YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
I really liked my experience in YellowSquare, there were activities for guests, there were free cooking ingredients, a big kitchen space, discounts for guests at the bar, coworking space, cheap laundry services, big locker spaces, soap at the showers, a nice hidden garden, a place to get a haircut, it is located outside the cazy crowd area, but close to the termini, a metro station and bus stops.
Very Clean. Nice Staff. Beds are comfy. Lockers are Big. Great sozial Events. You can meet people easily. Food options are good.
It’s a bit far from the Centre but manageable
The hostel is very well located and the employees are always kind and offering help. The common areas are OK.
The stuff was well organised and took care immediatly, when there was smth to help🙃. A lot of warmhearted and chatty people around. The 4 Bedroom was also tiptop. 👍🏽
Clean, quiet, near to Termini and old city, friendly staff
I had a pleasant stay here. It’s in a tucked away location but well connected — only a couple of minutes’ walk from Porta Romana on the M3 Metro line, direct to Duomo or Central Station, and the No. 9 tram to Porta Genova.
The common areas were cheerfully decorated, and there was a full calendar of events to engage people, though I didn’t get to try them out due to commitments. Unfortunately, my sleep was badly disturbed by the Friday night party, despite provision and use of earplugs.
My dorm room was clean and modern, with good bathroom. Bunk bed ladder was uncomfortable to climb (narrow treads) and individual lighting was badly set up to flood the entire room. Curtains would have been appreciated.
Staff were helpful, breakfast selection and quality of food was excellent. Though I’d tried to economise, this still seemed expensive for a hostel (even to my Milanese friend) but it seemed difficult to do better for the price. I’d consider it if I came back, though I’m not much of a returning traveller.
I stayed in Florence for a couple days and it was sooo good!!
Absolutely loved yellow square, Monica and Ahmad were sooo kind.
Definitely would go back!
I really liked my stay at Yellow Square and I would certainly seek it out again in the future. The staff had a great attitude and the environment was always good.
Super clean, social but not loud, bar area is fun
It was amazing! I just don’t know from where to begin. Stuff is awesome – everyone is super helpful. Room was just perfect: extremely comfortable bed and bathroom. And I really like a lot of activities that was just every day!
Great staff and atmosphere
Great hostel with amazing staff and atmosphere. Very social. Only down sides are: bit of a walk from town center, no privacy curtains, lockers are quite small.
great experience
We went with a friend and we loved the activities that were available. The karaoke was great. The room was clean and the lockers really effective.
My favorite experience honestly was the YellowBar. I wish the DJ played music longer but other than that it was a jam. I think the live music was great too. The staff are all friendly and willing to help.
I spent two nights in the Yellow Square Milan, I had a good time there!
The room was clean! The room size is good, I liked the fact that they have a sink in the bathroom as well as another one inside of the room!
The staff was nice! Good localization! 5 min walk distance to the subway and supermarket. 20 min walk-distance from Duomo.
I recommend it!
This was my first time staying at a hostel and I was rather dubious at first. After my stay here I am now converted! There was an incredible atmosphere at YellowSquare, the staff were friendly, the amenities were plentiful and there was some great events put on too!
Friendly staff and nice environment. It would be better if the windows were sound proof because we could hear a lot of drunk people noise at night but nothing that an earplug cant fix. In general good experience. I recommend it
Super friendly and helpful staff! Great atmosphere- you can chill out if you want or get crazy it’s totally up to you. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean, just know there’s only one toilet/shower per floor.
I liked the property very much! I think it was a bit expensive but i liked that there are many activities inside the hostel. The common area was very good to meet people, the rooms were very good and clean and I had an overall great experience and attention from the hosts. Would recommend!
The room was lovely, the people were amazing and the yellow bar across the road was fantastic !! Loved everything and it was close to the station so getting around was so easy.
Everything was great except for the showers that were a little tight(it was clean enough). I will probably go back to this place but would like to see some improvement in the bathroom area.
The hostel itself was great, the staff and other guests were lovely. The bar was great but closed very early unfortunately, and the staff at the bar were not informed of events the hostel advertised which were supposed to take place at the bar (ie: free pasta night) which led to misinformation.
Genuinely a great stay. We booked a private room and it was clean and beds were comfy. Staff were lovely and helpful.
Nice location, the staffs are very friends, good bar to meet people or have a night in Rome
I didn’t have a good experience. I stayed for two nights (April 25th and 26th). Both nights, the person sleeping in the top bunk (Room 105, Bed 5) had another person with them who not only stayed but also got up several times to vomit and use the bathroom. It’s a large hostel, and anyone can come and go, which means they don’t have control over these things. The reception staff were friendly, and the hostel was clean, but these kinds of situations make you feel unsafe and ruin the stay.
Comfortable stay!
Absolutely recommend it!!
This hostel adds sooo much value for what you pay for. Me personally, I loved the fact there was a co-working space for free, along with the free dinners. In terms of the room, it can be a bit noisy but the reception also provides you free earplugs which is such a win. The staff are super nice (special shout out to my friend Fritzz). The showers are pretty small but honestly you don’t notice with the rest of the value from the hostel. Met so many amazing people, was a great start to my journey.
my friend and i shared one of the female only dorms with two other people & we were lucky to get along with them. everything was really clean and organized and we had no trouble figuring out how to work things even though we don’t speak much italian. the staff was great & helpful and our stay was pretty much entirely relaxing. the only thing we had trouble with was when people were singing so late it was difficult to fall asleep. that being said we also understand that this hostel is known as a place to party & make connections! (the singing was pretty good too haha)
So clean, brilliant facilities excellent bed and shower and spacious rooms. Common area is a good vibe and it’s comfortable. Location is perfect easy to get to places and has good local restaurants
Great great place ! Everything that you could need travelling.. staff very kind ,Laura and Julio are the best ..
They have activities every day and also free pasta(dinner) with drink Monday to Thursday. 100% recommended..
I had a great experience at Yellowsquare. The receptionists were so kind, the bedding smelled clean & WAS clean. They ordered me a taxi no problem & were so incredibly helpful. As a female, I felt so safe.
I have already shared a Google review regarding this. We were expecting the common washrooms to be clean. However, the basin and toilet were covered in puke. The washroom was stinking
stop the loud bass on the main floor. people on the second floor hear it til 1130pm every night. sorry, we are not here to play games, we want to see things in Florence and so get sleep so we can do so. just turn the music down, it’s really that simple. also, pool is very cold, seems not heated, that should be advertised.
also, no outside alcohol? ahh…is that written somewhere before we sign up? we are not children, and are allowed to do what we want in our own room. and are you going through my bag of stuff in the public fridge? I can keep what I want in there, and I don’t even believe it’s legal for you to say what I can and cannot have..again, we need transparency from you here.
My first time in hostels however it was very nice and I enjoyed knowing new people also felt comfortable and safe.
Overall, my stay was good. The staffs were welcoming at the reception and the rooms are clean.
I travelled to Florence alone, and with the cost of hotel rooms soaring I chose instead to rent a private room at Yellowsquare; it was one of the best decisions of my trip. The staff were incredibly friendly, kind, and inviting; the hostel was clean, hip, and lively without being “too-much” in any way.
There was a feeling of being in a college dorm in the best way possible—bright, exuberant people around at all times but not suffocating, just living their lives parallel to yours. The food at the hostel was underrated (try the Yellow Caesar or the Schiaccata Paesana) and the communal spaces tranquil and relaxed.
I will definitely be staying here and sending friends here when circumstance brings any of us to Florence, and will check out their other locations as well.
