YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
I highly recommend staying at YellowSquare if you are staying in Florence! One of the nicest, and cleanest hostels I’ve stayed at. I love how the hostel offers activities to do everyday at hostel. It’s also not too far of a walk from City Centre, or you can take the tram that is right down the street that will get you to the City Centre as well. The train station is also only a 10 minute walk away.
very nice!!
I enjoyed my stay very much. It was a very clean.
I loved the restaurant on the other side of the street and was there daily.
What can I day about this hostel! Such a fun, organized, well put together hostel. It’s also in a great location. Right across from the tram, so it’s so easy to get around. The staff were phenomenal. They were so helpful whenever I needed it. The vibe of the hostel is warm and inviting and I would 100% recommend it for anyone looking to stay in Florence.
had a great experience at yellow square rome, was travelling with a friend one night and alone the other. the amenities provided were perfect for this — i wanted to go out but feared going out alone in a new city, and the yellow bar worked perfect for this! the breakfast in the morning got me going, and the beds were comfortable and clean. everyone was very kind and helpful.
I had a truly wonderful experience during my stay at Yellowsquare Rome. Its central location, excellent amenities, and cleanliness made my stay truly memorable.
Great place for a great price! The rooms and bathrooms were all really clean and super cute as well. All of the staff was lovely. The free dinner was yummy and there were good food options for purchasing too. Would def recommend!
The hostel waa nice and very social, but in my room the bathroom had no lock, total lack of privacy and very uncomfortable
This place was perfect. Before and after check in they held our bags so we did not have to worry about them. It is filled with young and fun people from all over. The common areas and rooms were modern and clean. I could not recommend a place more.
I stayed in a private room that had all the amenities I needed, including a safe and a hairdryer. Towels were also provided and the room was cleaned everyday, which I did not expect. We also greatly enjoyed the Yellow Bar in front of the hostel and got some great perks there because of being there. All the staff was lovely and we got to leave our bags there for free because we arrived before check-in time, which was a great relief. It is also located very close to a metro station and a bus stop that covers the whole city. Overall very good experience and I will be sure to visit other YellowSquare hostels in other Italian cities I visit.
Just had the best stay at the Yellow! The atmosphere was great and met lots of amazing people throughout my days there. I was having such a great time that I extended my stay several times.
One thing that could have been improved was room extensions: they were not nearly as smooth here as other hostels I’ve stayed at. I had to have my room switched for maintenance twice, and this meant that I had to check out at 10am and wait until 3pm to check back in… the first time this occurred, I understood; but the second time, I had specifically mentioned that I’d likely wanted to extend further and the concierge said “of course, no problem, come back and let me know, we have space, etc.” and when I did return ~6 hours later to confirm, I found out that the new room I’d waited for that day was also going into maintenance the next day, and that I’d have to do the kicked-out check-in/check-out dance once again. Pretty frustrating to not have a room for 5 hours 2 days in a row, and especially rough for a party hostel like Yellow.
However, this rigamarole aside, I had an awesome time. I’ll definitely stay again, next time I’m in Rome… I’ll just make sure to book my entire stay in advance, no extensions.
All the facilities were great. I am happy to see a bidet was there was well. Also the lockers were very useful. The bathroom was very nice and clean.
The room was really nice, as the hostel. It was clean, and with everything we could need.
Amazing! I only stayed for a night, but it was lovely. Free welcome drink and the bar and the espresso and breakfast was great in the morning. The room was nicer than a lot of hotels I’ve stayed in. They had spacious storage lockers in the room and even bigger ones to rent for €1 downstairs.

Everyone was incredibly friendly and it was such a nice atmosphere!
the hostel had everything you need and was very clean and nice
Yellow Square has an excellent staff and good vibes. The bar of the hostel is in front and it has events every night. They give you a free welcome drink and free pasta dinner every night! Good located too, 4 blocks from Termini Starion
The best people in charge of my room. The areas for chillin’ , cooking, the bar!.
They re so helpfull.
You wouldnt regret.
will be back
I visited Milan with my sister,we stayed only for a night but it was memorable we had free pasta and we painted tote bags, the whole environment was such a vibe and what a great location!
I stayed here for 3 nights and felt very safe and welcomed. There was something happening every night which made it a great way to meet people. The common space/ work space was great as well! I have nothing but good things to say about this hostel!
I had everything I required, and more! Great atmosphere, extremely friendly and helpful staff (both professional and volunteering), various and enticing activities each and every day/night, comfortable and safe quarters, accessible facilities…. Definitely a top-notch establishment!
This hostel was amazing and exceeded my expectations, however there was a certain smell, like rotten eggs, that would come and go through the main area at night. It could have been the sewer, as I smelled it around town too.
Hostel with very good conditions. Quite pleasant and welcoming. But I think there could be more dynamism between the guests, for a hostel I think there could be activities so that there would be more interactions
I had a great time, very friendly people all around – would 100 recommend and go again!
this hostel is the best, the staff was super nice, everything was clean, and the bar was amazing! would recommend to everyone!! the location is ok. really close to the central station and a little bit further away from the city center. but i wouldn’t say this is a negative thing. i had already been to yellow Milan, so i knew what i was coming to and it did not disappoint!!! and i got memories for life with the girls i shared room with:) this is the place to be
– Nice staff
– comfortable and modern electric port bunkbeds
– nice in room bathroom
– free towel
– free drink/coffee voucher for across the street
– bagage storage lockers for 1 euro a day (can fit 3 backpacks)
– safe area
It was an amazing experience to stay at yellowsquare I didn’t think it was possible to meet so many inspiring people in such a short time.
There was only one little thing that bothered me, it was super cold in the rooms. And the duvets where not warm enough so I already was wearing a lot of clothes to sleep but it was still very cold.
I booked a shared room with four other girls. The room was very clean, the bathroom very complete with hairdryer and soaps included, the beds had individual lights and plugs, as well as a safe. There was enough space for all four people, with spacious lockers for each of them.
The common areas (bar, kitchen, terrace, study space…) were very comfortable. In the case of the kitchen, it was equipped with all the necessary utensils and enough space for many people to eat, as well as free basic food (cereals, macaroni, rice) and a dishwasher.
The best hostel I have ever stayed in.
Friendly staff, good food clean rooms. Good atmosphere for going out on an evening
Very friendly and helpful staff, the hostel is modern and clean, my friend and I had a good time!
I was a bit skeptical as I am staying at any new hostel but this one had amazing reviews and they did not disappoint. From before check in, to the duration of my stay, it was amazing. They emailed with suggestions on what to bring, they responded about how to get to the hostel from the airport and check in was easy. I arrived very early and unfortunately you can’t pay extra to check in early, even in advance. But I was still fortunate to get in my room a couple hours early. The rooms were really clean and pretty spacious. They provided daily cleaning as well. I stayed in an all female 4 bedroom dorm. We all had our own lockers and safe. Wifi worked really well in the rooms too. There was a window which we could open and that was nice to get fresh air in daily. Towels were available to rent too and I utilized that. There were so many events to choose from although the signs can’t be trusted, the times are usually wrong, so it’s best to just ask front desk what is happening that day. The bar across the street is everyone’s favorite I think. You get a free welcome drink, drinks are super affordable after that and they have food too. The DJs are almost always amazing and you can meet a lot of new people. There is a kitchen at the hostel as well as a room to relax, get work done and a room to play darts. It was so organized, clean, the people were friendly- I am so happy with my stay I have already told others to stay there. The only big thing that I wish was available was airport pick up through the hostel. It can make things so much easier. I booked my own driver. They also can call you taxis whenever you need which came in handy!
Friendly staff, big rooms, great location and cool vibes everywhere. I will definitely book to stay here again.
The staff were very nice and helpful, and the stay was okay!
10 minutes walking from Termini train station, this hostel has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Rome.
Clean dorms, non-squeaking bunk beds, fairly clean toilets. Soap and hairdryers in the toilets are a good plus!
Furnished kitchen, nice rest area, bar and coworking (free for guests) right across the street.
Very nice and friendly staff.
We chose a shared room of 8, we were in a room divided in two parts of 4 and 4 people. We had two horrible roommates who smoked in the shared bathroom, ate in the middle of the night and woke us up at 3 and 4 in the morning when they came back drunk from partying. The bar and shared areas were fine but the bathroom was too small to share with 8 people and was quite dirty. The room was just ok. The best part was the staff who took great care of us, helped us and gave us recommendations. Thanks a lot guys!
