YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
I had an amazing time at Yellow square, staff were exceptional. plenty of events, great for solo travelers.
Not really serious staff or friendly.
Free pasta every day (not the best but free), one free beer/wine to every customer, Nice staff, lots of activities hosted, free tampons, and i liked the design of the place. Retning a towel was only 1€, really cheap. Best hostel we were at during our interrail trip.
First time staying at any hostel and I couldn’t be happier, beds were better than expected, place was extremely clean and nice. The vibe was always positive. Met some amazing people and had a blast. The location was also great, just far enough to be away from tourist area but not far enough for it to be a long walk. Will stay here again in the future
There was no distilled water available. We had to go to the communal kitchen to boil hot water ourselves. Yet, it is tap water. There were not any complimentary fruits or snacks available. We had to self-cook the pasta. This is also below my expectation because other hostel does provide readily-available snacks.
A deposit has to be paid for luggage storage upon discharge. This is something new to me as all other hostel stores it for free for in-house guest.
Outside foods and drinks can only be taken in communal kitchen. Does that mean we are not entitled to enjoy the bar seat view at the main entrance if we do not spend at your bar section?
This place was awesome and not just because it had a pool. The pool was nice but I would still rate my experience amazing even if there was no pool. All the staff is so helpful and friendly and the hostels activities are always fun and well organized and a great way to meet people. There’s food for pretty cheap in case you just want to stay in all day which was quite nice. The pool was so great during the heat of the summer and I spent a whole day reading and enjoying the weather. Only downside was I thought the showers were a little icky on the sides where they seal but I had shower shoes and it was only on the edges so wasn’t a problem. I booked last minute so I got a mixed dorm which I was nervous about as a solo female traveler but everyone was super nice and respectful and also had a couple girls in my room. Only slightly bad thing was on the last night some people in my room were about to hook up in the bed above me so I had to exit the room at like 4am for a little bit to save my ears from that lol.
Overall the stay was nice, people were great and good location.
Thank you so much YellowSquare you guys really are top tier for a hostel. Such a good vibe and really good for solo travellers with lots of activities to meet people. The pool is great and honestly I can’t really think of anything negative. Wifi was maybe a bit patchy in places, that’s about it. Super clean and room was spacious
This was definitely one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in!! They put on really fun events every night and had cheap drinks at the bar. They also provide free pasta dinner + they have a massive dinner menu too which was great. Amazing vibes, especially at the rooftop pool. The rooms were a decent size too however the showers don’t get very hot
Super clean rooms, nice privacy in beds, and the hostel has many amenities. The free pasta and beer was awesome!
No water or electricity on morning of check out
Rooftop bar closed
I loved the hostel: the people were friendly and the staff was helpful, the food options were good and cheap and daily you could get a free pasta dinner. I didn’t really go to the clubs or events so I cannot say anything to them. The rooms were a bit impractical because of lights going on automatically but nothing that cannot be solved with an eye mask. In my opinion, the toilets of the rooms could have been cleaner and maybe had a hand towel or so… still great experience
It takes about 15-25 minutes to walk to central florence but the path is straightforward and always felt safe
Excellent service, good personal, delicious breakfast, funny activities and very clean
Clean hostel with great equipment, I stayed in a 6 women dorm and it was convenient. The location is close to the city center by foot and close to the tram for the airport. The staff was lovely and the overall mood was cheerful with good parties and activities. Great bar !
Rooms were clean. Staff was amazing. Activities we’re fun. Would 100% stay again but for longer
I stayed at Yellowsquare for 3 nights. The rooms were a good size, staff were so so lovely and helped where needed! Everything was really clean and I would definitely recommend!!
I had a wonderful stay at this hostel. They’d put a lot of effort into making the place look and feel nice. It was very clean and there was a great atmosphere. The pool was an incredible addition and a great way to meet people.
Had a great time and met lots of new friends, hostel was clean with great facilities, rooftop pool was a great touch!
Staff are super sweet! And know all the good spots to go out to dinner! Just had the best time!
We love the place, a very clean and beautiful space. The plus is the kitchen and bar with fair prices and very simple dishes but very tasteful!
Probably the best hostel I’ve been too! A lot of people were complaining about the distance from the hostel to the centre of Florence but there is literally a tram station a 2 min walk away from the hostel that takes 5 minutes and it runs every 5-10 minutes! Incredibly easy! The pool is a great benefit, free pasta daily! Loads of events, super social! Easy to make friends. 10/10
The place is nice , its modern and confortable . Yo have a variety of drinks and food wich is great I love that .I would be great if it had been closer to the center
Everything looked good; the room, common áreas and activities. The staff was kind and prices fair!
The rooms are clean. Toilet and shower was seperate, so that was good.
YellowSquare had great social events every night, everything was very clean, the beds were pretty comfortable. I had lost my camera after leaving the hostel and they helped ship it back to my adress!
Great people! Greta stay amazing environment
YellowSquare Florence was a really great place to stay. Everything was thought through, first time I’ve had a rail on my bed to hang my towel off! The rooms were big and clean and the atmosphere around the hostel was good. Added bonus having the roof terrace with the pool, I would 10/10 recommend YellowSquare Florence.
The whole vibe of the hostel is so welcoming. Everyone is super kind and open, and as a solo traveler you’ll fit right in and make new friends. The activities organized are great. Especially the evening ones, because as a woman alone you don’t need to leave your hostel to go out at night. You just stay at YellowSquare and join whatever they got planned for the evening.
The location is not too far from the center, with the tram, it’s doable.
The beds are a little noisy, but clean and comfortable in my opinion. Despite having some loud room mates, I slept fine.
The breakfast is definitely one of the bests I had in any hostel!
had people sneaking into my locker stuff even when lock on, broken locker, requested staff to change my room and they just mentioned it was no availability
I think it needs something like a kitchen to save up some money. Otherside that it was nice. It always had activities. The pasta thing could habe been a little later (only americans and australians eat that early)
Had the greatest time ever. Staff is great, place is clean, vibe is amazing
I loved staying in Yellow Square Florence. It was by far my favorite stay of the whole trip and I would 100% visit again. I reserved staying at Yellow Square Milan hoping to have the same expectations as Florence. It didn’t turn out that way but I loved Yellow square in Florence!!
Great stay. Easy booking and check in. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good sized bathroom with towels and bedding provided (cleaned every day). Pool great with bar beside. 20% off drinks a bonus! Breakfast will set you up for a day of walking. Wide range of activities to take part in if you wish. Some noise from the disco but easily ignored.
