YellowSquare Reviews: Milan
Located in the heart of the Porta Romana district, YellowSquare Milan offers female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms. Instead of a formal office, we have The Baretto, a laptop-friendly space where you can work, study, and eat during the day before it turns into an aperitivo and social meeting spot. Salone14 is our events hub in Milan, it's a local 'it-spot' where travelers and locals meet for live music, DJ sets, stand-up comedy, karaoke, and creative projects, it's more like a nightlife without leaving the hostel.
Great location, clean room and bathroom. Nice breakfast and garden. Free use of co-working space is a great thing. Locker availability too. Friendly staff with a willingness to help.
All the staff were welcoming and friendly, great facilities and really clean. Convenient for food and drink too. Would stay again and recommend to others – our favourite hostel so far!
I am a solo female traveller and i stayed here for 2 nights, i felt safe walking around the area and only 30 min walk to attractions but faster if you get the regular metros. The hostel gave us a free drink after checking in, always nice and the room was nice size and clean. Locker and safe for belongings, only negative was the en-suite was one room so if someone was in shower couldn’t use the bathroom, there was a sink outside which did help. The hostel holds events every day which made it easy to socialise and the bar is reasonably priced with a discount for staying there. There is a club underneath but no events were on when i stayed so can’t comment on that, overall a pleasant stay.
The room was clean and the places is also. Food vas really good but the last day there was no kitchen witch was unexpected and bad.
I will definitely choose your hostel again and again if I will be here in Milan.Amazing facilities and clean rooms and comfortable bed.
stayed overnight with my friend in the all-female room of 4. room was exceptionally clean as well as the en suite bathroom. hand soap, shower gel and shampoo was provided which was a nice surprise. air conditioning was working well. safes are provided with each bunk bed as well as larger lockers. perfect location next to porta do romano metro stop. as two young, student, female travellers this was probably the best hostel we could have stayed in – cheap and safe.
The room is good but the drawers are super noisy and the shower wasn’t so clean. But I really enjoyed the experience. Thank you.
1. Sockets were too small for medium size chargers.
2. Too expensive hostel for only one bathroom on an 8 bed room.
Great friendly staff, loved the whole experience.
I highly recommend it
Great staff, good location super nice facilities!!! Over all great experience!
Nice clean, modern rooms with great amenities however the whole social aspect of the hostel was very woke and not really my vibe, the other people I shared the room with agreed.
This hostel was amazing for younger people, as it is for them (:D). Everyday the hostel had different “activities” and we found them very fun and a really good way to get to know other hostel guests. Affordable drinks that were rather good and very very very friendly staff. Rooms were really clean and our crew enjoyd the bunkbeds with safetyboxes, lamps and power outlets!
Uau! The badroom was very clean and the hostel is very close to metro station and many restaurants
Super hostel with everything you need, friendly staff and you feel very comfortable. There are lots of activities organised by the hostel that you can take part in for free. Good location with lots of cafés, bars and restaurants nearby. The city centre is a good half hour walk or you can take public transport.
Great location, the rooms are very good and clean. The airconditioning works perfectly. The staff is super nice and helpful!
Nice room
staff was helpfull en friendly
It was nice to stay there
Polite staff 24h lobby and easily accessible with public transportation. Price could be lower for a shared dorm, but overall alright facilities.
Our stay was great! We had a lot of fun and especially Walter added a feeling of good company. Breakfast is a little expensive but the amazing and affordable drinks make up for it. The beds are exquisitely comfortable. I just wish the bar was open longer.
Excellent experience, would say it was the best hostel I’ve stayed at
I appreciate the overall cleanliness and orderliness, as well as signage and instructions everywhere. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant.
I was scared to death when i found out that the blanked dont get washed when someone leaves one of the ladies cleaned the bed of a formal girl who stayed there. I told her she slept naked and that those blanked really need to get changed cuz thats really unhygienic she cleaned tho after i told her so it was good but i was really really shocked that i slept with a blanked that 10000+ had been used before.
The hostel was clean and the atmosphere was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Different activities were planned. I loved the painting on cotton bags activity. At the end we had the bags for us. The location was good. The only problem was less facilities in kitchen, as there was a few old pans, no vinegar or lemon. At all the only thing I didn’t like was the kitchen.
I was only there for 1 night so I didn’t get to take advantage of all the activities but the overall experience was very nice, from the people and staff to the room that was impeccable and very clean. Also couldn’t hear anything going on downstairs or outside from the room l.
.
Nice experience, well locate, good service.
lovely staff! Nice scedule on the evenings. Good drinks. nice room!
Helpful staff, great atmosphere, clean bathrooms, would recommend to anyone
Overall my stay was great, great reception and staff, the room and toilet with a decent size and cleanliness. The only problem was on the karaoke night that I could hear the music from my room on the secod floor, which was a bit annoing since I had to wake up early on the next day.
Staff super kind. Common areas are very nice. Good environment. Wifi works well all the time. The place is clean.
I would say I was overall satisfied with the hostel, it was clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful, and it was in a pretty good location. My roommates drove me crazy, lacking the basics of respect when sharing a space with someone. They had conversations at 3am, turned the lights on at obscene hours, and were very unwelcoming. I didn’t appreciate not having any privacy curtain on my bed, everyone had to sacrifice sheets or a towel to make one. I can’t blame the hostel for its guests, because the staff was amazing and it was generally a very nice place. Due to the nature of it being a party hostel, however, it is important to note that it would probably attract that type of person. I love to party as well, but when I’m in my room I like to sleep. Also, the drying machine in the laundry room was out of service which was hugely inconvenient. The lockers were the perfect size for my small suitcase and bag which I appreciated not having to check it. They sell locks for very cheap so don’t worry about it if you don’t own one.
The place is better than other hostels I have stayed
Was my first hostels experience, and it was much better than i thought it would be. So i only can recommend it!
I stayed in Florence and Milan and both of them was amazing experience for me.
I hope someday ı can stay again.I had so much fun and great memories…
I loved the experience! It’s perfect for both people who want to be social and those who want to relax and get a good nights sleep. Very friendly and helpful staff.
We had a really good time at Yellowsquare and we enjoyed the place as well as the staff’s kindness.
I stayed here for 2 nights. Great and welcoming staff, good facilities, multiple and well prepared shared area for relax, chill, bar, and kitchen. However, during the 80s and 90s songs party night. It was very hard to sleep, I was in building B, ground floor, you could fell the windows shaking because of the sounds of the DJ. This was 2 AM, not 11 PM, not 1 AM, but 2 AM. Although the party was under the ground, still not well isolated, I really had hard time to get to sleep. Of you’re planning to stay here and not willing to party, then avoid the days when they have the DJ. Food there is great, worth every penny, they also give you a free drink coupon. I’d stay here again but not during the parties nights. One last not, shower in my room was broken, room MB02.
I had a pleasant stay here. It’s in a tucked away location but well connected — only a couple of minutes’ walk from Porta Romana on the M3 Metro line, direct to Duomo or Central Station, and the No. 9 tram to Porta Genova.
The common areas were cheerfully decorated, and there was a full calendar of events to engage people, though I didn’t get to try them out due to commitments. Unfortunately, my sleep was badly disturbed by the Friday night party, despite provision and use of earplugs.
My dorm room was clean and modern, with good bathroom. Bunk bed ladder was uncomfortable to climb (narrow treads) and individual lighting was badly set up to flood the entire room. Curtains would have been appreciated.
Staff were helpful, breakfast selection and quality of food was excellent. Though I’d tried to economise, this still seemed expensive for a hostel (even to my Milanese friend) but it seemed difficult to do better for the price. I’d consider it if I came back, though I’m not much of a returning traveller.
