YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
Besides the snoring at night and how noisy people can get early in the morning, everything else was fine
I just wished they could fix my bed as well since I stayed there for a whole week and they could just change the sheets couple times ,overall not a bad experience if your main reason on this trip is not comfort.
I was only there for 1 night so I didn’t get to take advantage of all the activities but the overall experience was very nice, from the people and staff to the room that was impeccable and very clean. Also couldn’t hear anything going on downstairs or outside from the room l.
.
Nice experience, well locate, good service.
This was one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. The property is very clean and modern and has an upper deck pool that overlooks all of Florence. The staff were great to interact with and the food/drinks were good as well. The only thing I’d change is allowing guests of private rooms the ability to manage the room temp as our room got a bit hot/stuffy at times.
The staff was friendly & kind. The room was clean and the roommates also were respectful. I would definitely recommend it !
Each time I stay in this hostel I convince myself that it’s the best.
I like that each bed has its own plug, and appreciate all the available amenities.
However, it would be good to have mosquito nets on the windows (especially on the ground floor), as I got bit a lot. More charging options in the room would also be good.
Ladders unsteady and hard to climb (esp. at night)
Because the beds are made of metal, there is a fair amount of noise when people move in their sleep.
As a single American woman, I was hesitant to travel alone in a big city. This hostel made me feel safe while also giving me a young atmosphere and incorporating a great cultural experience!!!
Very good place to stay , very clean, weel located close to the train station (however this area is not the best one of Roma if think concerning the security…) The reception is open 24/24 hours which is very suitable if your plane arrives late. Great place to meet new people, there are a lot of solo travelers and the bar/nightclub in front of the hotel allowed me to meet new people very rapidly.
Dormitories are confortable, the bed was OK, bathroom as well, cleaned everyday …. unfortunalely my “roomates”wasn’t very clean and respectful about others but that’s the risk of sharing things with strangers.
Overall very recomendable place to stay, especially for solo travelers.
Wonderful spot to relax and recover at.
Everything was very well organized. I felt very welcome and there were lots of activities one could choose from. Obviously, there were mostly young people but even as an older person I didn’t feel out of place. I welcomed the possibility to have a curtain in fron of my bed, have a safe and a locker. It is also very conveniently located.
lovely staff! Nice scedule on the evenings. Good drinks. nice room!
Very clean and tidy, there was always someone cleaning.
Rooms: nice and organized. Clear rules. Separated (another building) from kitchen, reception an common places. Secure entrance with magnetic card.
Bathroom: clean, handy. 3 WC, 3 showers. They weren’t a lot but enough for the people that were there. I didn’t have to wait to use them.
Kitchen: had everything we needed to serve ourselves. Most of the people doesn’t cook
The hostel is cool and the staff are really nice… but the structure could be improven. In my experience, the major problem is that the beds do not have any kind of isolation, like curtains, for example, so the privacy is not really good and also if you are a person that wakes up easily with noise and light, your sleep will not be the best.
Another point that I have to write about it, is the cleanliness… it’s not that good. The floor of the shower area was not nicely clean and everytime someone tooks a shower, all the bathromm floor remained wet, because didn’t have any kind of vedation.
Anyway, the size of the rooms was good, the atmosphere was nice and they have a lot of events that will help you meet people, so if you are traveling alone, that’s pretty nice.
I loved the hostel. I think the pasta class should get more attention because that was awesome!
I had a very great stay at Yellowsquare Rome! I only stayed for one night but i felt comfortable the whole time. I had a very early arrival and i was able to leave my bags and use all of the common areas until my room was ready which helped lots.
Helpful staff, great atmosphere, clean bathrooms, would recommend to anyone
YellowSquare Florence is the absolute best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Great vibe and good community! I will be back!
Noise and loud voices in the hall at 3am,
Bunk beds without any separation or curtain for a bit of intimacy,
Welcoming not so great, an hostel should be a greeting place where you’re happy to land and we make you feel so
70€ for such a poor experience is really stealing a traveller’s money
Me and my sister enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back
Overall my stay was great, great reception and staff, the room and toilet with a decent size and cleanliness. The only problem was on the karaoke night that I could hear the music from my room on the secod floor, which was a bit annoing since I had to wake up early on the next day.
The place was clean and the service was amazing. Everyone was so kind.
I waited to write my review since this was my first stay at a hostel and it honestly was above and beyond everywhere else I stayed on my trip. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and cleaned daily. The rooftop pool and bar were such fun amenities, and there was also a changing room available to me before I could check in which was so nice after a long day of travel. I had 2 folks help me at registration and I don’t know their names but they were both so sweet and helpful, and honestly all the staff I encountered were super kind. The atmosphere was also super fun in the common spaces it was so easy to meet people. The location is also perfect it’s so close to the tram and a short walk to the city and train station!
Staff super kind. Common areas are very nice. Good environment. Wifi works well all the time. The place is clean.
I had an amazing stay at YellowSquare in Rome, which far exceeded all my expectations. The hostel’s vibrant atmosphere and modern amenities made it a perfect base for exploring the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure guests had everything they needed. The location is ideal for tourists, offering easy access to major sights and local hotspots. YellowSquare isn’t just a place to stay; it’s where adventure begins in Rome. Highly recommended for any traveler looking for an unforgettable experience!
The staff were incredibly kind and respectful, and I had a lovely time staying at the hostel. The only piece of feedback I have is that the metal material the bunk beds were made out of was very loud, so it was difficult to stay quiet for my roommates. I don’t know how this might change, but if there could be some way to minimize the noise that would be helpful.
The room has no natural light, the bathroom was too small, and we have to cross the street to access to the hostel that we saw on pictures.
Clean, secure, comfortable, and eventful.
Only downside was that it was a bit expensive per night.
I would say I was overall satisfied with the hostel, it was clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful, and it was in a pretty good location. My roommates drove me crazy, lacking the basics of respect when sharing a space with someone. They had conversations at 3am, turned the lights on at obscene hours, and were very unwelcoming. I didn’t appreciate not having any privacy curtain on my bed, everyone had to sacrifice sheets or a towel to make one. I can’t blame the hostel for its guests, because the staff was amazing and it was generally a very nice place. Due to the nature of it being a party hostel, however, it is important to note that it would probably attract that type of person. I love to party as well, but when I’m in my room I like to sleep. Also, the drying machine in the laundry room was out of service which was hugely inconvenient. The lockers were the perfect size for my small suitcase and bag which I appreciated not having to check it. They sell locks for very cheap so don’t worry about it if you don’t own one.
The place is better than other hostels I have stayed
We are both happy on be able on visiting you another time (me and my couple)
The hostel had the best vibe. The events were so fun and it’s so convenient it being just across the road. The room was spacious and clean and all the staff were super friendly. I was a solo female traveller and would definitely go back.
the staff working were lovely and were really helpful when you had questions about getting around rome! the room was perfect for our stay, had the basics of what you needed and did the job for when your needing to shower and sleep!
the bar across the street was great for drinks and something to eat, has activities to take part in too.
Had such a great time there, I was solo tripping for the first time so I was scared to make friends but they had so many social events (free ones too!) and a whole group chat which was amazing! Location is also prime 🙂
