YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
Me and my sister enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back
Overall my stay was great, great reception and staff, the room and toilet with a decent size and cleanliness. The only problem was on the karaoke night that I could hear the music from my room on the secod floor, which was a bit annoing since I had to wake up early on the next day.
The staff were incredibly kind and respectful, and I had a lovely time staying at the hostel. The only piece of feedback I have is that the metal material the bunk beds were made out of was very loud, so it was difficult to stay quiet for my roommates. I don’t know how this might change, but if there could be some way to minimize the noise that would be helpful.
The place was clean and the service was amazing. Everyone was so kind.
I waited to write my review since this was my first stay at a hostel and it honestly was above and beyond everywhere else I stayed on my trip. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and cleaned daily. The rooftop pool and bar were such fun amenities, and there was also a changing room available to me before I could check in which was so nice after a long day of travel. I had 2 folks help me at registration and I don’t know their names but they were both so sweet and helpful, and honestly all the staff I encountered were super kind. The atmosphere was also super fun in the common spaces it was so easy to meet people. The location is also perfect it’s so close to the tram and a short walk to the city and train station!
Staff super kind. Common areas are very nice. Good environment. Wifi works well all the time. The place is clean.
I had an amazing stay at YellowSquare in Rome, which far exceeded all my expectations. The hostel’s vibrant atmosphere and modern amenities made it a perfect base for exploring the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure guests had everything they needed. The location is ideal for tourists, offering easy access to major sights and local hotspots. YellowSquare isn’t just a place to stay; it’s where adventure begins in Rome. Highly recommended for any traveler looking for an unforgettable experience!
The room has no natural light, the bathroom was too small, and we have to cross the street to access to the hostel that we saw on pictures.
Clean, secure, comfortable, and eventful.
Only downside was that it was a bit expensive per night.
I would say I was overall satisfied with the hostel, it was clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful, and it was in a pretty good location. My roommates drove me crazy, lacking the basics of respect when sharing a space with someone. They had conversations at 3am, turned the lights on at obscene hours, and were very unwelcoming. I didn’t appreciate not having any privacy curtain on my bed, everyone had to sacrifice sheets or a towel to make one. I can’t blame the hostel for its guests, because the staff was amazing and it was generally a very nice place. Due to the nature of it being a party hostel, however, it is important to note that it would probably attract that type of person. I love to party as well, but when I’m in my room I like to sleep. Also, the drying machine in the laundry room was out of service which was hugely inconvenient. The lockers were the perfect size for my small suitcase and bag which I appreciated not having to check it. They sell locks for very cheap so don’t worry about it if you don’t own one.
The place is better than other hostels I have stayed
We are both happy on be able on visiting you another time (me and my couple)
The hostel had the best vibe. The events were so fun and it’s so convenient it being just across the road. The room was spacious and clean and all the staff were super friendly. I was a solo female traveller and would definitely go back.
the staff working were lovely and were really helpful when you had questions about getting around rome! the room was perfect for our stay, had the basics of what you needed and did the job for when your needing to shower and sleep!
the bar across the street was great for drinks and something to eat, has activities to take part in too.
Had such a great time there, I was solo tripping for the first time so I was scared to make friends but they had so many social events (free ones too!) and a whole group chat which was amazing! Location is also prime 🙂
Was my first hostels experience, and it was much better than i thought it would be. So i only can recommend it!
I stayed in Florence and Milan and both of them was amazing experience for me.
I hope someday ı can stay again.I had so much fun and great memories…
Lots of organised activities made it easy for a solo traveller to meet people. The on-site coffee and pastries was a great touch, and really good value.
The hostel is super well located, and it has everything! Like kitchen and fridge, which I really appreciated. However, the mattress was not very confortable and it was zero privacy between the beds (not curtains in each bed and all of the beds were facing each other).
I loved the experience! It’s perfect for both people who want to be social and those who want to relax and get a good nights sleep. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Everything from the interior design to the staff to the many many activities were so pleasant. Everything was very clean. The staff was so welcoming. The atmosphere all the way through our stay was so nice. We really enjoyed our time here.
I spent a couple of super good nights at the hostel, it had very good facilities, everything was very comfortable.
Maybe just one detail is that I had to stay in a room close to the playground so the noise was quite loud around 12:00 (midnight) when I wanted to sleep.
We had a really good time at Yellowsquare and we enjoyed the place as well as the staff’s kindness.
Great and spacious room, with nice facilities and great location.
Bed was ok. Check in and check out were easy. Location was ok.
I met a few people at the bar and was able to talk to them.
It can be difficult to connect with other travellers in a foreign city, if you don’t know anybody.
But here it was comparatively easy.
I appreciate that your staff is very customer-oriented. I was happy I was able to change room. The hostel is also in a good location. But in terms of facilities I don’t think I got value for money. The dorm rooms are small and very basic. No tea, coffee and milk provided (I don’t think this would have cost you a fortune). I left YellowSquare feeling it was too expensive.
I had such a wonderful time at YellowSquare Florence! The atmosphere was lovely and I met such incredible people. All of the staff are super helpful + friendly and I really loved all of the planned social events. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the shared areas are well looked after and the rooftop pool is an incredible addition!!
Of course the location in beautiful Florence just ties everything together to create such a great stay.
I loved it so much that within days of leaving I booked to come back. Looking forward to staying again ❤️
Super clean with big bunks in the dorms. Met some cool people there and really enjoyed my stay!
The rooms were super clean and airy, with plenty of space.
Its a nice place, the room was clean and with good space.
First time in a hostel and a very good experience!
Everything was fine, but in my mixed room there were one 18 y old girl who got too drunk and made a mess in the room during the night. From midnight to 5 am talking loud and wanting to leave for some party that didnt exist. The staff asked me to be aware for her, so I am my cousin were. We did not let her get outside because it was not safe for her in those conditions. All ok with that! Sometimes we need to take care of someone, however what happened the next day was that something I didnt like.
I went to the reception and told what happened and asked the staff to be aware for her and if she was drinking a lot again that night I would like to change rooms or change her. What was told me is ” it´s a drinking hostel and it is normal”. They couldn´t do anything.
Not cool from the part of the staff. Except that, everything was nice!
The staff were very welcoming and the accommodation was clean and situated in a great residential area with all the attractions within walking distance, highly recommended.
I stayed here for 2 nights. Great and welcoming staff, good facilities, multiple and well prepared shared area for relax, chill, bar, and kitchen. However, during the 80s and 90s songs party night. It was very hard to sleep, I was in building B, ground floor, you could fell the windows shaking because of the sounds of the DJ. This was 2 AM, not 11 PM, not 1 AM, but 2 AM. Although the party was under the ground, still not well isolated, I really had hard time to get to sleep. Of you’re planning to stay here and not willing to party, then avoid the days when they have the DJ. Food there is great, worth every penny, they also give you a free drink coupon. I’d stay here again but not during the parties nights. One last not, shower in my room was broken, room MB02.
Amazing experience. Staff lovely! Lots of free food! Thank you
The dorms are clean and have A/C. The showers and toilets in the room were clean, though quite small. The beds were comfy and there were safes for valuables.
Hostel events were a mixed bag, they were kinda improvised and didn’t really help to meet people. The bar is nice, the drinks are relatively cheap. Towels were only a euro, good deal.
