YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
Everything was excellent, from the bar downstairs, to the staff, free pasta and the nice dorms. Only downsides are the small showers in the rooms. But I have really only seen the room I stayed in.
We arrived after midnight and were greeted with a free upgrade, which was amazing after a long and very delayed travel day
I loved this hostel, I met a lot of great people there during my stay thanks to the bar across the street. They provide free pasta and one drink for free. There were many other solo travelers. The hostel room was clean and in the bathroom they had shampoo and shower gel to use. The ladders to the upper bunks were metal which I didn’t like but you can’t have everything.
The woman at the reception was very rude and had a bad way of saying things. Also the room that was given had no daylight and was a corner room and was very stuffy. I was very pleased with the hostel in Rome. But this is the second time I have stayed in Milan, people have changed and unfortunately my experience this time was bad.
Everything was set up well and kept clean and tidy. The social activities are great to meet other people in the hostel too.
I really enjoyed this hostel. It is super social and having a bar is a plus. The location was also quite good with only a short metro ride to the centre. The only downsides was the noise from the club underneath and not having curtains. Other than this it was amazing.
Vibes were definitely there and you could tell they have put time into thinking of the details to enhance the experience. Would def stay again if I needed to and would recommend to others.
I’d recommend 100%! Very clean and safe! I liked the people I was sharing the room with.
Overall great, safe, clean, and comfortable. Nice staff, okay location a small walk to the city or bus/ metro which is 10 minutes away
The rooms were great, the bar and common area was always packed and the staff made sure everyone was engaged and having fun which is important when you are solo traveling and want to meet new people.
I liked the hostel. I booked a shoebox dorm wich wasn’t too small at all and the hostel itself was pretty clean and I really liked the terrace.
The kitchen wasn’t equipped really good tho.
The hostel has a warm and kindly staff. They are always available for help. You can breathe a good atmosphere in here. It has a nice bar where you can have a fresh breakfast.
Great staff, great vibe and lots of fun – will be back
Thanks to Paulina and Nathalie! They’re the best!!
The price is right for the beauty of the premises, although the hostel is far from the center. The outdoor terrace and rooftop are great, although the noise from the big road below is unpleasant (but that’s how it is).
The common areas and rooms are pleasantly clean. On the other hand, the kitchen (especially the tables) is often dirty, but it’s the travelers who aren’t very respectful, it’s not the hostel’s fault.
Room had a funky smell and was way too hot! Also, staff was bare minimum friendly. Maybe I had a hard time with such a large hostel, but I didn’t love the lack of community/social environment (outside the bar).
I had a great experience at YellowSquare hostel! So nice environment! Good location! 2 minutes from a metro station that goes directly to the airport and the city center! Every night, they had a special event: karaoke, quiz, cook classes. They also have free pasta every night for dinner! I ate pesto, which was delicious!
Please be aware that they charge you a city fee. I had to pay 16€ for the 3 nights I spent there. There are also no towels in the rooms, and if you don’t label your food very carefully, they throw it away daily.
The terrace with the swimming pool is super cool!
It’s awesome
The set-up of the hostel is Amazing. The reception is also a bar in a café-ish situation. There’s a swimmingpool at the rooftop. The beds are good. The overall vibe between people, I love the diversity in staff, they are open, helpful, sweet and they really made the hostel to be honest.
The hostel has a great atmosphere, and the facilities are generally clean. The staff is very kind and beloved, which makes the stay pleasant. However, the bathrooms in the rooms are in poor condition and need serious improvement. The walls have exposed bricks or signs of heavy moisture, and during the two days I stayed, I never saw the bathrooms cleaned or mopped after everyone used them. Another issue is the shower setup—it’s not enclosed, so water splashes everywhere, making the bathroom even dirtier
I loved de hostal! Definitely staying there again and recommending it!!!
Friendly environment, great staff, top notch service
I loved staying in the 4 bed female dorm. I made really cool friends and always had someone to go exploring with. The room was always clean and the bathroom was amazing. Super clean and everything worked perfectly. I would highly recommend staying at this Hostel if visiting Milan. It is also super close to the metro for traveling purposes.
Best hostel I’ve been at! Great socializing, young crowd, always something to do!
There were a lot of amenities on site which made things easier upon arrival. The Yellow Bar is a great amenity. It is lively and fun. The free pasta is a nice touch and the games they organized are a fun way to get to know people. I stayed at another hostel that had a group chat that had key information and the staff hosted events every day. I think YellowSquare could adopt this as well and use the group chat as a means to keep people updated on events and items of interest.
This was the first hostel I ever stayed in as a solo traveller so I was very nervous when it came to talking to new people. But everyone was so lovely and friendly. All the staff were happy to help at all times. The bar was amazing for coffees and drinks. So incredibly clean and you get a good amount of privacy in your rooms. The girls I had in my room were some of the nicest girls I’ve met. Same to be said about all the other people I met too! Highly highly recommend. Will definitely be coming back, miss it too much x
It was so clean and everybody were so nice and helping!
I loved it!
This is a great social hostel located close to the Porta Romana metro station about 25 mins from the main Milano Centrale station so great location. There are quite a few social events on each day such as the hidden gems walking tour and the Karoke/Beerpong night. Very clean facilities I was in a 4 bed female dorm and really enjoyed making new friends here. About a 30 minute walk to the duomo, galleria, and other landmarks. Overall a really great experience and can get breakfast, lunch and dinner here also.
Perfect hostel for young solo travelers. Easy to meet people. Good atmosphere
It’s perfect for young people, everyday events are great, employees are friendly. Only thing I’d change, in some way washing machine is too expensive and big (I’d like to wash things every 2-3 days, and it would be almost empty…), so it would be better to add some solution. Another point to improve is beep sound of safe, maybe it can be disabled? And dishes in the kitchen in some way dirty, but that more question to people who stay in hostel.
Anyway experience is great I’d recommend to all this place!
This is an honest review of my experience with Yellow Square Florence hostel. The hostel is very well organized and the staff is really sweet and helpful. The F&B is affordable and the venue has various amenities and community building activities. The only disadvantage is that it is located near the airport so you need to travel a good 40 mins to reach the center and explore.
Really nice hostel, both parents (52 years) and kids 18 (years) loved this place. Nice activites. Great restaurant and also the rooms where to eat your own food. Roof top pool with a great view.
We arrived with car and really appreciated the parking garage.
Good place to stay. Downstairs bar and common area is very nice and provides good atmosphere to meet people and make friends. Rooms are spacious but bathrooms are a bit cramped and could be cleaner. Roms have secure lockers to store belongings. Staff are very friendly.
I recently stayed at Yellowsquare Rome and had an incredible time! This was my first time staying at a hostel and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. It was easy to make friends. Being next to the train station made getting around to my other destinations a breeze. Staff was super welcoming and information. Omar in particular was great! He helped me book my train ticket for the next leg of my trip and made sure everyone was doing okay coming back in late at night. Overall a lovely experience!!
Facilities A1, Community A1 – can’t ask for more. Activities every night, free food, reasonably priced bar – the staff set the tone to this place.
YES
I liked it
Yellow square in Florence was very welcoming. It was a great relaxed and friendly environment for solo travels and being able to talk to new people. I loved the activities they had set up every day and night, e.g run club, drinking games, getting to know people activities. The hostel itself was clean and organized. Would definitely recommend!
Immediately, staff was kind. They seem to enjoy each other and have fun, and you can feel it.
The common spaces are inviting, fun, and social. A space that feels dedicated to meeting new cool people.
Rooms are clean and well maintained daily.
Bar is stocked and drinks are yummy and very reasonably priced.
I would strongly recommend to anyone who wants to have a great time travelling.
