YellowSquare Reviews: Milan
Located in the heart of the Porta Romana district, YellowSquare Milan offers female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms. Instead of a formal office, we have The Baretto, a laptop-friendly space where you can work, study, and eat during the day before it turns into an aperitivo and social meeting spot. Salone14 is our events hub in Milan, it's a local 'it-spot' where travelers and locals meet for live music, DJ sets, stand-up comedy, karaoke, and creative projects, it's more like a nightlife without leaving the hostel.
I had an incredible experience. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. They really go above and beyond to interact with the customers and made me feel very welcome. The rooms were very comfortable and loved that we had a bathroom in the room. Loved the location and the activities organized by the staff.
The staff were friendly and check in and check out was very easy. My room was clean and the location was perfect. However, I do believe my bed may have had bed bugs as several bites have appeared on my arm during the stay.
I really enjoyed staying at this hostel. The staff was super nice, friendly and also helpful. The rooms where clean and modern. The activities were super fun and well organized. You have a little locker at the end of your bed and also big lockers for your backpack and suitcase. I felt safe staying in the hostel. Overall I really enjoyed staying here and I definitely recommend this hostel!
Really cool hostel, clean and seems new, I didn’t go to any activities but they had lots on, so would be easy to meet people. 10/10
Yellowsquare is great! I’ve stayed at all 3 locations now! Yellowsquare does a great job both in offering a place to stay, but also a community space for travelers and tourists alike.
Clean and cozy hostel!
hostel is around 3–4min walk from M3 porta romana and only a few stops away from the milano dome. rooms were very clean, each bed had a personal safe (additional to the locker) right there and also a bed light and night stand. you can “close the courtains” for privacy with another bedsheet which is already provided. there’s a lot of events organized by yellowsquare, e.g. concerts, pub quizzes, yoga lessons, karaoke nights etc. the community kitchen was very clean, w/ free pasta and cereal provided by the hostel. staff was very friendly and helpful. would stay here again
The staff are friendly, the breakfast is a good size and is tasty! The place is trendy with comedy nights and a quiz night held, an all-round sociable atmosphere.
The experience was very good. I really liked the service of the stuff, all of them very nice. I also liked the breakfast options and the design of the space, where you can work if you need during the day and have fun in the evenings at the bar and with the varied activities they organize. The room was clean, save and comfortable.
I liked how helpful and considerate were the staff and the rooms were pretty clean and new.
Hostel was clean and I liked the communal kitchen. Most of the people were around 25-30 years old, so not the best community for younger travellers. But overall everything was great!
Very contemporary hostel, they had everything thought of.. even a hair salon. Events ran each night which was great for solo travellers as I met people easily. The place was clean & the area felt safe. I’d definitely stay again.
Had a great time while staying in YellowSquare Milan. The hostel is in a great location close to the Porta Romana subway station. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean and I made some friends while staying in there. Would highly recommend.
Lovely hostel and great location, however has bed bugs.
Many interesting programs, nice facilities, kind staffs.
화장실 세면대 물은 잘 안 내려가요
All of the people working there were very friendly. Guided me properly. Rooms were cleaned every day. Good food as well.
So clean an comfy and the people were very nice!
Great staff and facilities. Although price was a little high, room was cleaned and I have no complaint about it.
I recently stayed at YellowSquare and had a fantastic experience overall. The hostel is not situated at the city center but it was close to a metro stop that takes directly to city center which makes it easier to explore the city. The facilities were well-maintained, with a kitchen and cozy lounge area. Cleanliness was good throughout the dormitories, bathrooms, and common spaces, but for some reasons my blanket smelled really bad. The staff were really nice and helpful. I highly recommend it.
I really like this hostel, good and friendly environment, the staff are 5*.
Very good service, nice food, polite and helpful staff, perfekt bed, pleasant atmosphere. I am admired with organisation, that it is possible to do many things in the hostel, not just to sleep and eat.
I wish there were curtains for the beds to give more privacy. I also found the blanket dirty, filled with spots. There should be a duvet cover provided. I did not want to sleep with the blanket and instead I used a jacket to keep me warm. Of course that was insufficient because I was still cold.
Good location, close to the metro, nice cafés/bakerys around. 30 minutes walk to the city center (Dome square) which I recommend for nice weather.
Check In/Out very uncomplicated, nice staff. Overall everything was clean and the bathroom was cleaned daily.
However, the room I stayed in was tiny and overheated. The beds are very squeaky and the metal wall on the back is problematic as you have to be careful at any turn not to touch it or to lean against it (otherwise you wake up the whole room).
Somebody brought someone into the room for the night which I only noticed the morning I left. So it was no problem for me for the moment, but leads to questions regarding security.
The co-working space is also used as office for the hostel staff who have their meetings and (long) calls and there is nothing for noise control. This makes it difficult for concentrated working or own calls.
Besides that I appreciated the free water at the reception and the kitchen for own cooking.
Super clean, super friendly, very organized. Stayed in a 4 bed female dorm and really appreciated the cleanliness and our ensuite bathroom. The price you pay and what you get are in good relation.
I stayed for 3 nights and it was a very beautiful experience! For starters the staff was really helpful. The room was a bit hard to find in building B but the place was super pretty and cozy and the environment was really friendly.
The room itself was fine, only the bedsheets smelled a bit off for some reason. Maybe they weren’t washed properly. Even the roommates were really kind and cheerful!
Amazing, fresh, lots of things to do
I had a really positive experience at Yellow Square Milan. The place was clean, and the service was just fantastic – they truly made me feel welcome. The bed was super comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. One suggestion I have is to consider adding a cozy sofa area for guests to relax in, and maybe curtains by the beds for extra privacy, especially in shared rooms. I think these touches would make the stay even more enjoyable for many. Grazie, siete degni di raccomandazione! 👌
I stay there fore nights they was amazing i felt like my home ,and all of staff was friendly and good behaviour thank you😊
Very good place to stay, staff friendly and helpful. Private room comfortable and clean. Metro station near by and restaurants, everything that you need.
The rooms were clean and provided all I needed. Staff was amazing.
Enjoyed my fast one-night stay at yellowsquare, positioned bit outside of main area, which is more of a plus than a minus – cheaper eats, stores, and a very nice walk to the main attractions that gives a chance to see more of milano
As always, everything was amazing. The staff is super nice (shoutout to Amy and Luca 😍)
Little tiny thing about the transport but it’s more by night so not YS fault.
YellowSquare is a great place to stay with friends or by yourself! They offer great activities and events, making it easier to make friends and get to know people! The location is perfect, the staff is kind and the hostel structure is awesome! The only tiny little thing I would recommend would be a body mirror in the 4 people bedroom (I really missed this one). But I couldnt say my experience was less than perfect! <3
We loved our stay, the atmosphere was amazing, it is a very good place to stay if you like a vivid and playful place to stay. There was a lof of locals haging in the hostel bar, which was a lovely surprise for us that really enjoyed spending some time with some italians in Milan. Also a very nice and full of simpathy staff. The location was very close to the Metro which gives you a very way to move around Milan. Even with the parties or busy bar there was no sound coming on to our room! Great time and for sure will recommend to more people.
The staff are nice, the decoration is amazing, and I like that you can join the activities they offer, also I saw people cleaning every day.
The kitchen or the menu of the coffee/restaurant does not so much variety.
Clean and nice, loved it.
I had low standards for my experience considering the context of my trip/backpacking. The price of 36 euros to share a small room with 5 people seems a little dystopic and the hostel discount for the bar wasn’t so generous. But after grieving the money I already knew I would give, everything went smoothly and I got out of the hostel exactly what I wanted. Some safety (lockers), good roommates and a place to rest my head for 6 hours. I’m not interested to visit milano anytime soon but for the future, try to consider leaving at least one table/chair outside at the hallway of exit. Chain them to something to prevent theft. Being from a city that has a strong nightlife I could use a place to sit down and have a smoke while it rained at 2AM.
For a first timer in a hostel, I did feel comfortable and enjoy my time.
