YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
It was a great place to stay. Clean and fun. Not to far from city and airport.
Fun vibe, good location. It gets pretty loud at night, so I’d definitely suggest earplugs! Also the shower is a bit small, but manageable.
Very well organized.
There’s nothing not to love about this hostel! It’s got the vibes, the awesome staff, the fun events, the organized check-in/check-out, the clean rooms and ALSO A POOL! Would definitely book again.
The location was so close to the centre and so easy to get to! The room was so so clean and very comfortable considering your sharing! The roof top pool is ab added bonus. And the staff were incredible so kind the service was great!
I stayed in a private room, which felt almost like a hotel. It had all the facilities we could ask for(except curtain in bathroom window). It was cleaned every day, allthough the cleankng wasn’t very thorough (we found chips on the floor when we checked in, and the mud from our shoes on the bathroom floor wasn’t cleaned for 3 days). The bars were very nice and welcoming and the drinks strong and cheap. The staff and hostel were amazing at encouraging social activities. There were at least 2 events at the hostel every day, many of which were free (I had to pay for icecream at the gelatotour, but painted a totebag for free). All in all an amazing stay!! Would 100% come back or visit in the other cities (I heard that the bar on the one in Rome is used by locals as well)
Good beds, everything new, not enough water pressure in the third floor for stable water temperature and to wash long hair easily. Nice breakfast, but unfortunately no continental breakfast option.
overall my stay was pleasant. I just wished I was told in the email that I could take the tram from the train station to the hostel instead of 15mins walk with the luggage
One if my favourite hostels I’ve stayed in! The people I met were amazing as well as the staff, it was in a great location and so much fun things to do and the rooftop pool was perfect and everything is super clean! Can’t wait to come back!
One of the best hostel I stayed at.
The team was very welcoming and helpful. Cosy beds, generous breakfasts, well located (5-10 minutes from the city center). I will recommend this place and I think I will come back.
it was nice, clean and secure. has lots of fun events get to people to mix. however the cleaning ladies were very rude and inconsiderate and there is no place to wash your clothes
Everything was great. So far it’s my favorite hostel I’ve ever stayed in! The bunk beds were super comfortable, had a lot of space, a bar if we wanted to put up a curtain or something for some more privacy, the bathrooms were also really nice, and had two sinks which was really helpful. The linen was super smooth and the duvet was super fluffy so I just had to mention it!! The location wasn’t great, but I didn’t mind it because I could walk and explore the area, and everything else compensated for it. I have only two things I think they should improve – the lights at the entry of the dorm were awful. There was a sensor and it was motion that activated the light, which made it really difficult to access the lockers because we wanted to go there and everything would just go completely dark really quickly and it was hard turning it back on, specially if your locker is on the bottom (like mine), so definitely please improve that. And one last thing, the bathrooms lacked bins. People with periods who need to dispose of whatever products they’re using can’t because the bathrooms don’t have trash cans near the toilet. They need to be disposed of outside the bathroom and we shouldn’t have to have that worry. Other than this, everything was impeccable. The pool was just perfect and the bar too! Everyone that worked there was really accessible and friendly. I definitely want to come back and stay in this hostel!
The quality for the price is outstanding. The staff is super sweet and friendly. I plan on using yellow square in Rome and Milan now.
So, I planned a weekend trip to Florence and selected “Yellowsquare” for my stay. As it was quite last minute, my travel was a bit rough and reached the place with a very exhausted mind. and due to some miscommunication, I missed that check-in is only possible at 3 pm. I was a bit worried and frustrated and told them also that I booked for this day and all. but, the staff was very calm with me, understood my situation and checked whether they can give me a room a bit earlier. as it seems impossible, they managed to give me a proper washroom and shower facility so that I can freshen up and be comfortable again. I must say, I was impressed later on that they hosted their tired, frustrated guest very nicely. There was 24*7 service so I never had any issues regarding contacting the staff. All staff members were SUPER FRIENDLY and very nice to every guest. There were lots of activities also going on. The ambience was awesome. In short, it’s a very good place for your budget trip.
The place was nice and clean… some of the rooms can be exposed to too much outside noise, but it didn’t bother me since I’m a heavy sleeper.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating and they made the experience much better.
We really like the place. It was located 20 min from the city center, so it was easy to walk almost everywhere. And it’s also very close to the train station, about 10 min by walk. We were surprised by many activities organized by the staff. As the place is quite new, the room was in a very good condition. It was also very clean. Towels and soaps were provided.
Great hostel. Not as social as I thought. People tend to come in groups. Far from the centre
Staff were very polite and helpful. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Wasn’t very many places to sit and relax besides in rooms. Would been nice if there was a quiet lounge area to sit. Food and drinks were good, fairly good prices. Wifi was really bad in rooms. Metal beds were loud and noisy.
I found not juat hostel, i found Friends and i felt comfortable for all the vacation.
The team is super helpful and friendly. Cool environment, a nice short walk to tourist attractions. Train is also accessible. They actually made a map legend to guide us which I think is a brilliant idea.
The staff is super nice. They have every night an event which really helps to connect. The rooms were clean. You only couldn’t lock the bathroom door and the washing machine wasn’t installed yet. On the othe side they also have a community kitchen and cheap coffee.
I stayed 2 weeks at the hostel because I was doing a course and everything was great! The hostel is exactly like the pictures, the pool is great, the staff very friendly. Before arriving I had seen some comments about the issues with the showers drains but I confirmed before getting there and all of them have been renovated. I had no issues with that. Also, I loved how organized the hostel is with the allocation of bed per person… that way there is no “fighting” over a lower bunk bed when someone leaves! Had such a good experience I stayed on the same in Milan… would definitely recommend it to anyone and come back!
I am an Erasmus student and when I arrived to Florence I didn’t had a permanent place yet, so I booked two weeks with YellowSquare Florence in order to have some time. Usually people don’t stay for that long in these kind of hostels so I was a little worried that it wouldn’t have the conditions for such a long stay. I don’t think I could’ve had a better experience. As a student who came alone to a new citiy, I felt so welcomed by everyone in the staff, they were ready to help me with anything, always with the nicest attitude. My dorm and bathroom were cleaned, the kitchen was big enough to cook and the overall conditions of the hostel are very good. The fact that they had events and activities everyday really helped me not to feel so alone, I met so many people in them! To end this long review, I’m very thankfull for the way I was treated in Yellowsquare and I would 100% recommend it to someone who’s planning on visiting the beautifull city of Florence. 🙂
This is one of the hostels I have stayed at and I have travelled ALOT!
Great hostel in general, especially if you prefer more of a bigger hostel with a bar and party vibes
Staying at the YellowSquare Firenze was one of the best choices I have ever made. It was near to all the spots I wanted to go to, including coming and going to and fro Firenze SMN train station.
Epi was the one who helped me check in and he was the absolute sweetest! I brought with me a power adaptor so that I could use my charger (I’m from Singapore and the plugs are different there) but the power adaptor didnt work, so Epi gave me the hostel’s charger to use and to keep, even after I insisted that I buy it from the hostel!
Amenities are great, food is wonderful and the events they held there were fun! A great way to meet new people! If you’re ever coming down to Florence, YellowSquare is where you need to be!
I thought the hostel was a nice, good address to have a good time in Florence but it was horrible! I couldn’t sleep more than 2 hours because the bar was so loud and people were partying everywhere until 5 am. The bad room was gross and there were no possibilities to change in private so I needed to lay my clothes on the toilette.
The entire building was clean and well maintained.
I felt like my belongings were safe the entire time. I wish they had curtains for the beds as there’s a rode there. Also the beds are made out of aluminum or something so they make a lot of noise.
I stayed for 4 Nights at Yellow Square in Florence.
I thought the price per night was very high beforehand but I realized during my stay that it was worth every penny. staff was always there and always super friendly. The bar right in the entrance was fantastic, people (travellers and staff) were there at all times. everything was great, super clean! The pool was beautiful, the kitchen for cooking yourself was also totally well equipped and clean. there was a great range of programs every day. The atmosphere was fantastic!
Super nice hostel, everything is nice and luxury here! Seems the hostel just opened. Staff is very helpful and smiling people. Good job!
A brand new hostel, with many activities offered every day. It has different rooms, each of them with a specific purpose. I got to work in the meeting room, without being disturbed. The cuisine is excellent and the staff is always ready to help you.
Everybody was kind and everything was very clean
I truly appreciate that there was an event happening at the hostel every night. The location of the hostel seemed quite bad on first impression as the way to the city center involves quite a lot of traffic but in the end the location was actually quite alright as there was good access to the tram. The staff was decently friendly and everything was clean. Overall a good experience, but the missing washing machines where disappointing.
Really nice hostel.
Very friendly staff.
Rooms and facilities new.
Nice rooftop + pool, great vibe
Convenient location
I really liked the place and the facilities were good (breakfast was great). Although I didn’t attend any of the extra activities, I thought it was really fun that they were organised. On the downside though, we had to share one shower with eight people. Maybe there were other (communal) showers, but then I’d suggest putting up a sign on the bathroom door, telling you where to go for extra showers. Another thing was that I couldn’t really find a good place to have a phone call without disturbing anyone of being disturbed. The communal area was really loud, and in the meeting rooms people tried to work. Eventually I settled for outside, but that wasn’t great either. So maybe you can create a space where people can talk/have phone calls in peace, without having to disturb others or being disturbed (by e.g. loud music or one of those activities). That would be great.
So overall I really liked this hostel and it has definitely been my favourite of all the hostels I have attended lately (I’m travelling Europe for a month, so I’ve experienced quite some hostels by now). It has a few minor improvement points, but a hostel doesn’t have to be perfect 🙂
Was really great. I love the beds.
I came to stay here for a conference that I had to be in Fiesole for every morning at 9 am. This was not the ideal place to stay, I would have loved this environment had I been just on a holiday but that was my fault rather than the hostel! The staff was super lovely and the place brand new, just chose wrong for purpose of trip.
Lovely facilities, freidbly staff, cute vibes. Nice food from the kitchen with affordable prices. Cute rooftop bar and never went in the club, but had lots of activities all week
