YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
I really enjoyed my stay. Staff are great and the facilities are really good.
Overall I had a really good experience here, the staff were friendly and the people staying were amazing. I was staying in a very spacious dorm with good places to keep my things. I really enjoyed my stay here.
It was a perfect stay ! Reception are really nice and smile ! The rooms are great, and the rooftop has the best view on the city !
Overall a nice spot for short trip, it’s clean and has big space in room. Just one thing, it would nice to wash or change the quilt from time to time. My quilt has stain on it.
Dear Yellowsquare team,
You are a great team, you always smile to the customers and always helpful.
Love you all, for sure I’ll come back, it’s a threat.:):)
Good evening and Merry Christmas to all!
Everything was grea, the staff the location the parties
Very nice stay with wonderful reception staff. Easy to get into the city and see the sites. The only negative was that there was some mold in the shower. Otherwise the bathroom and room was clean and well maintained.
This hostel was very welcoming and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. There was some false advertising about all the opportunities offered, for example they have not had a yoga class in 1.5 years which I was looking forward to. The events they held were completely in Italian, so it was not as engaging for me since I do not speak the language.
The room was comfortable, the other guests and staff were friendly, and the food and drinks at the bar were good and well priced. I loved the free pasta at night. The hostel was clean and well-kept, and I felt that everything was professional while still being fun.
I appreciated the location of this hostel, the amenities and the overall vibe! The staff is friendly and helpful! I recommend it!
Great staff, great facilities, great location. Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Thank you!
Bar area great, very sociable in general with plenty to get involved in. Standard rooms, no complaints there. Easy location too!
Great location, clean and loved the bar.
I really enjoyed my stay. The atmosphere was great, the common areas are lively, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Everything felt easy and relaxed.
The only downside was that my room had a bit of an unpleasant smell at times, and the locker door needed a bit of “trick” to close properly. Nothing major, but it’s why I rate it a 9 instead of a 10. Overall, a very good experience.
The staffs were very polite welcoming . We were even given room upgrades for the same price we’ve paid . It was a lucky day for us. Breakfast was great for a very affordable price compared to any other restaurants .
It was my first time staying at a hostel and Yellowsquare Athens was the perfect choice. The staff were very kind and helpful (even for unique needs such as praying), the room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable, and the balcony and rooftop view were fantastic add-ons. The piece is quite affordable as well.
Nice hostel, quite clean with great location and nice staff.
Kitchen is poorly furnished and dirty as well, serration does not function so all doors get trapped.
The room was incredible. Very spacious, the lockers were big and could fit my carry-on, plus a backpacks and some boots. The bathroom was also great: also spacious and the shower was pretty big as well. Very clean, in a good location, with access to 2 tram stations that connect both to the airport station and the central train station.
Friendly staff, immaculate rooms, and common areas, excellent restaurant quality kitchen preparing paid for meals, daily activities bringing people together and four minute walk to T2 tram to train station an the heart of Florence’s main attractions.
Overall everything was clean and nice.
I stayed in the 4-bed girls room (in the middle bed). I felt like there was less space around my bed than the others.
The bathroom door closed/opened quite loudly, it was impossible to not make noise with it. I was a bit annoyed with this because if you arrive or leave while the others are still asleep, then there was no way to avoid the noise.
I arrived also with a larger suitcase that I used for work-related items. I chose the hostel partially because online it said that there is a storage room available. During check-in, I also discussed it with the staff and they didn’t make an objection. However, a few hours later on when I came down from my room to put the suitcase in the storage room, the same exact staff member made it an inconvenience and said that “we usually don’t accept luggage for a long period of time and it’s also large” etc, my stay was 2 nights… I was quite disappointed to hear them refuse it. They could have just said it’s full or something, this was just them not wanting it/caring. I mean, if you have shared rooms, then it would be reasonable to be able to hold a luggage case for 2 days
Room was not cleaned well – piss under toilet seat, old urine stains around toilet and hair. Cleaners were outside my door yelling or talking loudly every morning, waking me up.
Could acutally work in working space, Kitchen large, Roof top with view in Akropolis.
Room clean everything functioning (shower etc.) would stay always when in Athens.
Great stay overall! The location is super convenient, just a short walk from Roma Termini, which meant I didn’t have to linger around the notoriously dodgy station area. The hostel’s in-house bar was always lively at night and had a very welcoming vibe if you want to join the fun. Plenty of restaurants and shops surround the place, so everything you need is close by.
Overall many major things need improvement:
Cleanliness (the bed frame was very dusty, air quality inside the room (no proper ventilation), renovation standard inside the room and particualy in the washroom with old plastics, take away breakfast standard and the fact that breakfast start very late (7.30 am) so I couldn’t have it and had to take a take away box which was very poor quality.
Really warm and welcoming place. Staff were super chill, kind, and always ready to help. I really enjoyed mu stay.
It was a great stay, while the area seems a bit sketchy it has many great hidden gems of restaurants and shops you don’t expect to run into.
The room was very comfortable with great big cushions on the bed and the shower was also amazing. With free use of the air conditioning and access to a balcony, I was very happy with the autonomy given to keep myself happy.
The bar upstairs was great open space and amazing view of the city and acropolis.
The other shared spaces were also very nice, I didn’t stay in them but the coworking and and reception area looked comfortable and clean for anyone just wanting to sit and relax a little.
It was my first time in a hostel and it was a wonderful experience. I felt very safe the entire stay. The room is amazing and the fact that we had a bathroom only for us made a huge difference in comfort and practicality. The clean service of our room was amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The activities at the hostel are really fun and the Yellow Bar is a good place to hang out at night and meet new people!
Because the beds are made entirely out of metal, they are quite loud. It’s fine, but just hard to be quite if you are leaving early morning or coming in late at night.
As for the wifi, it kept disconnecting and reconnecting. It was a strong signal but during busy hours (e.g. at bed time) it would be really spotty and would disconnect and reconnect repeatedly.
The hostel was social good priced had free pasta and cereal, the showers were amazing and so were the dorm rooms I honestly don’t have a bad thing to say about YellowSquare Florence the only one thing is that it’s a bit out of the way from the center but the walk is nice and there are buses that you can get
Best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. It was clean and modern. Fantastic kitchen facilities! Overall absolutely amazing.
Convenient spot needs no more words. The staff are so nice and the balcony is the best gift I could have in Athens. Every single morning there is wonderful and the welcome drink on the rooftop is even more attractive. Stunning view of Acropolis and the best whether in Athens, how can I ask more?
very helpful staff, fun events, nice looking building and very convenient location
Goid beds, super bar and breakfast
Modern and updated, reasonably clean, friendly staff that care about their workplace and happy to assist their guests.
All in all this is a hostel targeted at young travelers but kind of on the verge of being a hotel.
Excellent!
The location and room were great. However, the bathroom flooded and did not properly drain and the cleaners constantly opened the windows to allow all the mosquitos inside, also when I left a note.
Finally, the wristband system is somewhat dangerous, especially for solo travelers. This is essentially informing the outside world where you are staying.
The Friday night at the bar was also simply creepy.
got a private room when we booked for a 4 people room! staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the man serving breakfast offered to give me ice when I filled up my water bottle.
A wonderfully located accommodation right in the city center.
The rooms are well-equipped for maximum comfort.
The atmosphere is perfect, and the staff are very friendly.
