YellowSquare Reviews: Florence
YellowSquare Florence provides female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms. We have an easy working space in the shared areas where you can grab a coffee and work at the tables before or after check-in. For daily activities and food, Barmezzo has a restaurant and events every day like karaoke, quizzes, and beerpong. Bargiu is where the cool events happen featuring live music, dj sets and stand-up comedy that brings together locals and travelers. During the summer, you can head up to Barsu, our rooftop pool bar where social parties take place with a view.
Lovely hostel, friendly people and great facilities would definitely recommend to anyone who stays in Florence!
Yellowsquare was perfect because everyone there was young and looking to have fun! 10/10 would return!
The facilities were better than any other hostel. There is even a club in the hostel. There are a lot of activities during the week.
All the staff were so lovely and helpful, the hostel was very clean and i found it pretty easy to meet people and make friends which is something i was worried about as a solo traveller. They offered breakfast lunch and dinner however they didn’t seem to have much dairy free food so i could never eat there, would be nice to see there dairy free food options expand 🙂
Really enjoyed my stay
Pool is great and really social for guests
Views great
Clean and modern
Breakfast was good
No bed curtains
Hello
The room was very cleaned – shower and toilet was to small for 8 Persons.
I used the staying only for business . For me it was important to connect with guest .
But in case I will stay privat longer it would be nice to check also the age before you select the room mates 🙂
There are a lot of volunteers working here – I recommend to make a tour in the city to explore.
Regarding the breakfast it was only for the American Guest I recommend to make also something for the Europe People.
Rate for washing should be cheaper than 4€
For this reason I can give only 5 stars instead of 10.
Also I booked 7 nights and don’t get any discount which was also not nice at all …
Thanks and see you soon
Daniel from Austria
The music at the bar/reception is quite loud, that makes it difficult to understand the important details when arriving.
Rooftop pool looked exciting but I had no time to try it. Easy to get in contact with other young grown ups, several activities offered. It’s possible to have breakfast and other food, decoration fits the target group.
Bathroom (floor) of 4-girls-room was not as tidy as I would have wished. Thin wall of the bathroom which allows for every sound to come through.
Curtains make the whole room dark, that’s good.
For the locker you need to bring your own lock if I understood correctly. But it felt safe to keep it open as well.
Did not want to walk from the train station on my own as I wasn’t sure if it would be safe. Public transport is good and cheap (1,70€) compared to my home country.
There are restaurants in the neighborhood (few tourists).
Our stay was great however some things could have been better. We could hear whenever someone was passing in the corridor, light came through the curtains in the morning and the shower pressure was very low
Very interesting accommodation culture, the hotel provides a wealth of activities, so that the guests can play together! I love throwing neon make-up disco parties! Of course the rooftop pool and view is the best night, it’s amazing! I love you much! Hope to have the opportunity to stay again!
The art in this place and the dope layout of the rooms was awesome! It made our travels that much more enjoyable. We loved that the registration desk was connected to the bar, and we love the activities that were offered through the hostel. We love love loved our stay, and shout out to the people working there that made it even better!
Very nice place, super friendly people and staff, DELICIOUS breakfast and so many fun activities to do through the hostel! Overall very happy with my stay here, would definitely recommend!
The hostel is located central enough for the city center to be reachable by a medium walk (the public transport is located close by too, just havent figured out how to use it).
The rooms are spacious, the beds comfy (and the ability to add a curtain is a great touch). The bar staff and drinks are excellent (and pretty affordable). The community kitchen was also quite big, although some dishes were short in availabilty (like glasses).
We didnt get to use the rooftop pool due to the weather but if the standards there match with the overall look, it should be great!
I loved staying at Yellow Square Florence as it had so many great accommodations, everything was clean and the staff was generally amazing. I wish I could remember names…
Unfortunately it wasn’t advertised as a “party” hostel which is very much what it felt to be like during the days I was there. This influences lots of younger kids to stay here to get their party on, which is great. However for some who are looking for a quiet place to enjoy wine at the hostel after a long day of traveling or visiting the city there’s little to no options. The music is too loud to even try and relax and the partiers keep volume to a maximum…often louder than the music.
This isn’t a huge complaint but it is the key reason the rating isn’t higher. A quiet place, like the garden after hours for people who just want to sit and chat peacefully, be on the phone with family, or just wind down before bed would be ideal. Still not as quiet as most would like but would be better than the latter.
The room we had was much too small for 6 people in comparison to other hostels. It was also very dirty. We were stopped and bugged by a staff member as we were walking through the lobby because he wanted us to partake in the karaoke party that was happening and that was not needed.
Very good vibe in the hostel, very very well located and clean.
Everything was great. The staff were really nice and helpful. There were lots of fun different activities provided by the hostel.
Great! A bit hot in the room.
Great atmosphere, nice rooms, and a great place to meet fellow travellers.
When checking in the music was a bit too loud and I couldn’t really hear the person at reception.
The bathroom in the room got really gross and the floor flooded whenever anyone showered
People were smoking on the roof making it uncomfortable to be up there
Great location, very clean, friendly people
What I loved about this hostel were facilities (suds as the pool) the spacious dorms and the cleanliness of the rooms. It was a bit of a walk to the city centre but there is public transport nearby. I assume they also accommodate bigger groups whereas I would have preferred a more personal approach. Instead of general activistes like tote bag painting I rather have a tour to explore Florence or trip to the wine region.
A fab place to stay, very friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The rooftop pool is amazing and they seemed to host lots of social events.
This was one of the best hostels we have ever been too! The vibe was amazing and the staff and atmosphere was so welcoming.
This was amazing. I wish my stay in Milan was half as nice. The rooftop pool had a beautiful view of Florence and the mountains. They have super fun activities every night. The rooms were great and clean!
This hostel was awesome! The rooms and amenities were nice, the bar and club staff were awesome, and the people were great! My one night at this hostel was truthfully some of the most fun I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend staying here!
We had a great experience at Yellow Square. We met an amazing group of friends and enjoyed being able to eat breakfast with the in the mornings at the hostel. The pool was closed for half of our stay which was disappointing
This place is really great! Everything is very clean, always running events, the breakfast and coffee is really affordable and delicious, the location is pretty good (easy to walk places from here), the rooms are nice and comfortable, and the whole place is colourful and has a cool vibe with lots of seating. The only thing I would change is the bathroom situation – not sure if it was only my room but the hook for towels was outside the shower and you can’t lock the door so kind of awkward. Otherwise, everything was great!
Overall it was pretty good. I liked the rooftop and the lobby was quite nice too. Also ask for an extra bed sheet to use as a curtain! Other than that, the dryer didn’t dry my clothes and there was a volunteer that would always touch my shoulders/back when he talked to me which made me very uncomfortable.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hostel! The check-in and bar area was very welcoming and we enjoyed getting coffee and drinks there a few times. We also loved hanging out on the front patio!
The staff were absolutely great right from the start very caring. The activities which are put on are so good as it makes it a lot easy to socialise with other travellers especially if your solo.
So much to do in the hostel! Workers were so nice and helpful and really made our experience so great. Wolf one of the workers was just the best!!
Great installations abd services. The guys in the reception are extremely kind (Damiano the Best). The lobby área is always in a party mood but there’s a efficent isolation between the bedroom área.
I have been traveling for 20 days and this one is the best hostel I had been. I love the atmosphere and vibes of the place, staff is very friendly, relax and helpful. It’s a place where I will fo back for sure!
Check in was a breeze, everyone was so nice and really fun touches to make it a social place.
This was such a good hostel, really friendly people at the check in and bar and like minded guests. You could buy food on site which was awesome when I was feeling a bit lazy but there was also a communal kitchen. The hostel offered activities each day, I attended the cooking class which was amaaazing! There’s a pool on the top deck but the weather was pretty terrible while I was here so it wasn’t open, looked very pretty though. Luggage storage was available before check in and after check out. The hostel is a bit out of the way from the town centre but relatively close to the main train station and there’s a tram stop just down the road so you don’t have to walk far
My stay at Yellowsquare was the best out of any hostel I’ve stayed at throughout Europe in the 2 months I’ve been travelling. From the moment I walked in I felt super welcomed by all the staff and the rooms were spectacular, I loved that you couldn’t hear any outside noise with the windows shut. The rooms were always super clean and are a great size and the beds and locker situation is awesome. I really appreciated the activities, the fact that they were all free, there was multiple to chose from throughout the day and that they weren’t solely drink focused was great and I got to enjoy a few of them in the week I was there. The entire experience felt super luxurious for a hostel, I wish it was sunny enough to enjoy the pool but I’m sure that would be a blast in summer too.
Had an amazing time at florence yellow square, there were so many activities to do and staff and guests were lovely and welcoming, felt very safe the whole time. Bartender Akilli was the best!
Yellowsquare Florence was definitely one of the best hostels I have stayed in everyone who works there is very helpful and everything is very clean.
