YellowSquare Reviews: Rome
YellowSquare Rome is located a 10-minute walk from the city center and is a solo-traveler friendly base. We offer female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms for all types of travelers. If you need to get work done, Smartsquare is our professional coworking space. For food and social vibes, Yellow Bar is our main restaurant and events hub, while the Arcade hosts stand-up comedy and activities in the basement. It’s the perfect place to meet travellers, grab a drink, go for stroll with new friends and connect with our global community.
Had a great stay at Yellow Square Rome. My room was really clean and I liked the fact that the cleaning lady came everyday for a quick wash of our shared bathroom. I thought the main attraction were closer to the hostel but everything is at least 20-30min walk which is fine if you want to get your steps in haha. My only thing is that they were no activities in the day time to meet people, only night time at the yellow bar across the street. It is nice if you like to party often or if you are not shy in such big social environnement. Other than that, everything was great !
As soon as I walked in, the staff were the friendliest I’ve ever met. After a really pleasant convo with reception (I think Laura was running the show), they gave many freebies including a free totebag and some coupons. They guided me to the room which had AC, was spacious and felt like I had lots of personal space. Good lights, good ports for electricity and yeah. Bathrooms had hair dryers and shampoo which was a great bonus and I also got a free drink! The whole hostel seemed like similar solo travellers which is incredibly fun
As a solo traveller, I love nothing more than Hostels wits places to socialize with other travellers. The downstairs area, the kitchen, the bar/restaurant… all those things are really important and improve the overall stay a lot.
Everything was great, from check-in to check-out and even afterward. Nice room (clean and great AC), friendly staff, and great location!
The place was immaculate, the staff were so friendly & helpful throughout the entire trip.
Fine hostel, many Australians and British people. No hate but they were very noisy. Slept really bad because there were no curtains in front of the bed and the window didn’t work very well so the noise from the bar went directly into the dorm room. Really nice with the pasta though
if you want to party and meet new friends this hostel is for you, everyday they have a lot of different activities so you can socialize with new people.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the location is perfect, the metro is only 7 minutes away or you can walk.
Definitely i will come back 💗💗
This was my first hostel experience, was sceptical at first but after meeting my roommates and going to the bar I fell in love with this place.
If I’m ever in Rome I’m coming back here for sure.
Meeting people is so easy
The bedrooms where not the same in the pictures, so small and the bathrooms small
I was there for 3 nights, it was clean, pretty, shower was alsou good,
Everything was excellent, specially the bar. Good location, good prices, good accommodations. The only thing I didn’t like were my roommates, they were loud and rude all the time and when I asked to change rooms I didn’t receive help. More than that, I’d return in the future
Location was alright, a bit far to walk to the main sights. Not much around the hostel. The free welcome drink and associated bar at least guarantee a social evening. The AC is a godsend, but the bathrooms were not clean and the showers did not feel private. There was nothing to put your stuff on but the dirty floor.
Overall, I had a pleasant stay; the hotel was clean, the reception staff were courteous and helpful, and the services were good, although the room rates were slightly expensive.
I loved the vibe, social side of the hostel! People were super friendly including the staff they really wanted to get to know you and help out.
I had a very positive experience during my stay. I felt really comfortable, the team was always genuinely attentive and nice. The location is convenient, the facilities work well, and everything contributed to making me feel truly welcomed. I would definitely recommend it and would happily return or pass the the other ones in Milan, Florence or Athens.
The staff did the bare minimum, the people staying here were mostly in groups and not very friendly. No privacy curtains, and €250 went missing from my bag. Everything was clean and comfortable though.
Best hostel , i liked
There was no social aspect, the planned events sucked, a bunch of people not at the hostile were at the bar. The shower flooded everytime you used it, no curtains despite a curtain rod. Rooms were clean and has a which was nice though.
I had a great experience. The location was perfect being so close to Termini and multiple bus stops. I felt safe at all times. The facilities were very clean. And I loved how social it was with the bar across the street.
The room I stayed in was a great group of girls who made the stay so enjoyable. There were fun events and I especially appreciated the pasta on the first night!
the rome yellowsquare was an amazing hostel, the rooms were clean and safe, the people were very friendly and welcoming, the shower water pressure was fantastic! the girls in my room and i clicked instantly and it made the trip that much more wonderful, we went down to the yellow bar for drinks and free pasta every night and the outside area of the bar was great for finding people to talk to and befriend!! the staff in the bar were also so lovely and friendly same with inside the hostel!
the area of the hostel was pretty good and very close to termini station as well which was handy and i felt very safe the entire time as a female solo traveller!
i stayed here for my first solo trip and it was so good i wished i continued the trip for longer and will definitely stay at yellowsquare again!!!!
Beds were clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped and clean. Shower was dirty and often cold. Social life was great. The free pasta each night was a big plus.
staff was amazing . place was great. safe. yellow pub was cherry on top. loved it
Such a good Hostel experience. The Hostel bar across the street was so nice and the staff always very friendly. The free pasta every night and discount for guests was a plus! I would definitely stay here again, and recommend everyone else to as well!
The staffs are so nice. We arrived at night, I was supposed to be in a mixed group however the smell of sweat inside the room was unbearable. I told the reception abt it and they happily switched me to a women’s room and its clean and fantastic. I got a nice sleep, the AC is nice, the water is hot and its very near to the Termini station. I will definitely come back and get to experience the internship they offer as well.
The place has a good enough location, te installations are comfortable and the staff is really nice. I specially LOVED that they let us use the installations after check out because we could shower and rest before catching our next train. Would recommend and would go back!
There isn’t any hangers in the bathroom other than for towels, and there is no curtain for the place you can get changed. The stairs to the bed is very comfortable it hurts the feet. And the first step is very high from the ground
Yellow Square doesn’t dissapoint. The room was spacious and clean – exception made for the shower space that was very small. The bar is lively and the staff is very nice and helpful. It’s the third stay here and i don’t think it’ll be the last.
I had a really wonderful stay at YellowSquare Rome. The atmosphere was lively, friendly, and perfect for solo travelers. The hostel was clean, well-organized, and felt very safe, even as a female traveler. I especially loved the social vibe — it was easy to meet people from different countries and enjoy the common areas together.
The location was also very convenient, close to the station and easy to reach major ,attractions. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, and the staff were always welcoming and helpful. It honestly made my time in Rome much more enjoyable.
Everything was great
I stayed a week and a few days at YellowSquare Roma. Overall, my stay was very good. The only downside was that for the entire time I was there, I needed to do laundry, and their laundromat was out of order for a whole week. Otherwise, the room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and informative. Will definitely be back.
I never leave reviews but had to for yellowsquare. a great place to stay in Rome that’s super close to transportation and the city centre with wonderful staff, amenities and services. the yellow bar is always energetic and fun, super friendly staff and a well thought out system (which I highly appreciated) where they have clear instructions in the room and reception for how to make the most of your stay, as well as thinking about the small details such as having sanitary pads, dinner, and water available for free at all times. great first hostel experience that I fear might ruin my stays at other hostels in the future. in general, I would love to be contacted by yellowsquare for any upcoming deals/offers/new openings in other cities.
Overall, a good hostel with everything you may need. Had towels for rent, a hair dryer, luggage storage, free pasta, and was super close to Termini station. Would have been better with a privacy curtain!
To be honest I chose here even over boutique hotels which only take little bit higher price just due to cleanliness and safety in the first place this hostel provides, this is a somewhat prestigious hostel.
Good central location for mobility, I could almost go anywhere by walking. Trains and bus lines are easily accessible too
Friendly and helpful personnel, clean and hygienic rooms
Rooms having digitally run safety box in the each bunk bed space and manually locked personal cabinets
Having a nice bar to spend time on evenings
A proper air conditioner was in place
Good visitors with good vibes
Only downside was bathroom, shower cabin becoming a swimming pool while having a shower that the waste water channel must be somehow clogged.
It is a nice hostel with many rooms and a bar in front of the street where you can get breakfast & drinks. People are very nice and i had a great time, the only thing that could be better is the beds are made of metal and a bit noisy when somebody moves at night, i shared an all womens room and it was okay for the price.
Staff are great! Nice vibe, bedroom clean.
Fun, clean, convenient, social, safe.
The hostel itself was very nice and very clean. I stayed in the all female dorm and it was cleaned every day. Everyone is super friendly and I love the activities they plan each night. Would stay again
Everyone at the YellowSquare was lovely! Both guests and staff, facilities were clean, location was good.
Everything was awesome and really nice, the staffs and the atmosphere was incredible
