YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
Clean and nice, loved it.
The environment of the hostel was fun, energetic and clean. However, the room was spacious, peaceful and comfortable. Overall everything was great. I had an amazing time socializing and meeting new people at the bar.
I had low standards for my experience considering the context of my trip/backpacking. The price of 36 euros to share a small room with 5 people seems a little dystopic and the hostel discount for the bar wasn’t so generous. But after grieving the money I already knew I would give, everything went smoothly and I got out of the hostel exactly what I wanted. Some safety (lockers), good roommates and a place to rest my head for 6 hours. I’m not interested to visit milano anytime soon but for the future, try to consider leaving at least one table/chair outside at the hallway of exit. Chain them to something to prevent theft. Being from a city that has a strong nightlife I could use a place to sit down and have a smoke while it rained at 2AM.
I had a very good experience overall, although I didn´t spend a lot of time at the hostal because I only had one day to enjoy Florence.
For a first timer in a hostel, I did feel comfortable and enjoy my time.
First time staying on a hostel and my experience couldn’t be more pleasent. Rooms cleaned daily, everything organized, the location was great as it was near a metro station. Staff was amazing as well. This was a great experience for a first time staying in a hostel.
Ciao a tutti e grazie mille !!

I really had a wonderful experience with u the staff the bar everything was nice but i think you missed something about the tours for tourists or some advice for us to help us discover the city .
It was the first time in a hostel and it was great! Thank you for the hospitality we had fun! It was a nice experience
This was my first time solo travelling and staying in a hostel and can’t recommend YellowSquare enough! The rooms were good and the bar was amazing, met some great people along the way, will definitely be returning.
Highly highly recommend this place. Great staff and ambiance, excellent location, room was nice (bathroom and floor could use a renovation), assistance was easy to receive and I felt very well taken care of.
Hello,
I booked the spot in a four bed room, i knew it wasn’t going to be quiet but it was litteraly in the bar, we can hear all the party. I realised i made a mistake, and asked for a refund of at least one of the three nights i payed. (i slept one night, understood it was too short to cancel the second one, but was hoping for the third). I ve been told no. The food was really bad and not cheap, no towels, only one really thin duvet in winter, and the spot is pretty far from the center. Youth hostel is not necessary a club med experience for students, felt like spring break in florence…. The only good thing were the really friendly, nice employees, good luck to them.
Rooms are super clean and the building is amazing (very practical and full of beautiful amazing places). The luggage room and the communal kitchen literally saved our lives. The staff is very nice and helpful (great restaurants recommendations). Food is very yummy.
This was my first time at a hostel so I was a little nervous, but this place was fantastic!! The common areas were homey and a great place to meet people, even if you’re shy like me. The food and drink options were plentiful and well priced. The only negative thing I have to say is that my room smelled a little funky, but other than that I had an incredibly positive experience! Would definitely come back here if I’m ever back in Milan and would recommend it to anyone.
Great experience, I stayed 4 nights in the hostel, th staff was very helpful, there is a kitchen available and a cafe, a lot of different events are organised. I did the Milano Tour and it was a great way to discover some places and get to know some people.
The hostel is not as good as it seems online. The people is great!! The staff is the besr of the hostel. But i couldnt sleep st night with all the noice
the staff was really friendly. the activities at night are so important for those who travel by themselves, i had a really good experience
Everything was great, we arrived at night and check-in was very easy, we had no problems. Very good atmosphere and it’s great that there are activities every night.
It was my first time in a hostel and It was the best environment I could find!
The hostel, the rooms, the staff, the bar, the neighborhood, the tips, the maps, the coworking, the parties these guys have everything!
I really enjoyed my stay there! Everyone was really nice, great environment…simply excellent 🙂
We couldn’t have expected better! we loved the activities schedule, the room was very clean and well organized. Overall, it’s the perfect hostel to meet people and have a great milano experience 🙂
Everything was very smooth working, helpful staff and fresh.
Easy to find other travelers to hang out with and the bar with different activities were perfect to spend an evening at!
Perfect is the word – for everything that we experienced. The atmosphere is so lively and super friendly. You always have options for one or the other activity if one is interested.
Very friendly staff and atmosphere.
Rooms were clean and tidy
Great place
I felt like the biggest (and only) let down was the beds we had. We had a bunk bed that squeaked like crazy and just made it really hard to sleep. Unlike beds at other hostels we stayed at throughout out trip, the beds here didn’t give a lot of privacy, adding some curtains would be a nice little luxury.
Outside of that, the facilities were nice enough – good water pressure, everything was clean, staff were friendly
As first impression the dorm was good and looked like the pictures!
I was a bit disappointed because I had to buy my own lock for my locker, and most importantly there was no curtain to my bed. Of course it is a dorm but the minimum privacy is required and seeing strangers sleep and them look at you is quite unpleasant. I was surprised because all other hostels i’ve been to provided these. Gladly, a staff lady offered me another bed sheet to use it as a curtain.
The biggest downside is the bathroom. While it is very nice to have it for each bedroom, they were very poir and STINKED. Everyday even though the cleaning lady came, there was a super strong smell of piss. Really disguating.
The good, the bad, and the ugly.
The Yellowsquare 🟨 was clean and convenient.
Very warm and kind staff.
Wifi is good.
Bathrooms are very very small but clean.
Beds are sturdy, clean, and comfortable.
The bar might be a little too loud for those of you who just want to sleep but it’s not terrible.
The safe might maybe too safe. When I was leaving it stopped working and I couldn’t get my stuff out but thankfully Paul from the front desk was there to help.
The Yellowsquare is good but the neighborhood is dirty and dangerous.
I have been to 29 countries and know how to stay out of trouble.
On my last night, four Africans attacked me outside the hostel and stole my phone with sentimental travle photos on my memory card that I will never see again. I tried to get it back but four against one does not work too well especially with the fact that I was already limping from a recent injury. These four fiends were bold. Unashamed and accustomed a life of crime. I was able to get some guys from inside the bar and we ran after them for two and a half blacks before they got away in a car. I am a strong athletically built man in my 20s and I was still attacked. This is NOT A SAFE neighborhood. This is dangerous for ladies and solo travelers. I cannot recommend this location.
My experience there was great! I’m looking forward to coming back in the summer to enjoy the rooftop.
The building is gorgeous and the rooftop is sweet! I had a great time and met great people at the handful of activities they plan. It was a fun social environment and breakfast was also great. The appetizers were cheap and I really enjoyed my entire stay.
I highly recommend staying at YellowSquare if you are staying in Florence! One of the nicest, and cleanest hostels I’ve stayed at. I love how the hostel offers activities to do everyday at hostel. It’s also not too far of a walk from City Centre, or you can take the tram that is right down the street that will get you to the City Centre as well. The train station is also only a 10 minute walk away.
very nice!!
I enjoyed my stay very much. It was a very clean.
I loved the restaurant on the other side of the street and was there daily.
What can I day about this hostel! Such a fun, organized, well put together hostel. It’s also in a great location. Right across from the tram, so it’s so easy to get around. The staff were phenomenal. They were so helpful whenever I needed it. The vibe of the hostel is warm and inviting and I would 100% recommend it for anyone looking to stay in Florence.
had a great experience at yellow square rome, was travelling with a friend one night and alone the other. the amenities provided were perfect for this — i wanted to go out but feared going out alone in a new city, and the yellow bar worked perfect for this! the breakfast in the morning got me going, and the beds were comfortable and clean. everyone was very kind and helpful.
I had a truly wonderful experience during my stay at Yellowsquare Rome. Its central location, excellent amenities, and cleanliness made my stay truly memorable.
Great place for a great price! The rooms and bathrooms were all really clean and super cute as well. All of the staff was lovely. The free dinner was yummy and there were good food options for purchasing too. Would def recommend!
