, friendly, modern. There were lots of activities available for guests, and the staff were very helpful. Air conditioning worked super well, and the rooms were pretty quiet. I used ear plugs which helped a lot. Curtains were already put on the beds, and beds themselves were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
The arrangement of the rooms was very cool and I loved the bar downstairs, but toilet had flushing problems and the shower was very small and impractical
overall GREAT GREAT experience, all staff and travellers were super nice. also location is super convenient
When I’m coming to Rome I’m always staying there. Very nice staff . rooms are clean and there is always something to do and meet new friends.
Great facilities – very good air conditioning, bunkbeds with privacy curtain, a kitchen, a lounge type area. Across the road is the bar, in which you can receive one free drink, and daily free pasta and nachos. The hostel is really clean overall.
I think if you are not very outgoing / don’t want to be socially overwhelmed then you can still enjoy your stay at the hostel, which itself is quite private and has quieter spaces (like the lounge). However, since the bar is right opposite, it may be intimidating to socialise in such a busy loud space with alcohol. Great for anyone who loves that type of atmosphere, but otherwise it might be a bit hard to meet people.
Absolutely recommend going to the bar for breakfast – amazing deal for 3.50euro coffee and pastry!
The hostel is great. Really loved the Spaces they have and the people too.
I enjoyed my stay in Florence, everything was good there.
I stayed in a room on the floor 0, and unfortunately, I was right above the club, which I didn’t know until I heard the noise. It was unbelievably loud. It’s surprising that you allow guests to sleep in that room while parties are hosted by the hostel. I think you should reconsider that, and at the very least, be kind and upfront with the guests staying on floor 0 when they check in.
Otherwise, everything was fine, free pasta, the activities, the low-cost towel rentals, and luggage storage are great.
Hostel is good located and they have good bar for hanging out. But I didn’t like the staff, they were not helpful at all. There were a girl when I was doing a check out, she was flirting with the guy there and just ignored my questions so I had to leave without my questions answered. Also, sink in the bathroom was not working.
It was such a nice atmosphere and you get to know so many people, I loved it!
everything was really top! great service, the guys are super helpful and super fast in answering questions via whatsapp. everything was super clean and modern! i booked one night and stay for three bc it was perfect! the location is also great!
Horrible
The prices are great, every day are new activities and events if you feel like it.
It’s not too far from the city center and the staff is incredibly nice & helpful.
Traveling as two people who have never been to a hostel, and only had mediocre experiences respectively. YellowSquare Milano completely changed this for us as it was alot more than just a place to sleep. We were met instantly with smiling faces from both the staff and fellow travelers. After check-in we joined a table of strangers, and quickly got to know each other over a beer, and one of the many events the hostel hosts. After two nights in Milano, we decided to book YellowSquare in Rome for our next stay, instead of a hotel as we had originally planned.
So the sheer amount of accommodation and the experiences you get from your stay, makes it totally worth it in our opinion. 🙂
Literally had the best time ever! Staff was super friendly, the events were LOTS of fun, I met so many amazing friends, the room was really clean and overall it‘s a super modern hostel. Will for sure be back!! The pool was also one of my favourite things about it! Great for socialising:)
The hostel was amazing! It has a pool, a clean and modern kitchen area, many common spaces to work / talk, a rooftop bar, cheap drinks, every room has its own bathroom and the beds have enough space to plug your phone/store everything you need at night. Just amazing!
i liked the engaging into activities that were held every night. Good kitchen, clean rooms and bathrooms.
Best Hostel for socializing and the staff is very helpful
Had some of the most fun in the 2 months ive been in europe!!!! Lovely staff, lots of activities and great way to meet other travellers! Free pasta every night was a life saver for the wallet and my stomach! Only wish the club downstairs was open a few nights a week more! Highly recommend staying here
The stay was super good. The room was really good equipped. Also the bed was so comfortable and everything overall was perfect. Really good hostel. And the free pasta???? PERFECT. Thank you.
Overall was good- beds were clean, nice atmosphere and fun activities, but toilet flooded after showers and stayed wet and there was no bin in the toilet only
under the sink which wasn’t ideal as I needed to dispose of menstrual products. Staff were friendly and helpful and the basement club was good fun.
Very nice staff and the bar area were also very nice to hang out and I liked events a lot
I loved your bar, terrace, tennis table, smiling staff, automatic washing machines, pool… I really want to come back, just to stay in the hostel!!!
Most fun I’ve ever had in my life. Staff were amazing too.
The most perfect hostel! Such a lively, social atmosphere. The rooms + facilitates were spotless. There are so many amenities, game tables, chill out spots and even their own bar! The bar was so social, such a great spot for meeting new people. Also lots of organised events. Slightly out of the way for visiting the heart of Rome, but it was such a good experience that it didn’t matter.
I had the worst experience in this place.
Very clean and tidy. Staff are at the reception 24/7 and can help with literally any request you might have. Shoutout to Laura, the sweetest and kindest receptionist.
When I checked in there was an issue with my booking which it wasn’t even my fault! They asked me to stay and talking with each other in a foreign language and every time I asked what’s going on she was so rude to me and shouting! I have also asked if I can get a dinner in the last minute and she said no! Totally it was terrible experience! I would never recommend this hostel!
Great social hostel
The hostel was clean and well-maintained. The bunks had all the essential amenities for convenience. The staff was warm and welcoming. Good vibes all around.
I loved the pool and club especially because were there for the weekend, the availability to bars social life and experiences close to the city was perfect for us
It’s the kind of hostel you never forget, I’m gonna come back there if I ever go back to Florence, everything was perfect, the hostel itself was really nice like clean and pretty, got a pool, staff was nice, people staying there were so nice too, I never made that much friends in a hostel, free pasta every night, really cheap drinks and a lot of activities ! Really I enjoyed it a lot, couldn’t recommend it more !
I have stayed in many hostels in many European cities, but this one is the best. Yellowsquare Hostel placed me in an air-conditioned room with five other women my age who were all leaving on the same day. This was perfect and led to many great conversations and friendships. The room came with a bathroom and a large locker, which was appreciated. The free pasta was great. The rooftop pool was incredible. The happy hour drinks were amazing. The patio and frequent social activities were so fun. As a solo traveller on a budget, you dream for a hostel like Yellowsquare to help you make friends and see the city without spending a fortune. I will be back at Yellowsquare next time I am in Italy.
The hostel was very secure and felt safe. Everything was reasonably clean other than the bathrooms which were quite dirty and needed a good clean. It wasn’t a particularly social hostel but the overall vibes were good. The location was decent, not too far of a walk from most things and the bar across the street was a fun place to end the night.
