YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
The location was great, walking distance to everything. The hostel is near the Firmino station, clean, easy to find. My only problem was with the air conditioning that didn’t work in my room. Rome is a very hot city and the street was very noisy, so it was impossible to leave the window open at night.
I’d absolutely stay at YellowSquare in Rome or anywhere else they have one again! It was so clean, easy to navigate, had tons of activities and opportunities to meet people & was safe
Great hostel with a nice atmosphere, great activities and the common areas were nice as well! The bar was just across the street and was great as well!
This hostel is amazing, it has a perfect acomodation, good bar inside and location really near to trem station and bus stops. One 30min walk separates you from the center of the city, it’s really safe to do these walks inven at night. I really recommend this place.
We stayed in a 4 bed room with our own bathroom. It was really comfortable. The room was clean and tidy. The location is calm. It is also in a really good connection to the center and every other location in Rome. The staff was nice. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the breakfast across the street.
I really enjoyed staying at this hostel. The staff was super nice, friendly and also helpful. The rooms where clean and modern. The activities were super fun and well organized. You have a little locker at the end of your bed and also big lockers for your backpack and suitcase. I felt safe staying in the hostel. Overall I really enjoyed staying here and I definitely recommend this hostel!
The personal was exceptional, super nice. The room was okay, it was a good additional the safe.
The only thing is that the bathroom smelled a little bit and it was super tiny.
It was good, the staff was super friendly and attentive. Although the facilities are old, the hostel is very well organized
I stayed with my friend in a mixed shared room and it was our first time in this kind of accommodation, but we could have lived a better experience! Our room mates were so respectful and clean, and the atmosphere created a space that felt almost like home.
The staff was so friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived to the moment I left, they assisted with restaurant suggestions (which were fantastic) as well as just things to do and how to get there. They were very patient and knowledgeable. I had so much fun at this hostel and the events they offer are varied and plenty.
It’s my 3rd time in YellowSquare, 2nd time in Roma, and each time I come it’s better than the one before!
Really cool hostel, clean and seems new, I didn’t go to any activities but they had lots on, so would be easy to meet people. 10/10
Yellowsquare is great! I’ve stayed at all 3 locations now! Yellowsquare does a great job both in offering a place to stay, but also a community space for travelers and tourists alike.
The place is super cool, clean and everything is pretty new. There are lockers in the rooms so it feels safe to leave the stuff. It is more or less 20 mins walk to the center
The hostel and the atmosphere there was great. would definitely book again with Yellow square.
Clean and cozy hostel!
The hostel is very well equipped and it’s areas are really useful. The free earplugs are key to have good rest. The beds are pretty good, a bit uncomfortable to climb the ladder but it’s OK, not too noisy. The activities they plan really boost the experience. I loved how everything was set to contribute to meeting new people. Everyone was very friendly.
At first, i was a bit unsure about the loud social vibe, BUT the staff was amazing, i met lovely people, felt so included, had so much fun and loved the rooms, pasta, roof, everything clean. Honestly don’t know what could have been done better. Booked 2 nights, ended up staying 4:)
The location is very perfect to the center and transportation. The room where I stayed is clean and comfortable.
Clean hostel, friendly staff, nice location, …
Very nice hostel, clean and helpful staff. Many events for hostel guests available in reception.
Location is not the greatest for touristing around and later night drinks, well connected for during the day and to the Terminal, just not so much happening for beginning of the week.
Good place to sleep and have fun for a few days
Loved the bar, loved the discounts at the bar, and rooms were good. Only shame is that there was no curtain on the beds for a little more privacy, but the individual safes were good too.
I had such a wonderful stat in Rome and this hostel is a place to come back, indeed.
The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. The bathrooms clean and tidy. The terrace and pool are great! It is also quite a nice feature with a free pasta-dinner every day.
hostel is around 3–4min walk from M3 porta romana and only a few stops away from the milano dome. rooms were very clean, each bed had a personal safe (additional to the locker) right there and also a bed light and night stand. you can “close the courtains” for privacy with another bedsheet which is already provided. there’s a lot of events organized by yellowsquare, e.g. concerts, pub quizzes, yoga lessons, karaoke nights etc. the community kitchen was very clean, w/ free pasta and cereal provided by the hostel. staff was very friendly and helpful. would stay here again
The staff are friendly, the breakfast is a good size and is tasty! The place is trendy with comedy nights and a quiz night held, an all-round sociable atmosphere.
Very friendly environment, staff is great and very helpful, the rooms are spacious and confortable. Location is excellent, 5 min walk from the train station and 2 min walk from a bus that takes you directly to the Colosseum and to Fontana di Trevi. Made so many friends and the daily activities are very fun. You ca have free pasta for dinner form Monday to Thursday!:) Also you can find pasta (for you to cook), cereal, salt and oil for free in the kitchen!
The experience was very good. I really liked the service of the stuff, all of them very nice. I also liked the breakfast options and the design of the space, where you can work if you need during the day and have fun in the evenings at the bar and with the varied activities they organize. The room was clean, save and comfortable.
As a young woman, I felt very safe staying at this very clean hostel as the buildings surrounding it are family-owned restaurants. Bathrooms were clean and provided shampoo and body wash (I would have liked conditioner to be provided as well in the bathroom). They had safes to lock my important belongings in and locker/cage things under the beds to store your bigger belongings (bring your own lock). Easy access to public busses outside and very close to Villa Borghese park! I usually feel gross when I leave a hostel, but I 100% could have stayed an additional week and I wish I did because I didn’t want to leave Rome!
The location is good, close to the train station. The place had all the facilities you would generally need. The bar was lively, with cheap beer and good events/activities going on. The thing I did not like at all was the room. I paid extra for a “superior room” (Room 300) and I think the Italian for superior seems to be different than English..
The only thing I could see that was superior, was the bunk beds were a different style than the regular rooms. Beyond that everything seemed almost worse. The bathroom stunk of urine, you had to lean to one side while sat on the toilet, otherwise the sink was in your ribs. The tiles were grotty and broken. The shower also grotty, was very small, very hard to change while in there and not get your clothes wet from shower spray. And also the rooms main floor was old grotty tiles too. Strangely this rooms looks nothing like the photos from Hostelworld, so I did feel a bit hoodwinked.
Also one more tiny thing, you get 1 power socket next to your bed, and that is in use by the bedside lamp. So you have to choose between light and using the power socket. Also the socket is very high up, so when I had my plug adapter and then phone charger in that. So the whole plug arrangement was hanging out of the wall, not charging properly at times. Luckily I was able to prop the plug up using the lamp. But not ideal, I think there could be a better design.
The
I had a very nice stay with you! Will repeat 🙂
This hostel is probably one of the best I have stayed in. If you are looking for a social hostel which will allow you to meet great people, this is the place! The free pasta and bar were my favorite part! I would definitely stay again if I were to go back to Florence!
I liked how helpful and considerate were the staff and the rooms were pretty clean and new.
Loved the environment and decorations. Everything was very clean and staff was nice as well. Drinks were a little expensive compared to other hostels I’ve been in but food was well priced!
Hostel was clean and I liked the communal kitchen. Most of the people were around 25-30 years old, so not the best community for younger travellers. But overall everything was great!
