YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
There were partying in the night at the yellow bar which is pretty loud. On the top of that I got a snoring roommate who made it even more miserable.
Good!!
Absolutely brilliant, clean, friendly, fun, good value.
This was my first hotel experience, and it was really good. Staff was helpful when we had questions about nightlife, hostel is in a great location, the facilities and the rooms are clean. Great to have discounts in the hostel bar as well, definitely recommend.
Ask people for their intentions (party, culture etc) and then match dorms according to the intentions
My stay was very good with plenty of activities and social opportunities. The hostel dorms were great but it’d be cool if there were curtains or dividers for the beds. It was disappointing that there were no facilities to wash clothes like it said on Hostelworld. They instead gave an address for a cash only place 10 minutes away. Everything else about the hostel was amazing.
Great hostel
I basically chose this hostel for the price, but realized I got an awesome deal! There were free pastas given at every evening, and events were being held as well. The lobby was designed as a bar, and you could meet lots of people there. The 4-bed rooms were decent enough, and I cannot say that I was let down.
I had a layover in Milan and returned to this hostel for a second time (I previously stayed here last year for a few days) and am glad I chose to stay here again even though it was far from the airport. The room was very clean and comfy, the food in the restaurant was great, the art night was enjoyable and the atmosphere was nice!
Savage events every night doing karaoke, beer pong, salsa dancing and loads more. Free pasta every Monday to Thursday and it’s really tasty. The bedroom was very clean and the beds were comfy. Bathroom was lovely and clean too. Kitchen was stocked with pasta, cereal and loads of spices so you can cook fairly cheaply. Close to everything, not that you’re gonna wanna leave the bar or common area!!
Pretty Organized, cool people and lots of events to hang out. Everton on reception helped me a lot, so polite and attentive, with great tips.
Beds were comfortable, but those metal walls are making lots of noise. The ventilator in bathroom didn’t work, causing a lot of humidity and fog. There should be more hangers in the bathroom. There was no cleaning service. It was a bit dirty on the floor. There were stains on the bedsheets. The charging points were overheating. Toilet paper was not refilled, even though there was a person preparing bed for new person, which means that this person didn’t care to check other things in the room.
the yellow is a really fun place for a first time in Rome! the biggest thing that made a difference for me was their lovely staff, in particular Serhat was extremely helpful and Rany was a super kind and fun to be around
Experience in general was very good, location, staff, room. I was surprised that there were so many activities organized everyday (I wish I was so tired every day after my visits to come and join an event).
And though I feel that room very not very well isolated and at night noises in the street and hallways were very loud, I managed to have a good sleep every night.
The shower in my room was the only issue that upset me. The drain would block and a flood of water would collapse and over flow if you took a shower a bit too long, which it was also a bit disgusting having that drain blocked.
My previous experience in other hostels have not been so good but specially because of the other people in the room. So I was glad that during the whole week I had some very respectful quiet girls sharing the room with me. Even though the left the bathroom a bit filthy and wet, they were very nice and mindful of each other’s sleep.
I definitely would recommend yellowsquare!
Wonderful place with friendly staff. I loved the idea of voting for a movie. I was exhausted from my previous travels but would have been so happy to join. Everything about the Yellow Door was welcoming and charming.
This was my first ever time in a hostel and I can say that I am really glad that it was in YellowSquare. At first, I was very worried about staying in a hostel but everything was tidy and the furniture was modern. The atmosphere was really nice and I know that I would definitely come back!
Yellow Square is a very social place and that’s the number one thing for me while choosing a hostel. Always something is going on. Will be back again for sure!
I stayed in a 4 bedroom female dorm. There were enough security amenities for me to feel my belongings were safe. However, there was not enough stowage/surfaces to allow for an organized space. Would have liked to see more drawers/organization tools. Furthermore, the cleaning regime wasn’t very clear, and there was no hand towel included, which would have been nice.
But in conclusion, the staff was always helpful, the concept is very fun and the facilities were pleasant enough.
Really great place
An incredible ambience
They are so kind
I had a good time in this hostel, the facilities are very nice, both in reception and in the room, everything is modern. Just the bathroom could have a stool/bench to place things, that would make it easier.
The hostel also organizes events so travellers can meet each other, which is nice. The club downstairs can get loud at night, so I used the noise cancelling bud provided by them and was fine after that.
The place, location, staff, events, all of it was great. I hope to come back to Milan soon, and yellosquare will be my first choice to stay. Truly a great place to have spent my first time in Milan
I had a great time. I stayed in a female dorm and met some really lovely people at the place. I had booked the breakfast too before arriving and I’m glad I did.
Wow !!! I loved my stay at YellowSquare Rome, I had the best time. The place is clean, pretty and cool. Beds are comfortable, shared bathrooms are so clean, the kitchen is amazing with full equipment, free pasta/cereals and a big table to eat with other travellers. The YellowBar and the planned activities make it so easy to make new friends. And the staff is super nice. I totally recommend it to everyone!
Firstly, there’s mold in the hostel which you can see in the shower ceiling.
It’s there to such quantities that drinking water and sleeping in the bunks gave me allergies.
Secondly, my female dorm bathroom always had a smell because of bad ventilation and moisture.
Thirdly, you can find a better location in Rome, this hostel is kinda far from everything and anywhere closer to the river is better.
It’s kinda shady around the hostel at night so as a female solo traveler the hostel staff recommend me to come back around 7-8pm.
I’d say find another hostel
I really really really liked my stay at your hostel. The staff was 99999/10, everyone from the bartender to the welcoming staff were super nice and frendly, the athmosfere was cool, we made new friends and the karaoke party was a blast. We stayed to 2 more hostelst in milano and florence but they were nothing compared to this.
My while thermal shirt was surprisingly disappeared from the room, complained but no solution!!
Booked this hostel cause of the location and price, also wanted to try out something out of my comfort zone. Slept in a 6 bed female only dorm and met some lovely girls with whom it was a pleasure to share the room. Great activities within the hostel and amenities as well – also the room was quiet during the night despite the parties which was a huge plus!
I had a great time overall, great staff great people a lot of variety in age nationality etc. Very good stay!
It was a nice welcoming hostel, the female dorm had plent of space.
I loved the energy of this hostel! Check in was easy and smooth, and the bar was great and super convenient. I took part in the basement dance parties, and the team games and both were really fun and a great way to meet people in the hostel! I made a lot of friends staying here!
Just a great time, if all hostels were like this then I’d never stay in a hotel.
Everyone was wonderful and friendly.
Everyone was so incredibly friendly and welcoming! I was upgraded to a private room because of overbooking of 6-person rooms and it was the best surprise after a long day of travelling. Everything was extremely clean, the breakfast at Yellow Bar across the street was great and really reasonably priced, and I enjoyed a delicious cappucino with the free drink card.
This was my first time hostel experience travelling to a foreign country and I LOVED it.
YellowSquare offered everything a traveller could possibly need. From a bar which served excellent coffee and breakfast in the morning to various events organized in the evening. It is also well eqipped with kitchen, dining room, living room as well as laundry. Also, a big plus is that it is conviniently located, only a few minutes walk from Roma Termini (main bus/train station).
Finally, the staff at the reception are really nice and eager to help. A HUGE recommentation! I will for sure stay with them the next time I visit Rome, Milan or Florence.
This place is amazing. I knew nothing about Florence and I leave feeling like a local. Great location for easy exploration of the city, great food, the staff knows the city pretty well and always has a good recommendation for you. The rooms were super safe and confortable, and every day they had something different and fun. This is definitely the place you want to stay while in Florence.
