YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
Was all perfect, lovely staff, nice games, good drinks. However, there should be some towels available at the pool and the privacy courtains could be advertised more proactively.
The accommodation was very comfortable and conveniently located. It has a kitchen which was very useful and a great bar just across the street which was very nice had a great atmosphere..
Such a fun and social hostel with a lot of activities and great common spaces!
One of the best hostel I was on my life
The rooms are rly clean and the people are awesome. If u like a social hostel this is the place. They host bunch of activities like dance classes, karaoke and art nights. So if u dont have any plans for the night u could just join the hostel activities which I loved. Definitely a big recommendation. Only downside was that the bunk beds and everytjing is made lf metal so staying quiet is rly hard. Everytime u accidentally toucj or hit smth its rly rly loud. I highly recommend earplugs bc the hostel is quiet busy and loud till very late. But if u have earplugs this is not even a problem. 🙂
I really enjoyed my stay at YellowSquare Milan. The staff were all very welcoming and the people were fun to be around. Frequent events made it easy to socialize and make friends
Must stay for Florence
This place is great if you’re 18-24. As a 26-year-old I felt like everyone was younger than me – I didn’t feel out of place but I felt like everyone was around 21 and I wasn’t going to meet many people my age that I would really gel with. Other than that, it’s brilliant – clean, great facilities, lovely staff, rooftop pool is amazing. It’s nice that you get free pasta every night but the pasta is very basic.
Great vibes, friendly staff, nice food & drinks & last but not least lovely rooftop with pool!
Unfortunately, our stay was really uncomfortable and not suitable for somebody with accessibility needs. I was travelling with my mother (60s), and she is quite short and suffers from movement limitations and chronic pain. On the first day she took a nap on one of the single beds, which was not anchored in anyway and slid away from the wall as she was trying to get out of bed, causing her to fall between the bed and window, leading to a giant bump on her head, dizziness and confusion for days (we were only in Dublin for 5 days). This impacted the rest of her trip entirely. She also struggled with the height of the bed to get in and out of it, there was no railing and there was not enough space between between beds to support getting in and out without difficultly. The rooms are TINY. the cupboards were too high for her to access things and nothing was labelled, making it difficult for her to remember where to look with her suffering memory.
Door way into the washroom was not wide enough, and space between front door and washroom door was dismal and made it difficult to move any support equipment into the room/bathroom.
When I asked the front desk if there was a way to secure the bed, they said it wasn’t possible and told me they could give my mom ice. It took me asking more than 5 times and offering solutions before they said they could look into options but that we would have to wait until the next day so they could call in maintenance. There was no follow up, no remediation (ie, like a complimentary meal or breakfast or even just a soda), literally didn’t even ask how things were going in any capacity. And there was also no option to be reimbursed for our remaining unused nights so that we could book a hotel that was suitable for my mothers needs.
Just really disappointing.
I have stayed at Yellowsquare in Milan and Rome but I would say the Florence one was the best. It was clean and new like the one in Milan with the social vibes and amenities of the one in Rome. Location was pretty good, not far from a tram station that takes you directly into the centre. I thought the club would be a problem but you couldn’t hear anything from my 1st floor room. Free pasta is the best thing to happen to me .. helpful staff, good quiz night, easy laundry although a bit expensive. Only thing was the shower leaked everywhere but I guess there’s always got to be something going wrong in a hostel!
Had a wonderful time thanks to the people I met. I feel thats down to the social atmosphere that the team created.
Great that there is free Pasta! Good to have Safes, but the AC doesn’t work inside the rooms.
Great rooms, great staff, affordable breakfast and bar. Great atmosphere.
This hostel was perfect. I was looking for a place that was in a central location that was easy to navigate from, this hostel fit the bill exactly. It’s close enough to Roma Termini that I was able to travel around Rome (and elsewhere) very easily. I was a little concerned about the noise levels as the bar is across the road but honestly you can barely hear the music from the rooms.
This is the best hostel in Rome!
We enjoyed so much at this hostel. The staff here are so warm and welcoming. All the services were really nice and up to the mark.
We had a wonderful five-night stay at Yellowsquare Rome. It was easy to find, just a short walk from Roma Termini station. There were three of us in a four-person bedroom located next to the bar. The room was clean, spacious, and the beds were super comfy. The place also has laundry, a co-working space, and a bar, plus it’s near grocery stores and restaurants. The staff is friendly, helpful, and multilingual.
There was just one small downside: the noise from the bar could be heard in our room until around 1 or 2 AM, which might be a bit disruptive if you’re hoping for a quiet night’s sleep. Overall, though, our stay was fantastic.
The hostel really exceeded my expectations – convenient location, great vibes, friendly staff. I especially liked the various activities and events offered by the hostel – met some amazing people there who made the trip even better.
Great hostel with an amazing atmosphere, good activities and a nice location. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and want to come back as soon as possible!
Great People and much fun
If u think about it
Just book it☝️
Our stay at the hostel was great. The staff was excellent, and the activities and environment were fun and perfect for meeting people.
So many good people great staff cleanses 10/10 and that’s a lot coming from me because I have severe ocd when it comes to hygiene just all veautiful
Clean. Safe. Nice atmosphere. Staff were really lovely. Free nachos and Pasta for dinner which were pretty good. Has a lift which is nice if you’re too tired for the stairs. Only a short walk from Roma Termini which is super handy. Plenty of opportunities to meet other travelers in the chill-out room, kitchen, bar, reception area, etc. Great showers. Good restaurants only a few meters away. Probably more suited to a twenty-something traveler, but I met a lot of really nice people.
The rooms were perfect and very clean. Ensuite bathroom was spotless. Kitchen was slightly dirty and disorganized, with not a whole lot of cutlery or plateware. Could use some work.
The place was good but they need to give more activities to the guests I’ve been in others hostels where they have more activities than just a bar at night
I got some allergic symptomes in my bed that became worst each night. According to my searches on Google, I had allergies about dust mites. It was my first time. It says on google that humid and hot rooms are places where dust mites go, in the mattress and the pillows. This was the case of my room, also with a bathroom with no fan. I asked to change de sheets and pillow, but it didn’t help. I didn’t sleep at all for my 3nd night. I had to go get some medication in the morning. But, other than that, I liked the pool and the view on top of the hostel. Staff was very nice and events were a grate way to meet other travellers. Breakfast was good too. Thanks for the vegererian options. Also the cooking class was nice. I would recommand!
I recently stayed at Hostel and had a great experience. The location is excellent—close to public transportation, shops, and restaurants, making it easy to explore Milan. The staff was very friendly and helpful, always ready to give local tips or help with any needs
Staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were good quality and clean, nice social events ok each evening, a very pleasant experience!
I really appreciated the hostel : clean, nice, lots of things to do, lots of options…
Nice place 🙂
I was met with friendly service. My room was spotless along with the restroom. My room was organized everyday and I really hated to leave. Great stay, great deal. I already posted on my social media for my friends to stay here!
Everythibg was great: amazing people, amazing atmosphere, very clean and organised! Absolutely loved it!
The experience, attention, and service they offer are truly excellent. I felt safe the entire time. The room and bathroom were always clean. There was access to the kitchen, refrigerator, paid laundry, discounts at the bar, free dinner, and an excellent atmosphere. Without a doubt, I’ll stay there again when I return to Rome
