YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
If you are looking a place for party everyday, this is the place. If you are a digital nomad looking for a space to work and rest, maybe is not the best option. The staff were nice, it’s clean and the beds are comfortable but too much party for me.
I really had a great time at YellowSquare in Florence; the only thing I missed was a place to work; sometimes the bar was so loud to do meetings. Also, I tried to go outside, but the employee threw me out of the chairs, so I needed to do a few meetings on the stairs. I work for an American Company. Unfortunately, I need to shift my hours to MT, which means that I would need to work until 2 am. Besides the fact of this episode, the place is lovely!! The pool, the bar, the staff, and the atmosphere was really good.
Everything was great. The staff, room and all. The only issue is with the bathroom water getting off the bathroom to the room
1) the food was amazing
2) the reception staff was perfect – in advice in engagement
3) there are daily events at the hostel.
4) the beds are one of the most spacious I have seen in any hostel.
I had a super fun time. Overall a 10/10
Great arts, common areas, friendly staff, separate bathroom showers in the room, map was helpful too. Here are a few things you can improve:
1) Automatically closing door towards the rooms on the first floor to reduce noise
2) get rid of the motion sensors in bedrooms, or have a way to turn them off at night. In the bathroom they would be ok
3) use bed for the beds, it vibrates less, dampens noise and is more sustainable
4) install curtains in the beds
5) install noise dampening on the doors so they don‘t shut aggresively
Yellow square Florence was amazing! Clean, friendly staff and amazing social atmosphere! The staff ran activities every night which made it easy to meet people, but most people were solo travelling and eager to make friends outside of organized activities as well
From the staff to the facilities, everything was excellent. I particularly enjoyed how smoothly everything went, and the little details that went into making the stay as pleasant as could be (such as the sunscreen and free water near the pool, or the fun activites offered each night).
The hostel is amazing! I made friends super fast, the activities were nice and the pool super cool. Everything was really clean and aesthetic. The only thing is that it’s a 15 min walk from the city but I didn’t mind! Loved it and can’t wait to go back.
Yellowsquare Florence is a lively hostel about 25 min walk from the main old city center of Florence. While it’s a bit further out than ideal, the hostel makes up for it with great communal spaces including a rooftop POOL! In the hot summer the rooftop pool was an amazing amenity that we used everyday. The downstairs hangout space and outdoor front patio were also very fun. They also have a shared kitchen space, and interior courtyard, and even other meeting spaces for classes and things. It’s on the larger side of hostels but that made things even more lively and fun.
One of the best hostels I stayed at on my journey around Europe. Vibe was great on the get-go with friendly staff, and it had all the facilities that I needed. Comfortable beds and room with nice touches.
The hostel and all it has to offer is amazing.
The only thing that stopped me from giving it a 10 was it’s location… it was a bit far from the center
We enjoyed our stay – the room was clean, the staff always friendly and the pool a great add-on 🙂 we only missed some equipment in the kitchen – once the dishwasher was running we did not even find enough spoons and plates for breakfast. For supper there was only one free pot for cooking… also the space in the fridges was not sufficient.
We felt really safe all the time and the property was beautiful. The rooftop was amazing and the best place to relax.
The hostel is modern and fashionable, the rooms are very comfortable and clean, but the best part is the super friendly staff and the events they organize every day. Put a smile on your face and – voilà – you have made tons of new friends.
I stayed there for three nights and it was so much better than I expected and than any other Hostel I’ve ever been. I got full access to the rooftop swimingpool (from which I could see the main Cathedral), my room had both aircon and private bathroom, everything was quite clean and the beds were confortable and had a bar to hang a curtain. The staff was extremely nice and the Hostel organizes an activity every day (gelateria tour, club night, pictionary night…). I absolutely recomend going and if I ever go back to Florence I will stay there.
The staff was friendly, nice house, good place
I really enjoyed my stay here, the staff were super friendly and welcoming. I found the breakfast to be great value for the price and really enjoyed the common areas especially the outdoor terrace. The rooms were great and spacious with ample space for bags and things in lockers.
Overall the hostel was clean and very interesting! They provided a lot of activities and socialization opportunities and the people I met along the way was unforgettable
I had a great time, thank you guys 🙂 Altough, I was travelling alone, I´ve never felt alone. The first night was a nice party at the nightclub downstairs, awesome! Besides that, there was a Poolparty and a Karaoke night. Always a opportunity to meet new people and have a good time 🙂
The hostel was very clean, always fresh cool air and the pool was great for a refreshment.
Our expectation was that there would be a breakfast buffe. This expectation came from booking.com where you could book the accomodation including breakfast and it also said you could ad on breakfast for 2.5 euro. However this option was not available at the hostel.
I was so looking forward to staying here, but it was awful. Firstly, there were some difficulties with my booking which I thought had needed resolved. I even checked, upon checking in, that was staying 3 nights from that date and checking out the Monday as this had been an issue. They confirmed this was the case. Fast forward 2 days, I arrive back at 10pm to find my room locked and all of my belongs gone. Obviously, I was very upset over this. I then went to reception to resolve this and was told there was nothing on the system and when I asked where all my stuff was I was told they had it. Initially no one seemed to know what to do, then someone arranged a room in a dorm for the night, however
This is not what I was told when checking in. I was then appalled to be handed my luggage in black bin bags which was humiliating. I asked where my passport was as it had been in the safe and no one seemed to know. Then, I arrived into the dorm to odd looks due to having my luggage in black bin bags. Thankfully, my dorm mates were lovely and helped me sort out all of my belongings as they had just been thrown in the bags. My passport nearly
went into the bin, as it was thrown into another black bin bag and at the bottom of a black bin bag, it simply looked like rubbish.
The whole experience was beyond humiliating and as a first experience with Yellow Stone I will certainly not be booking again.
With regards to the actual facilities, the pool area is much smaller than it looks and very busy. The ‘zen’ area which I went to for some quiet didn’t have a a single chair on the decking. It is next to a busy road so the outside space just listens to traffic every minute.
Honestly, I would not recommend this experience to anyone.
I also found that the hostel felt too large and found it quite hard to actually meet people and talk to them. This was not a good experience overall.
I loved it there, best hostel, amazing staff. Loved the cheap drinks and a.c., had the best sleep. As girls, we felt safe <3
I am planning another trip to Florence and this is my preferred hostel. Have been already telling everyone I have met that this hostel is a good spot for travellers.
I enjoyed my stay at the YellowSquare Florence a lot! The rooms are spacious and very clean. The hostel itself is full of nice places to sit and relax, inside and outside, and the rooftop swimming pool is awesome! The view on Florence is impressive! Everything in the hostel was arranged well, and the staff is helpful and organizes a lot of fun activities as beerpong and poolparties. Enjoyed my time to the fullest and I will definitely come back!
The hostel is new, clean and comfortable.
It is fresh in the summer and offers many activities to meet the other guests.
It is well located : 15min from the train station and 20-30min from the centre.
Pool is a great plus to meet people and relax.
All the staff were very friendly, chatty and approachable.
I enjoyed the company of the guests and the contemporary interior design and facilities available. All the guests were respectful in the dorms and not noisy.
Will definitely stay here again
Everyone were really friendly, staff was also very nice and helpful, the rooms were also tidy and comfortable. Had an amazing stay, definitely next time I’ll be coming back!
Probably one of the hostels with the best facilities I have ever stayed at. A pool, a nice bar, balconies at the rooms, more then one events a day and a reasonable price for drinks (4 e for the cheapest large beer). The bar is a bit loud and open to 2 am. So I understood from people sleeping on the ground floor this could be a bit of an inconvenience.
I had a great time at Yellowsquare Florence. The bed was super comfy, luggage storage was very convenient, the people were all super nice and I immediately connected with a couple of girls I met in my room and in the elevator. The hostel has a nice patio and a bar/café in the lobby. Also, there is a pool on the rooftop! The events happening everyday are a super nice touch. All in all, I can only recommend a stay.
We booked 2 beds in a mixte room. The beds are very functional with a safe box in it. The staff were really friendly. We liked the swimming pool and the view on the top floor. We wished there was a laundry room but other than that, perfect !
Hostel just perfect!!! For sure the best I’ve ever stayed… location is very good, easy access from the train station to all tourist attractions. Beautiful, modern and very organized environment. All staff very attentive, friendly and available at all times. Very delicious food and drinks. Definitely the best place to stay in Florence.
This is the first time I am travelling alone. YellowSquare was a fantastic place to meet people. The roof top pool and bar was a great social environment. The rooms are nice and cool and the bathrooms are decent. There are also a good number of activities hosted by the hostel for those who feel like they don’t want to travel too far.
The staff were so welcoming and friendly and willing to help, the activities put on were great fun and really helped us to meet new people, it was very sociable. The rooms were clean and the hostel was situated just outside of the centre of the city with incredible facilities and a breathtaking view from the rooftop. I will definitely recommend this hostel to anyone who wants to stay in Florence!
The hostel has great facilities and a lot of cool places. The staff was super sweet and welcoming. The social activities were nice cool and it was nice with cool initiatives.
This was my first hostel experience, and it was definitely a great one! The location is excellent, the rooms are very clean, staff is very friendly, and their are alot of great free activities.
It is also great place to meet people, i was solo traveling and the hostel hosted alot of other solo travelers from all over the world!
Can’t find a single bad thing about this hostel ! The rooms were clean, the food was great, the activities as well ! The pool is definitely the place to be in summer as it was around 40 degrees in Florence ! Met a lot of amazing people during the span of two days! This place attracts young, outgoing travelers that are just looking to have fun and meet people ! Will definitely be coming back very soon !
