YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
The stay was really good! The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were clean. A Highlight of the Yellowsquare ist defenitly the bar with free Pasta everyday.
The Activities were great and there was Something for everybody.
You can meet new people very easy and everybody was very nice.
Also the kitchen was really really good. They have everything you need to cook Something and also have free Pasta for you to cook and free cereal and Müsli.
I Loved my stay at the Hostel and wish i could have stayed longer :.))
The staff we very helpful whenever you needed them, very sympathetic. The activities were fun, the room was clean. Bed was comfortable. The bar across made it easier to meet with people. And the location was great too, only a few minutes walking distance from the train station! really appreciate the free earplugs and tampons.
We had the “Superior” Private Room. Superior was only the price. The only difference to the standard is the small balcony which is definitely not worth the money. The bathroom wasn´t properly cleaned when we arrived (black hairs on the floor). The small room had only one little chair and a small table. It is forbidden to bring your own beer (they like to sell it on their own bar). After we left I realized I forgot my cap in the room and gave them a call. They told me they found the cap and I should give them a detailed description or send them a photo. I asked I f they would send me the cap if i do so. The answer: “This is not a service we provide”. The only thing they are interested in is obviously that you leave your money at the place. The nights were noisy. When the party noise stopped around 5´clock in the morning the noise oft the city cleaning service emptying the glass containers began.
The place has a good location, the staff is very friendly and help you a lot. But the bed in rooms are very uncomfortable, and the bathroom was not working good. You have to push several times to get water, but this no one knows and you can imagine this sharing the toilet with 8 people! 😓
YellowSquare was a great hostel. Has a solo women traveling, I felt so safe and it was very clean. The staff was very nice and fun. It’s a fun hostel with many activities and opportunities to make new friends and have a good time. Thank you to everyone there!
Had a great time in Florence because YellowSquare had everything I needed. Appreciated the standing lockers, free bodywash, and the regular cleaning. The events also seemed nice although I didn’t get time to attend. I was in a dorm with other solo travelers and we hung out together! Only small drawback is the location, we had to walk a bit to get to the city center. But it was clear before I booked.
Was an amazing hostel to stay in amenities were great and staff were super helpful
The community and facilities were great! The bar is always lovely, with different activities nearly every night. It was super easy to meet new people. The free pasta for guests was amazing! Only draw back was the lockers felt a bit small in the rooms.
I loved the vibes, the spaces, and the amenities. I was disappointed about the cleanliness of the rooms and ventilation.
Definitely recommend. Clean place, friendly staff, good facilities, good location – 35ish mins to airport.
I am really enjoying in Yellow Square. 10/10
Zalig hostel, uniek met zen rooftop pool in hartje Firenze! Happy hour, free pasta,… All worth it !
Awesome conditions
Events
Nice staff and guests
Close to train station
The staff were super helpful and made me feel right at home. I’m not sure if all hostels have an iron, but they did, and it really helped me out. It is located near Termini station so it is easy access to airport.
The room was clean, check in and check out was super efficient, and all the staff were really friendly!!
was a very lovely hostel, friendly and clean 🙂
All the staff were good and room was lovely and clean, the free pasta and free drink was a nice touch too.
I really liked my expérience at yellow square florence, the place made me feel like i was on vacation and it felt accessible to meet other young travelers and make friends, the food is great and the service too.
Clean, located right next to transportation for easy access to city. Lots of events each day for guests and very polite/helpful staff. Easily the best hostel I’ve been to with great price. The food and drinks were also good prices and the pool was clean and nice.
It was a great hostel. Awesome events and lovely staff.
Never felt more safe or at home! Incredible place to stay
My stay was really pleasant. I had the chance to meet other solo travellers in both hostel and the bar-restaurant right in front of it. What I didn’t like was the mattress, quite uncomfortable and almost without filling in the middle part. Also, there was no proper curtain to get a bit of privacy in the bunker bed. If you wanted, you had to use the sheet of the mattress.
Amazing Stay – Highly Recommend!
I had a fantastic experience at this hostel. The location is perfect — close to everything you need. The rooms were clean, spacious, and really comfortable. The food and drinks were great, and I especially appreciated the awesome coffee and cookies!
One of the best things was the nightly events. They created a super friendly and social atmosphere, making it easy for everyone to meet and connect. Massive shoutout to Luciano, the Argentinian guy — he was super nice and absolutely hilarious. He really added to the vibe of the place.
All in all, a great stay. Would definitely come back!
First of all the place is situated very close to the train station with is really good makes commute easy. Alot of affordable restaurants around. They also provide free pasta every day between 6-8. The room was cleaned every day which was a good thing.
Coming to the problems. The rooms were way smaller in real life when you see it personally. Every morning when i had a shower the water was ice cold and when i informed the guy at the reception he said we cant do anything about it as its the buildings problem so please manage. Which was very rude of him. Also i saw people checking in got a toad bag which was selectively not given to me which i dont know why. There were lockers for post/pre checkout to deposit luggage and use for a euro a day. As they didnt have the locker to fit my bag they just kept it with them for free which was very confusing and nonuniform treatment.
Overall the experience did not do justice to the price i paid for a dome room. I worked suggest to travel in pairs in Rome and book a room in a hotel or a hostel.
If you just need to drink and party yes this is the place.
Was all perfect, lovely staff, nice games, good drinks. However, there should be some towels available at the pool and the privacy courtains could be advertised more proactively.
The accommodation was very comfortable and conveniently located. It has a kitchen which was very useful and a great bar just across the street which was very nice had a great atmosphere..
Such a fun and social hostel with a lot of activities and great common spaces!
One of the best hostel I was on my life
The rooms are rly clean and the people are awesome. If u like a social hostel this is the place. They host bunch of activities like dance classes, karaoke and art nights. So if u dont have any plans for the night u could just join the hostel activities which I loved. Definitely a big recommendation. Only downside was that the bunk beds and everytjing is made lf metal so staying quiet is rly hard. Everytime u accidentally toucj or hit smth its rly rly loud. I highly recommend earplugs bc the hostel is quiet busy and loud till very late. But if u have earplugs this is not even a problem. 🙂
I really enjoyed my stay at YellowSquare Milan. The staff were all very welcoming and the people were fun to be around. Frequent events made it easy to socialize and make friends
Must stay for Florence
This place is great if you’re 18-24. As a 26-year-old I felt like everyone was younger than me – I didn’t feel out of place but I felt like everyone was around 21 and I wasn’t going to meet many people my age that I would really gel with. Other than that, it’s brilliant – clean, great facilities, lovely staff, rooftop pool is amazing. It’s nice that you get free pasta every night but the pasta is very basic.
Great vibes, friendly staff, nice food & drinks & last but not least lovely rooftop with pool!
Unfortunately, our stay was really uncomfortable and not suitable for somebody with accessibility needs. I was travelling with my mother (60s), and she is quite short and suffers from movement limitations and chronic pain. On the first day she took a nap on one of the single beds, which was not anchored in anyway and slid away from the wall as she was trying to get out of bed, causing her to fall between the bed and window, leading to a giant bump on her head, dizziness and confusion for days (we were only in Dublin for 5 days). This impacted the rest of her trip entirely. She also struggled with the height of the bed to get in and out of it, there was no railing and there was not enough space between between beds to support getting in and out without difficultly. The rooms are TINY. the cupboards were too high for her to access things and nothing was labelled, making it difficult for her to remember where to look with her suffering memory.
Door way into the washroom was not wide enough, and space between front door and washroom door was dismal and made it difficult to move any support equipment into the room/bathroom.
When I asked the front desk if there was a way to secure the bed, they said it wasn’t possible and told me they could give my mom ice. It took me asking more than 5 times and offering solutions before they said they could look into options but that we would have to wait until the next day so they could call in maintenance. There was no follow up, no remediation (ie, like a complimentary meal or breakfast or even just a soda), literally didn’t even ask how things were going in any capacity. And there was also no option to be reimbursed for our remaining unused nights so that we could book a hotel that was suitable for my mothers needs.
Just really disappointing.
I have stayed at Yellowsquare in Milan and Rome but I would say the Florence one was the best. It was clean and new like the one in Milan with the social vibes and amenities of the one in Rome. Location was pretty good, not far from a tram station that takes you directly into the centre. I thought the club would be a problem but you couldn’t hear anything from my 1st floor room. Free pasta is the best thing to happen to me .. helpful staff, good quiz night, easy laundry although a bit expensive. Only thing was the shower leaked everywhere but I guess there’s always got to be something going wrong in a hostel!
