My greetings to the staff
Simply the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! All the staff very well trained and friendly (especially Sabrina). Extremely clean and comfortable. I felt like I was in a hotel. The hostel bar is a great place to make friends, not to mention all the perks you get from staying there. I’ve never seen anything like it. Incredible!
Everton and Sabrina are the best! Good people, gentle and helpfull. See yah
Technically the place has most of what you need. But it’s very average quality in all areas.
Having booked a private twin room it would have been nice to have at least a kettle. But you see, the place is riddled with rule charts and limitations. Before even entering, under the door number it states ‘no food, no drinks, no smoking’. When you pay the price they set, it’d be nice to have the freedom to eat in your room. Being an adult this is condensending beyond belief. Following on from that, you have a “dos and don’ts” by the window reminding you not to “throw things out the window” but to instead “practise meditation”. The ‘totally like chill vibe ‘ that’s obviously held core at reception is absent in the rooms. Even the shampoo bottle tells you to turn the water off while you use it in the shower. Typical of a business that tries too hard to be something other than primarily caring for their customers.
It is obnoxious in a way that it must have taken a high level of creativity to arrive at.
Bathroom is essentially a closet with a shower. Water takes 5 minutes to get hot if you’d even call it hot. Heating wasnt a free choice. Blankets are paper thin. Mattresses slide off the frame so sitting up in bed isn’t comfortable. Noise can be an issue, walls appear paper thin.
The location is decent and hygiene was adequate. But once again, pair that with the price and it really leaves you no other choice but to consider elsewhere.
Clean hostel, very social and easy to meet people, staff is polite, room was nice and big enough.
Had a great stay at the hostel exceeded all my expectations and would happily return when in Rome again
I stayed for two nights. It was very good. No complaints. free drinks and free pasta added to the value. Staffs were also amazing. Rooms and bathrooms were both tidy and clean.
Good position, clean hostel.
It was my second time at Yellow Square. Everything was great, staff cleanness, bed, bathroom. Loved it. Would stay again for sure
There is more need for cleaning at the rooms, the staff is the best about it, but the lack of clean sheets and towels is something that should be a must.
Nice and good service
Overall, everything was good (special thanks for the co-working space!) but there is some room for improvement:
– the bathroom door in the dorm was hard to close – it’d be a good idea to change the locker type
– the bathroom itself wasn’t in the best condition with its broken hangers and quite old renovation in general
– sleeping on the bad next to the door and the bathroom is quite annoying – maybe think about moving beds?
– WIFI didn’t work properly everywhere
– No duvet cover but only a bedsheet so you can’t tuck the blanket into it which is absolutely inconvenient
I think its much better than others similar places.
I was in a spacious 4 bed female room and it was super quiet and clean. Staff were super helpful and having the restaurant over the road was really convenient. Also was able to walk comfortably from termini
The location is great and I like the big locker and safe box in the room. One thing that bothered me was the unstable wifi that kept disconnecting.
the staff was really friendly, the room was clean and tidy, and everything went well.
my only remark is that the towels should be changed more often.
It was clean and the staff were very kind
I loved it. The staff was so lovely and helpful. Rooms were clean & I met lovely people.
My experience at Yellowsquare was great. Statf was helpful, the atmosphere was engaging, and the vibe made people interact more. The only thing I would improve is making non-alcoholic options for activities.
I have chosen this hostel cause it didn’t have reviews about bedbugs, dirty shower and stealing. And it all was true. Very clean, safe and convenient.
I went to YellowSquare in Firenze in 2022, it was really great and I did not find this level in Roma unfortunately….
The staff is nice but rooms are old and especially : with no air renewal system! When you are sleeping in a dorm with 6 people and 1 bathroom, the air is unbreathable, really. And during the winter, you can let the windows open all the time to renew the air… Big negative point.
Also, the kitchen could be better equipated and cleaned, but I guess it’s difficult when guests don’t take care of things as I could saw it during my stay…
This hotel is the best of all I tried before. Excellent facilities, amazing reception, but besides that they gave free food, drink and even some special activities to meet other people. I enjoyed my time here and I am coming back one day.
I am an experienced World Traveler…
I Love to escape Las Vegas, NV. USA
to stay in one of the Private, quiet rooms at
Yellow Square, Rome! It’s Always a Great Time!
Enjoyable stay
Reasonable price
Easy to meet other travellers
Good facilities
Great time.
The location was excellent, nerar Termini station and close from downtown. The staff was kind and there’s silence even when people stay up late. The room was freezing so we asked for 2 extra blankets.
Everything was perfect, except the bathroom for my (4 person room), it’s appearance was outdated and felt old.
But do not get me wrong, practically speaking it did the work.
It’s a fantastic place to stay!
There were partying in the night at the yellow bar which is pretty loud. On the top of that I got a snoring roommate who made it even more miserable.
This was my first hotel experience, and it was really good. Staff was helpful when we had questions about nightlife, hostel is in a great location, the facilities and the rooms are clean. Great to have discounts in the hostel bar as well, definitely recommend.
Great hostel
Savage events every night doing karaoke, beer pong, salsa dancing and loads more. Free pasta every Monday to Thursday and it’s really tasty. The bedroom was very clean and the beds were comfy. Bathroom was lovely and clean too. Kitchen was stocked with pasta, cereal and loads of spices so you can cook fairly cheaply. Close to everything, not that you’re gonna wanna leave the bar or common area!!
Pretty Organized, cool people and lots of events to hang out. Everton on reception helped me a lot, so polite and attentive, with great tips.
Beds were comfortable, but those metal walls are making lots of noise. The ventilator in bathroom didn’t work, causing a lot of humidity and fog. There should be more hangers in the bathroom. There was no cleaning service. It was a bit dirty on the floor. There were stains on the bedsheets. The charging points were overheating. Toilet paper was not refilled, even though there was a person preparing bed for new person, which means that this person didn’t care to check other things in the room.
the yellow is a really fun place for a first time in Rome! the biggest thing that made a difference for me was their lovely staff, in particular Serhat was extremely helpful and Rany was a super kind and fun to be around
