YellowSquare Reviews: Rome
YellowSquare Rome is located a 10-minute walk from the city center and is a solo-traveler friendly base. We offer female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms for all types of travelers. If you need to get work done, Smartsquare is our professional coworking space. For food and social vibes, Yellow Bar is our main restaurant and events hub, while the Arcade hosts stand-up comedy and activities in the basement. It’s the perfect place to meet travellers, grab a drink, go for stroll with new friends and connect with our global community.
Easy check in, and secure facility. We had a private room which was good for a couple, but it was facing the Main Street and the noise of the bar went on all night.
Aside from that it is in a good location to the terminal station, and easy walk everywhere.
Staff were very helpful and the whole hostel, bar, kitchen and lounge were very clean and well equipped. Would 100% recommend and I hope to stay here in future.
Everyone was so kind and welcoming. The hostel was clean and just as it looked in the photos. It is close to Roma Termini which is great and very convenient!
Great facilities being relatively clean, awesome social atmosphere at the hostel with many events put on each night
Clean accommodations, great staff, and lots of on site services
In short, the hostel for me was ideally located. Everything is super well organized between the different buildings and the staff is great. I just think that the prices are a bit high but so it is in Italy, and the bathroom for an 8-person dormitory is too small. People in my room did not respect general rules of quietness but this is not the hostel’s fault
Amazing hostel! Rooms super clean and comfortable beds. Only thing is the shared bathrooms are a bit grim. Volunteers are also super fun and make every night at the bar amazing :))
Nice free amenities, could be cleaner and have more activities that are free. Really friendly staff and coworking space it great. The public laundry is awful and the bar food is pricey compared to local options.
Good hostel with a good social atmosphere, events, kind staff. There is a bar, launderette, and kitchen, which is nice.
The rooms are clean and okay.
Pricing though is quite crazy for a hostel, this place can charge more than a hotel depending on when you book, for a bed in a dorm.
I felt like for the very high price (3 times more than what I paid in all other the cities of my trip), the hostel should have been a lot better. I stayed in hostels that were 3 times as cheap (and no, they weren’t in Bulgaria or something similar) and that were waaaaay better, there’s no comparison.
Had an awesome experience. Excellent customer service, super accommodating. The laundromat was the cheapest I’ve found in Europe, and the free pasta offered most nights was also really good!
Good experience, lots of events and staff is very cool ! Rooms are clean and not too small
Besides the snoring at night and how noisy people can get early in the morning, everything else was fine
I just wished they could fix my bed as well since I stayed there for a whole week and they could just change the sheets couple times ,overall not a bad experience if your main reason on this trip is not comfort.
The staff was friendly & kind. The room was clean and the roommates also were respectful. I would definitely recommend it !
Each time I stay in this hostel I convince myself that it’s the best.
I like that each bed has its own plug, and appreciate all the available amenities.
However, it would be good to have mosquito nets on the windows (especially on the ground floor), as I got bit a lot. More charging options in the room would also be good.
Ladders unsteady and hard to climb (esp. at night)
Because the beds are made of metal, there is a fair amount of noise when people move in their sleep.
As a single American woman, I was hesitant to travel alone in a big city. This hostel made me feel safe while also giving me a young atmosphere and incorporating a great cultural experience!!!
Very good place to stay , very clean, weel located close to the train station (however this area is not the best one of Roma if think concerning the security…) The reception is open 24/24 hours which is very suitable if your plane arrives late. Great place to meet new people, there are a lot of solo travelers and the bar/nightclub in front of the hotel allowed me to meet new people very rapidly.
Dormitories are confortable, the bed was OK, bathroom as well, cleaned everyday …. unfortunalely my “roomates”wasn’t very clean and respectful about others but that’s the risk of sharing things with strangers.
Overall very recomendable place to stay, especially for solo travelers.
Wonderful spot to relax and recover at.
Very clean and tidy, there was always someone cleaning.
Rooms: nice and organized. Clear rules. Separated (another building) from kitchen, reception an common places. Secure entrance with magnetic card.
Bathroom: clean, handy. 3 WC, 3 showers. They weren’t a lot but enough for the people that were there. I didn’t have to wait to use them.
Kitchen: had everything we needed to serve ourselves. Most of the people doesn’t cook
I had a very great stay at Yellowsquare Rome! I only stayed for one night but i felt comfortable the whole time. I had a very early arrival and i was able to leave my bags and use all of the common areas until my room was ready which helped lots.
Noise and loud voices in the hall at 3am,
Bunk beds without any separation or curtain for a bit of intimacy,
Welcoming not so great, an hostel should be a greeting place where you’re happy to land and we make you feel so
70€ for such a poor experience is really stealing a traveller’s money
Me and my sister enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back
I had an amazing stay at YellowSquare in Rome, which far exceeded all my expectations. The hostel’s vibrant atmosphere and modern amenities made it a perfect base for exploring the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure guests had everything they needed. The location is ideal for tourists, offering easy access to major sights and local hotspots. YellowSquare isn’t just a place to stay; it’s where adventure begins in Rome. Highly recommended for any traveler looking for an unforgettable experience!
The staff were incredibly kind and respectful, and I had a lovely time staying at the hostel. The only piece of feedback I have is that the metal material the bunk beds were made out of was very loud, so it was difficult to stay quiet for my roommates. I don’t know how this might change, but if there could be some way to minimize the noise that would be helpful.
The room has no natural light, the bathroom was too small, and we have to cross the street to access to the hostel that we saw on pictures.
Clean, secure, comfortable, and eventful.
Only downside was that it was a bit expensive per night.
We are both happy on be able on visiting you another time (me and my couple)
The hostel had the best vibe. The events were so fun and it’s so convenient it being just across the road. The room was spacious and clean and all the staff were super friendly. I was a solo female traveller and would definitely go back.
the staff working were lovely and were really helpful when you had questions about getting around rome! the room was perfect for our stay, had the basics of what you needed and did the job for when your needing to shower and sleep!
the bar across the street was great for drinks and something to eat, has activities to take part in too.
Had such a great time there, I was solo tripping for the first time so I was scared to make friends but they had so many social events (free ones too!) and a whole group chat which was amazing! Location is also prime 🙂
The hostel is super well located, and it has everything! Like kitchen and fridge, which I really appreciated. However, the mattress was not very confortable and it was zero privacy between the beds (not curtains in each bed and all of the beds were facing each other).
I spent a couple of super good nights at the hostel, it had very good facilities, everything was very comfortable.
Maybe just one detail is that I had to stay in a room close to the playground so the noise was quite loud around 12:00 (midnight) when I wanted to sleep.
I appreciate that your staff is very customer-oriented. I was happy I was able to change room. The hostel is also in a good location. But in terms of facilities I don’t think I got value for money. The dorm rooms are small and very basic. No tea, coffee and milk provided (I don’t think this would have cost you a fortune). I left YellowSquare feeling it was too expensive.
Great and spacious room, with nice facilities and great location.
Bed was ok. Check in and check out were easy. Location was ok.
I met a few people at the bar and was able to talk to them.
It can be difficult to connect with other travellers in a foreign city, if you don’t know anybody.
But here it was comparatively easy.
