YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
We really liked staying in this hostel, it is the first one that we really felt it was worth staying. The location is perfect because you are away from the hustle and bustle and you can walk to the center without any problems, although the subway station is also very close. It is super clean, the food itself (breakfast, lunch, etc.) is delicious, and the atmosphere is super friendly and comfy. I would stay at any YellowSqaure Hostel again.
Had a fantastic stay here. It was my first time staying at a hostel, but from what I understand from my fellow guests the bar is set very high now. There is literally not one thing I can name wrong with the hostel or my stay there. Everything was very clean and tidy, staff was friendly, and every night there was a different fun activity. Ranging from karaoke night and game night to a drag queen show. But at any moment one could just take a seat with anyone or any group and instantly make new friends.
Although it was just one night that stayed, I wish it was more.. the place is so clean, organized, fun and the vibes are very nice.
The staff is fantastic and available all the time.
My only concern is that it felt cold at night in the room. Everything else in the room (bed, clean bathroom.. etc) is more than good!
I would love to come back for sure.
My experience at Yellowsquare was great. Statf was helpful, the atmosphere was engaging, and the vibe made people interact more. The only thing I would improve is making non-alcoholic options for activities.
Very good bed.quiet and convenient.
Really fun hostel that knows how to play host! Free pasta from 6:30-7:30 is an amazing idea along with having at least 2 social events a days. Staff was amazing and they had enough working so that nobody ever had to wait for reception or drinks, top notch!
I am happy I chose to stay at Yellow Square during my one-day visit to Milan. The hostel and facilities were excellent. I did not stay in the room much as I was mainly doing some sightseeing, however, I appreciate having the ensuite bathroom and the overall cleanliness. The staff was very friendly and helpful, too. Excellent experience, thank you!
I have chosen this hostel cause it didn’t have reviews about bedbugs, dirty shower and stealing. And it all was true. Very clean, safe and convenient.
I had a good stay at the hostel. The rooms are nice. Fortunately, my roommates were quiet and respectful. The bathroom could have been more cleaned and I’d have appreciated some curtains at the bed
I went to YellowSquare in Firenze in 2022, it was really great and I did not find this level in Roma unfortunately….
The staff is nice but rooms are old and especially : with no air renewal system! When you are sleeping in a dorm with 6 people and 1 bathroom, the air is unbreathable, really. And during the winter, you can let the windows open all the time to renew the air… Big negative point.
Also, the kitchen could be better equipated and cleaned, but I guess it’s difficult when guests don’t take care of things as I could saw it during my stay…
Everything was just amazing!
This hotel is the best of all I tried before. Excellent facilities, amazing reception, but besides that they gave free food, drink and even some special activities to meet other people. I enjoyed my time here and I am coming back one day.
I am an experienced World Traveler…
I Love to escape Las Vegas, NV. USA
to stay in one of the Private, quiet rooms at
Yellow Square, Rome! It’s Always a Great Time!
I love it!
Enjoyable stay
Reasonable price
Easy to meet other travellers
Good facilities
The location was excellent, nerar Termini station and close from downtown. The staff was kind and there’s silence even when people stay up late. The room was freezing so we asked for 2 extra blankets.
Private room was really small, but to be expected. Bed was pretty clean, except throw pillows had stains. Bathroom had a mildewy smell and shower had stronger smell with hard water stains on floor that were brown. Towel rack heater didn’t work. Heat generally wouldn’t go above a certain temperature (19 degrees) in my room which caused me to get really sick. No late checkout options, even if desire to pay for a later checkout, so had to be out by 10. Staff came and knocked on door at 9:35 as if to ensure guests would be out by 10, which I thought was annoying. People at the bar and reception were nice, but overall, I didn’t really enjoy my stay this time. So many guests co-working in the main areas coughing without masks or anything so that also contributes to spread of germs. Would not stay again this time of year.
Great time.
Everything was perfect, except the bathroom for my (4 person room), it’s appearance was outdated and felt old.
But do not get me wrong, practically speaking it did the work.
Thank you for the amazing stay I had at Yellowsquare! The place is really close to the metro station and its atmosphere is beautiful! I was able to made some friends there that were really kind and funny. I’ll be back for sure 🙂
It’s a fantastic place to stay!
There were partying in the night at the yellow bar which is pretty loud. On the top of that I got a snoring roommate who made it even more miserable.
Good!!
Absolutely brilliant, clean, friendly, fun, good value.
This was my first hotel experience, and it was really good. Staff was helpful when we had questions about nightlife, hostel is in a great location, the facilities and the rooms are clean. Great to have discounts in the hostel bar as well, definitely recommend.
Ask people for their intentions (party, culture etc) and then match dorms according to the intentions
My stay was very good with plenty of activities and social opportunities. The hostel dorms were great but it’d be cool if there were curtains or dividers for the beds. It was disappointing that there were no facilities to wash clothes like it said on Hostelworld. They instead gave an address for a cash only place 10 minutes away. Everything else about the hostel was amazing.
Great hostel
I had a layover in Milan and returned to this hostel for a second time (I previously stayed here last year for a few days) and am glad I chose to stay here again even though it was far from the airport. The room was very clean and comfy, the food in the restaurant was great, the art night was enjoyable and the atmosphere was nice!
Savage events every night doing karaoke, beer pong, salsa dancing and loads more. Free pasta every Monday to Thursday and it’s really tasty. The bedroom was very clean and the beds were comfy. Bathroom was lovely and clean too. Kitchen was stocked with pasta, cereal and loads of spices so you can cook fairly cheaply. Close to everything, not that you’re gonna wanna leave the bar or common area!!
Pretty Organized, cool people and lots of events to hang out. Everton on reception helped me a lot, so polite and attentive, with great tips.
I basically chose this hostel for the price, but realized I got an awesome deal! There were free pastas given at every evening, and events were being held as well. The lobby was designed as a bar, and you could meet lots of people there. The 4-bed rooms were decent enough, and I cannot say that I was let down.
Beds were comfortable, but those metal walls are making lots of noise. The ventilator in bathroom didn’t work, causing a lot of humidity and fog. There should be more hangers in the bathroom. There was no cleaning service. It was a bit dirty on the floor. There were stains on the bedsheets. The charging points were overheating. Toilet paper was not refilled, even though there was a person preparing bed for new person, which means that this person didn’t care to check other things in the room.
the yellow is a really fun place for a first time in Rome! the biggest thing that made a difference for me was their lovely staff, in particular Serhat was extremely helpful and Rany was a super kind and fun to be around
Wonderful place with friendly staff. I loved the idea of voting for a movie. I was exhausted from my previous travels but would have been so happy to join. Everything about the Yellow Door was welcoming and charming.
