The staff were super helpful and made me feel right at home. I’m not sure if all hostels have an iron, but they did, and it really helped me out. It is located near Termini station so it is easy access to airport.
The room was clean, check in and check out was super efficient, and all the staff were really friendly!!
was a very lovely hostel, friendly and clean 🙂
All the staff were good and room was lovely and clean, the free pasta and free drink was a nice touch too.
Never felt more safe or at home! Incredible place to stay
My stay was really pleasant. I had the chance to meet other solo travellers in both hostel and the bar-restaurant right in front of it. What I didn’t like was the mattress, quite uncomfortable and almost without filling in the middle part. Also, there was no proper curtain to get a bit of privacy in the bunker bed. If you wanted, you had to use the sheet of the mattress.
First of all the place is situated very close to the train station with is really good makes commute easy. Alot of affordable restaurants around. They also provide free pasta every day between 6-8. The room was cleaned every day which was a good thing.
Coming to the problems. The rooms were way smaller in real life when you see it personally. Every morning when i had a shower the water was ice cold and when i informed the guy at the reception he said we cant do anything about it as its the buildings problem so please manage. Which was very rude of him. Also i saw people checking in got a toad bag which was selectively not given to me which i dont know why. There were lockers for post/pre checkout to deposit luggage and use for a euro a day. As they didnt have the locker to fit my bag they just kept it with them for free which was very confusing and nonuniform treatment.
Overall the experience did not do justice to the price i paid for a dome room. I worked suggest to travel in pairs in Rome and book a room in a hotel or a hostel.
If you just need to drink and party yes this is the place.
The accommodation was very comfortable and conveniently located. It has a kitchen which was very useful and a great bar just across the street which was very nice had a great atmosphere..
Unfortunately, our stay was really uncomfortable and not suitable for somebody with accessibility needs. I was travelling with my mother (60s), and she is quite short and suffers from movement limitations and chronic pain. On the first day she took a nap on one of the single beds, which was not anchored in anyway and slid away from the wall as she was trying to get out of bed, causing her to fall between the bed and window, leading to a giant bump on her head, dizziness and confusion for days (we were only in Dublin for 5 days). This impacted the rest of her trip entirely. She also struggled with the height of the bed to get in and out of it, there was no railing and there was not enough space between between beds to support getting in and out without difficultly. The rooms are TINY. the cupboards were too high for her to access things and nothing was labelled, making it difficult for her to remember where to look with her suffering memory.
Door way into the washroom was not wide enough, and space between front door and washroom door was dismal and made it difficult to move any support equipment into the room/bathroom.
When I asked the front desk if there was a way to secure the bed, they said it wasn’t possible and told me they could give my mom ice. It took me asking more than 5 times and offering solutions before they said they could look into options but that we would have to wait until the next day so they could call in maintenance. There was no follow up, no remediation (ie, like a complimentary meal or breakfast or even just a soda), literally didn’t even ask how things were going in any capacity. And there was also no option to be reimbursed for our remaining unused nights so that we could book a hotel that was suitable for my mothers needs.
Just really disappointing.
Great rooms, great staff, affordable breakfast and bar. Great atmosphere.
The hostel really exceeded my expectations – convenient location, great vibes, friendly staff. I especially liked the various activities and events offered by the hostel – met some amazing people there who made the trip even better.
Great hostel with an amazing atmosphere, good activities and a nice location. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and want to come back as soon as possible!
This hostel was perfect. I was looking for a place that was in a central location that was easy to navigate from, this hostel fit the bill exactly. It’s close enough to Roma Termini that I was able to travel around Rome (and elsewhere) very easily. I was a little concerned about the noise levels as the bar is across the road but honestly you can barely hear the music from the rooms.
This is the best hostel in Rome!
We enjoyed so much at this hostel. The staff here are so warm and welcoming. All the services were really nice and up to the mark.
We had a wonderful five-night stay at Yellowsquare Rome. It was easy to find, just a short walk from Roma Termini station. There were three of us in a four-person bedroom located next to the bar. The room was clean, spacious, and the beds were super comfy. The place also has laundry, a co-working space, and a bar, plus it’s near grocery stores and restaurants. The staff is friendly, helpful, and multilingual.
There was just one small downside: the noise from the bar could be heard in our room until around 1 or 2 AM, which might be a bit disruptive if you’re hoping for a quiet night’s sleep. Overall, though, our stay was fantastic.
Clean. Safe. Nice atmosphere. Staff were really lovely. Free nachos and Pasta for dinner which were pretty good. Has a lift which is nice if you’re too tired for the stairs. Only a short walk from Roma Termini which is super handy. Plenty of opportunities to meet other travelers in the chill-out room, kitchen, bar, reception area, etc. Great showers. Good restaurants only a few meters away. Probably more suited to a twenty-something traveler, but I met a lot of really nice people.
The experience, attention, and service they offer are truly excellent. I felt safe the entire time. The room and bathroom were always clean. There was access to the kitchen, refrigerator, paid laundry, discounts at the bar, free dinner, and an excellent atmosphere. Without a doubt, I’ll stay there again when I return to Rome
Everything was excellent, from the bar downstairs, to the staff, free pasta and the nice dorms. Only downsides are the small showers in the rooms. But I have really only seen the room I stayed in.
I loved this hostel, I met a lot of great people there during my stay thanks to the bar across the street. They provide free pasta and one drink for free. There were many other solo travelers. The hostel room was clean and in the bathroom they had shampoo and shower gel to use. The ladders to the upper bunks were metal which I didn’t like but you can’t have everything.
Vibes were definitely there and you could tell they have put time into thinking of the details to enhance the experience. Would def stay again if I needed to and would recommend to others.
The rooms were great, the bar and common area was always packed and the staff made sure everyone was engaged and having fun which is important when you are solo traveling and want to meet new people.
The hostel has a warm and kindly staff. They are always available for help. You can breathe a good atmosphere in here. It has a nice bar where you can have a fresh breakfast.
Room had a funky smell and was way too hot! Also, staff was bare minimum friendly. Maybe I had a hard time with such a large hostel, but I didn’t love the lack of community/social environment (outside the bar).
The hostel has a great atmosphere, and the facilities are generally clean. The staff is very kind and beloved, which makes the stay pleasant. However, the bathrooms in the rooms are in poor condition and need serious improvement. The walls have exposed bricks or signs of heavy moisture, and during the two days I stayed, I never saw the bathrooms cleaned or mopped after everyone used them. Another issue is the shower setup—it’s not enclosed, so water splashes everywhere, making the bathroom even dirtier
I loved de hostal! Definitely staying there again and recommending it!!!
Friendly environment, great staff, top notch service
There were a lot of amenities on site which made things easier upon arrival. The Yellow Bar is a great amenity. It is lively and fun. The free pasta is a nice touch and the games they organized are a fun way to get to know people. I stayed at another hostel that had a group chat that had key information and the staff hosted events every day. I think YellowSquare could adopt this as well and use the group chat as a means to keep people updated on events and items of interest.
I recently stayed at Yellowsquare Rome and had an incredible time! This was my first time staying at a hostel and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. It was easy to make friends. Being next to the train station made getting around to my other destinations a breeze. Staff was super welcoming and information. Omar in particular was great! He helped me book my train ticket for the next leg of my trip and made sure everyone was doing okay coming back in late at night. Overall a lovely experience!!
I liked it
It was my first time in an hostel and I had so many stereotypes about it.
My experience at Yellow Square hostel was absolutely perfect ! So clean, the people and the employees were so nice. The location was perfect too, close to the Roma Termini train station and the city center.
My stay at yellow was great. They offer nice rooms in a secure location. Socialization is super easy thanks to the bar area just next store that is owned by them. The price was as good as it gets, especially for what is offered.
Yellow square is a good option, if you travel to Rome and you want to stay in a place with amenities. The rooms was big and I really appreciate to have bathroom inside the room.
Is pretty close to the main attractions if you like to walk.
The staff was very kind and helpful.
You have discount at the bar, that’s a plus.
