YellowSquare Reviews: Milan
Located in the heart of the Porta Romana district, YellowSquare Milan offers female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms. Instead of a formal office, we have The Baretto, a laptop-friendly space where you can work, study, and eat during the day before it turns into an aperitivo and social meeting spot. Salone14 is our events hub in Milan, it's a local 'it-spot' where travelers and locals meet for live music, DJ sets, stand-up comedy, karaoke, and creative projects, it's more like a nightlife without leaving the hostel.
As this my first ever hostel experience, the whole place felt very familiar and has set the bar for my expectations for my future hostel stays!
Totally great!
Just average. Food was great from cafe. Excellent social events organised but some staff were not very friendly. I didn’t feel their enthusiasm.
Yellowsquare team is the most helpfull, open-minded hotel staffe I’ve ever met. Great, wonderful people!
Great hostel in a central, yet quiet, part of Milano. The room was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing we missed was a few hooks to hang some stuff on. Otherwise everything was great 😀
A clean space, with a lot of activities and services, very happening and ideal for young people. Requires metro train to access from main Centrale station (intercity trains).
Had a wonderful stay in Yellow Square, the hostel is well located, the staff is very helpful, the facilities are good, clean place and a lot of activities to do while enjoying the city of Milan ! I would definitely come back !
good
I had a relaxed day in the apartment.
The guests were cool, bed clean and comfortable.
There was a sewage-like odour in the shower room. Otherwise, it’s not something that took away from the experience.
We were really satisfied with our visit of Yellowsquare hostel in Milan. We appreciated the upgrade from 8 people dorm to 4 people dorm and the delicious breakfast the most.
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here, and would 100% stay again if we even visit Milan in the future. The staff were super friendly, the room (a 4-bed dorm) was great, the bathroom was modern, there was aircon in the rooms and whole building, and the beds were really nice and each had a safe, a power socket, a shelf, and a big locker with coat rail inside. The bathroom attached to the room was a little bit small and pokey but still super nice and renovated with everything you need. All of the common areas were awesome too, and the breakfast options they offer downstairs were a really good deal for the price you pay. The location of the hostel was also great, with a tram and metro stop literally a two minute walk away. If you’re considering staying here, definitely do!
All was really gooood
Friendly front of house. Convenient location. Good vibe for the time
This place was so good, the activities were so fun and the rooms were great. Good services too with a laundry and a kitchen.
I loved it here!!!!
The only thing i want to say is that i would be a good idea to have an odor neutralizing flavoring in each room.
everything about the stay was great. they had rules that kept things quiet in the room
only thing was the lack of coworking space. part of the reason i booked yellowsquare was because they mentioned a coworking space online, however when i was there, i learned that it was fully booked and that there was only 2 conference-style rooms, not an actual working space.
I had to move around throughout the common areas because they would get loud
A nice, chill hostel with helpful staff, excellent air conditioning, good food and drinks, and plenty of places to relax in the sun. Very close to the metro and bus stops, and an easy walk to various sites of interest. Public swimming pool nearby (check closures online, it was closed when I was visiting). Lovely gluten free bakery a 7 minute walk away (Glufre bakery). Clean kitchen available in the hostel, but could do with more cutlery and mugs, and maybe a toaster.
I stayed one night in a private room in YellowSquare Milano.
Everything from checking in, to the room and the common areas was really nice!
Thanks to the nice staff for good beer and coffee. And some good recommendations for the area.
Will definitely come back since I did not get to join the events they had.
Thanks again 🙏
I am really enjoying in Yellow Square. 10/10
It was a great hostel. Awesome events and lovely staff.
Amazing Stay – Highly Recommend!
I had a fantastic experience at this hostel. The location is perfect — close to everything you need. The rooms were clean, spacious, and really comfortable. The food and drinks were great, and I especially appreciated the awesome coffee and cookies!
One of the best things was the nightly events. They created a super friendly and social atmosphere, making it easy for everyone to meet and connect. Massive shoutout to Luciano, the Argentinian guy — he was super nice and absolutely hilarious. He really added to the vibe of the place.
All in all, a great stay. Would definitely come back!
One of the best hostel I was on my life
The rooms are rly clean and the people are awesome. If u like a social hostel this is the place. They host bunch of activities like dance classes, karaoke and art nights. So if u dont have any plans for the night u could just join the hostel activities which I loved. Definitely a big recommendation. Only downside was that the bunk beds and everytjing is made lf metal so staying quiet is rly hard. Everytime u accidentally toucj or hit smth its rly rly loud. I highly recommend earplugs bc the hostel is quiet busy and loud till very late. But if u have earplugs this is not even a problem. 🙂
I really enjoyed my stay at YellowSquare Milan. The staff were all very welcoming and the people were fun to be around. Frequent events made it easy to socialize and make friends
The rooms were perfect and very clean. Ensuite bathroom was spotless. Kitchen was slightly dirty and disorganized, with not a whole lot of cutlery or plateware. Could use some work.
The place was good but they need to give more activities to the guests I’ve been in others hostels where they have more activities than just a bar at night
I recently stayed at Hostel and had a great experience. The location is excellent—close to public transportation, shops, and restaurants, making it easy to explore Milan. The staff was very friendly and helpful, always ready to give local tips or help with any needs
Staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were good quality and clean, nice social events ok each evening, a very pleasant experience!
I was met with friendly service. My room was spotless along with the restroom. My room was organized everyday and I really hated to leave. Great stay, great deal. I already posted on my social media for my friends to stay here!
We arrived after midnight and were greeted with a free upgrade, which was amazing after a long and very delayed travel day
The woman at the reception was very rude and had a bad way of saying things. Also the room that was given had no daylight and was a corner room and was very stuffy. I was very pleased with the hostel in Rome. But this is the second time I have stayed in Milan, people have changed and unfortunately my experience this time was bad.
I really enjoyed this hostel. It is super social and having a bar is a plus. The location was also quite good with only a short metro ride to the centre. The only downsides was the noise from the club underneath and not having curtains. Other than this it was amazing.
I liked the hostel. I booked a shoebox dorm wich wasn’t too small at all and the hostel itself was pretty clean and I really liked the terrace.
The kitchen wasn’t equipped really good tho.
It’s awesome
I loved staying in the 4 bed female dorm. I made really cool friends and always had someone to go exploring with. The room was always clean and the bathroom was amazing. Super clean and everything worked perfectly. I would highly recommend staying at this Hostel if visiting Milan. It is also super close to the metro for traveling purposes.
This is a great social hostel located close to the Porta Romana metro station about 25 mins from the main Milano Centrale station so great location. There are quite a few social events on each day such as the hidden gems walking tour and the Karoke/Beerpong night. Very clean facilities I was in a 4 bed female dorm and really enjoyed making new friends here. About a 30 minute walk to the duomo, galleria, and other landmarks. Overall a really great experience and can get breakfast, lunch and dinner here also.
Very small and tight rooms with very little room to open suitcase or change. Laundry was very difficult to use and there was only 1 washer and dryer
