YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
I had such a good time at this hostel. All the people were nice, the free pasta is great and the rooms are soo good! I love how cozy barmezzo and the outside terrace are. The activities were also really fun and the rooftop pool is perfect during hot days. Everybody was so social and I will definitely be coming back to this hostel at some point!
Nicest hostel I have ever stayed at. Clean, genuinely super comfy and pleasant rooms. We stayed in a four person room and there was so much privacy despite it and we slept like angels. Amazing views from the rooftop bar and the gym room was a major plus. Would stay there again if I were in Athens – would prefer it to a hotel or private airbnb tbh. The kitchen is the only minor problem but it is the guest’s fault rather than a YellowSquare issue. People are animals the second they think someone else is coming to clean up after them. Relatively well-stocked and spacious though.
Please add anti mosquito nets other than that stay was amasing.
Big breakfast, free drink was good, then two hours on the toilet
I visited Milan hostel and had the best experience. Staff was very helpful and the property is really nice. The events in the evening were really great too. Only one thing I noticed, there was this guy who was intentionally going and talking to women seating alone, he did not seemed to be a guest but rather a local, and he was not even from the working team, this felt really weird and unsafe to my friend when we were seating outside and talking. Hope this can get more focus. But overall it was a great experience and I will definitely recommend it to my friends.
The customer service is very good and the cleanliness of the rooms is top notch, but if there is one thing that could be improved, it would be the standard and quality of the shower room.
The hostel was nice and clean. Our room, one of the private rooms in the hostel was more than expected. The location was central and close to the metro station. But the best thing was the staff.
I stayed at YellowSquare for my first solotrip, and it couldn’t have been any better! Lovely and helpful staff, fun activities, amazing food and really good location.
One negative thing is the bathroom floor is wet
A very well located friendly hostel with a cool bar and activites.
The hostel was of a good standard and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom in my dorm was abit of a mess but I used the communal one on our corridor instead so there was no issues. The beds were very comfy and the AC in the dorm room was very welcomed in the August heat!
Clean rooms and sanitary facilities. Very friendly staff. I had a medical emergency and they where super helpfull, told me what hospital to go to and called me a cap. (In the end the hospital had outsourced the department I needed, to another hospital but they couldn’t know that) On the end I had to check out 2 nights earlier bc. of said emergency and I qas promised a refund for both nights. Nice and coazy communal areas. Just the comunal kitchen and some rooms are in the subterrain and therefore laking a bit of natural light even though they all have windows.
Overall a very nice hostal. Perfect for solo travelers.
Had a great stay at Yellow Square Rome. My room was really clean and I liked the fact that the cleaning lady came everyday for a quick wash of our shared bathroom. I thought the main attraction were closer to the hostel but everything is at least 20-30min walk which is fine if you want to get your steps in haha. My only thing is that they were no activities in the day time to meet people, only night time at the yellow bar across the street. It is nice if you like to party often or if you are not shy in such big social environnement. Other than that, everything was great !
This is second time staying in a yellow square, I done the Rome one last year, loved it and saw they had one in Milan so booked it. The Milan one is a little smaller to the Rome one but nothing major, 2 of us stayed both able to in same room, everything was perfect, very social, had our free drinks, only then had a coffee, but i remember the breakfast last year was really nice. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in, however mosquitoes were bad in the room, but due to the doors being open, nothing could’ve been done really over it
I loved my stay at Yellowsquare. Everything was great, and the rooftop bar was amazing.
It was amazing, a very high-quality and energetic atmosphere. I will definitely come with my family next time because it feels very safe. Thank you again for everything
Very nice hostel, rooftop is amazing and staff is chill.
Is in a bit of a sketchy area, try not go near omonia and you will be fine
As soon as I walked in, the staff were the friendliest I’ve ever met. After a really pleasant convo with reception (I think Laura was running the show), they gave many freebies including a free totebag and some coupons. They guided me to the room which had AC, was spacious and felt like I had lots of personal space. Good lights, good ports for electricity and yeah. Bathrooms had hair dryers and shampoo which was a great bonus and I also got a free drink! The whole hostel seemed like similar solo travellers which is incredibly fun
Staff were lovely and very helpful, room was great for 4 of us for a few nights, location great, and a lovely atmosphere in communal parts. We’re a family of 4 with 2 teens and although we didn’t see anyone else our age we were made to feel very welcome and never out of place, thanks for having us.
As a solo traveller, I love nothing more than Hostels wits places to socialize with other travellers. The downstairs area, the kitchen, the bar/restaurant… all those things are really important and improve the overall stay a lot.
We did not use any other amenities or activities offered by the hostel… just the private room for sleeping. At arrival, the neighborhood looked a little intimidating but when getting used to it it felt safe even late at night.
I really enjoyed the rooftop bar. It was social, good service and the drinks are reasonably priced. The beds are comfortable.
Overall I enjoyed my stay here the rooms were spacious and I liked the on suite especially it having a separated shower and loo. I had a balcony which was an added bonus. The pool was really nice and the staff were all really helpful and lovely.
I had an amazing stay here and would absolutely come back! The hostel was clean, the air conditioning worked great (a lifesaver in the Athens heat), and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming.
The rooftop bar was definitely the highlight—it has an incredible view of the Acropolis, especially at sunset, and the service was excellent.
A special shoutout to Mo, who went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. He was friendly, helpful, and really added to the overall experience.
The location is also fantastic—only about a 10-minute walk to Plaka, making it easy to explore Athens on foot.
Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. 10/10, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Athens!
I couldn’t have asked for anything more. The vibes were immaculate. Everything was clean and comfortable and staff were friendly.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy, loved the outdoor balconies. Kitchen was decent but was nowhere near enough fridge space, spoons or bowls
5 nights at yellow square Athens for a wedding. What a fantastic stay. Staff at thr hostel so friendly welcoming and knowledgeable. Beautiful clean room with shower and excellent air-conditioning. Above all the rooftop bar with stunning views and a great atmosphere. Excellent variety of breakfasts served. Love this place and am heartily recommending to friends and family
Bathroom was not cleaned while we were staying there. We were in the room the whole day and the bathroom was disgusting and smelt like a public bathroom. Also had a guy in my room bring in a girl not staying in our room/hostel all together and when I told staff they didn’t do anything about it.
We had a great time at Yellowsquare Hostel.
The staff was super friendly, helped us with any request and the hostel was clean and nice common areas. Thanks so much to the whole team!
Just a really nice atmosphere, plenty to do in the hostel itself with events organised by staff who are so nice. City centre is about 30 mins by bus or walking which is honestly fine, bus stop is easily accessible and for the quality of the hostel it’s worth it. The breakfast is lovely and free pasta in evening even better. Also the rooftop pool is class
Loved the atmosphere, room and the rooftop bar and the activities were awesome! Would love to stay again. Staff weren’t the friendliest but still nice
I was surprised by the amount of space and the facilities, especially in the 6-bed female dorm. It was one of the most comfortable hostel stays I’ve had, and I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a hostel. The atmosphere was social, the free pasta was a great bonus, and although it’s a little outside the city centre, it’s easy to get there by tram or a 15-minute walk.
Amazing hostel with great facilities and activities. Super-friendly staff.
Everything was great, from check-in to check-out and even afterward. Nice room (clean and great AC), friendly staff, and great location!
Great staff, rooms are very clean ! It was my second time here and I’ll gladly come back a third
It is a little expensive, but that’s normal for Florence. The hostel is so friendly, accommodating of all languages, and it’s a great place for a first time hostel stay. There are lots of activities in the hostel if you want to meet people, but it’s also very peaceful in the rooms if you want to chill out on your own. I had a nap in the garden on my own too! I would really recommend if you want something easy for your trip. Also, if you are an anxious traveller or are worried about cleanliness, this place is cleaner than most hotels, and there are lots of bathrooms that aren’t in your rooms if you are worried about the queue for the toilet
Beautiful place in the heart of the living city of Athens.
Rich of details it offers air conditioned rooms, comfortable mattresses and clean toilets.
The best comes with the beautiful rooftop where you can enjoy memorable sunsets.
Breakfast was cheap but tasty and filling.
The staff was the best.
The place was immaculate, the staff were so friendly & helpful throughout the entire trip.
Fine hostel, many Australians and British people. No hate but they were very noisy. Slept really bad because there were no curtains in front of the bed and the window didn’t work very well so the noise from the bar went directly into the dorm room. Really nice with the pasta though
Will go back to that place again when I travel in Europe in near future.
