YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
Enjoyed my stay overall and was a good location. Have stayed 2 times now as easy to get to the city from here. Kitchen facilities were good, always kept clean. Some rooms have curtains others don’t. First room I stayed in didn’t, second time it did. Decent wifi and good indoor anf outdoor space. Free pasta for dinner was also a bonus and yum. Nice to get a free drink card too.
We had a private room, and was able to sleep, explore the city, and chill at the hostel to decompress. Really enjoyed the time there.
great structure and helpful staff, would definitely come back
Everything was great. The hostel is well thought out and has many small things that improve the overall comfort and quality of the stay.
The check in/check out procedures are smooth and informative. Free, convenient, or affordable services offered make this stay very comfortable.
The events and quality facilities enhance the stay. I would definitely stay again.
They denied items they supposed to be part of my pay room and the staff is rude abd not helpful
A really good place to spend few days
The team is really kind and listening if you need help or advise
The room were clean and confortable
I’ve been travelling London, Paris and Edinburgh, NY, recently, this hostel is the best so far.
The first thing I focus is the cleaniness, that’s 9/10.
The second is the security, 9/10, it provides the security locker, you just need to bring your own lock.(it’s small lock). Also there are some hangers. The bed there is no curtain that’s a bit unfortunate.
Also there is a dryer in the washroom, amazing! There is also a kitchen area, you can store your food here. (but someone may take your food, i got banana and croissant missed… could that person just buy by himself/herself :(((.) Location is also convenience, 10 mins to Termini by walking. If i have a second visit, I definitely will live there again:)))
Clean facilities. Fun atmosphere. Close to train station. Respectful staff. Overall great experience.
The room and the bathroom were absolutely disgusting. And I entered the room just after the “”cleaning service”””. Then I think is genial to use metal bed frames that are so noisy everytime you touch them! Bad bad experience
I had a great time. The staff is incredibly helfpul and friendly, the hostel is very clean and tidy.
The best part were all the activities and events to socalaze.
the staff was very kind and helpful. the common area was great and the kitchen had all the supplies needed. the breakfast was totally worth it. the bar was very welcoming and nice. room was very clean and the bed comfortable.
The hostel is new and modern, and the staff is extremely nice. Thank you for being so helpful!
I stayed in both a private room & a dormitory during my trip. The private room was extremely small with little ventilation, and the dormitory was also very congested. Since we had chosen the most basic private room option, I’m unsure how to benchmark it against other rooms. When we moved to a dorm, my friend and I got allotted different dormitories. Despite having paid the same amount, one room was extremely spacious while the other was extremely congested. There should be a price difference between the two dorm bed rates. Kate at the reception was rude and unfriendly. When I complained about the inadequate ventilation in the dormitory, she seemed uninterested in trying to find a solution. She could have politely explained her constraints in helping me out, but instead, she chose to be rude and dismissive. Not worth the price. Location is good, but not worth the subpar facilities.
Great hostel with a smooth check-in experience. The staff are friendly, easygoing and do a great job running the show! Our bed was comfortable in the private room.
The facilities were good and not lacking in any way. The staff was exemplar and very helpful. It was as if they were all concierges. I would definitely consider staying there again.
Overall I enjoyed my stay at the yellowsquare milan!
The staff was super kind, chill and helpful. The girls in my room was not so communicating, which is fine, I guess, but I would’ve loved some more:)
The activities in the hostel though are really helping to connect to people!
Nice accommodations, loved the laundromat!!!
My only problem with the place is that it’s super far from the city center and the airport.. so take that into consideration
Yellow square is the kind of hostel you dream of! Clean, great location, super helpful staff. It’s worth it to pay a little more for the free breakfast! The rooftop bar is… perfection!
Bed was horrible. Room 410.
Felt broken but checked underneath and saw it was just super saggy.
The area didn’t feel safe at night, so we didn’t feel comfortable walking at night.
No option for day use or late checkout so paid full price to check out at 20:00. Bummer
I have stayed and worked at the Yellow in Rome and Florence and the one in Athens feels exactly like a Yellow should feel. Social, lively and comfortable!
Amazing place to stay, great location and lovely activities to help socialising. The bar is amazing, what a fab rooftop for sunset and views over the acropolis. Really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend.
I was surprised how clean are the rooms, furthermore I received a 4 beds room instead of 8, which was perfect for me. And I was lucky enough that all my roommates were great and friendly.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Yellowsquare Rome. I met new friends and partied every night. The rooms and bathroom were very clean. The mattresses could use replacing. They’re sagging in the middle but still comfortable. One complaint is they turned the heat on so the rooms got very hot we had to sleep with the window open and its noisy ALL night. I recommend bringing a travel fan. The location is perfect – 5 min walk from Castro Pretorio and 10 mins from Termini. You can honestly just switch at termini and take the B to C. Pretorio.
The bar and activities provided were so much fun and engaging. Food and drinks were good too. I highly recommend this hostel and I’ll definitely be back.
It was a great stay for me.
1 room is very clean
2 location excellent is near to prt romana metro.
3 staff is very helpful.
4 people there was very friendly
Easy to find, easy check in, had everything we needed and a free drink voucher.
I love Yellow with my whole heart. I’ve been twice now, and both times have been unforgettable. There’s just something about the energy there—the way the staff make you feel instantly welcome, the laughter echoing through the halls, and the friendships that somehow feel like you’ve known each other forever. Every visit, I’ve met people who’ve changed my trip for the better, but it’s the staff who truly make Yellow special. They remember you, they care, and they make it feel like home no matter how far you’ve traveled. Yellow isn’t just a hostel—it’s a feeling, a community, and a place you always want to come back to.
I was overall really pleased with this place and would recommend it to anyone who wants nightly opportunities to meet people from all over visiting Rome. The only reason I didn’t give YelloSquare a 10 is because it can be a tad difficult to fall asleep if your room is overlooking the usually noisy Yellow Bar
Breakfast is definitely worth-while!!! Look for Barista and they make best cappuccino.
we booked the hostel for the roof top. unfortunately it was closed. the beds were very noisy.
apart from that the hostel is beautiful and the staff is incredibly kind
Super fun crowd, clean amenities, fun vibes, and overall a great stay
The hotel is close to Termini station. My private room was pretty basic, but wasn’t expecting nothing too fancy. The main thing is that it was clean and confortable.
I was really positively surprised by this place — my stay was great!
What truly made the difference for me was the co-working space. I needed to work during my days in Rome, and it honestly exceeded my expectations: amazing internet (both there and throughout the hostel), quiet, respectful, and super comfortable.
The staff were also fantastic — always ready to help, and in every language possible!
I stayed in two different rooms, and while I think the price-quality ratio could be slightly better, it’s still fair for what Rome usually offers.
The location is excellent too: a calm area, very close to Termini Station, and you can walk everywhere in about 20 minutes.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay — I’d come back without hesitation!
This was my first time staying in a hostel and the experience could not have been better. The rooms were clean, the facilities were bountiful and there was always something going on. I would recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Milan.
The hostel is at a great location in Athens. Our room and the bathrooms were clean. The disappointing part was you have to check out before 11am but our room wasn’t ready till after 5pm so we had to just wait around till it was, they gave us a coffee and a juice while we waited. They gave us a welcome drink at the rooftop bar which I would highly recommend for the views.
The room was very dirty. The bed and sheets were clean but the walls, floor and bathroom were very dirty. The floors and walls were covered in stains that didn’t look like anyone tried to get them out. And the whole bathroom was dirty with boogers on the walls and dirt everywhere. It was all so 27 degrees outside with no AC being able to be turned on.
The experience was incredible, the whole facilities are amazing, very clean, tydi, the pleople who works there too. Besides, the location is perfect.
I solo travelled during my trip to Rome and stayed in a Yellow Square mixed dorm, I met some amazing people at the hostel bar that shaped my experience for the better! I couldn’t recommend it enough. The staff were friendly, helpful and made me feel very welcome 🙂
