YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
Very Accommodating! So thankful we could stay here.
Would love to have more places to set stuff down in the shower and more storage in the rooms and pull be fantastic.
Overall wonderful in every other way!
Great facilities, only thing that could be added would be a gym.
I loved my stay at the hostel. They were very pleasant days, a clean, organized environment with pleasant people. I would definitely go back.
The best hostel I’ve ever been to! Especially the bar directly in front of the hostel was the best! Nice parties and events there thank you soooo much!
I love everything about this hostel. The hostel have such a great vibe. There are a lot of events the hostel promote to have fun. But if I want to sleep the room area is quiet and warm, the bed is comfy and the rooms are modern anda clean. I want to come back!
My friends and i went for 3 days and 2 nights, and we reaaally love the place, is near everything and near the metro station so is suuuper easy to move in rome!
We really enjoyed it our time in there.
Nice staff and nice ambiance
The hostel location and facilities were very good and the activities organized by the hostel was the perfect way to make friends. Also the best thing was the bar of the hostel were you could have free pasta, meet new people and party every day.
Probably the best hostel I’ve stayed at. It’s great for making friends, the staff is really friendly, free pasta every evening and comfortable beds. If anything maybe the rooms are a bit on the smaller side. The pool is amazing and the rooftop has great views. I loved it there.
Positive aspects: The hostel in general was pretty good and clean, the people were having a lot of fun. Negative aspects : the kitchen was closed when I got there at 10:15 pm, I couldn’t cook my dinner. The room was really hot even with the window open, and there were honestly 15-20 mosquitoes in the room, I heard them buzzing all night and got stung on the eye. The hostel is not fully responsible for this but having mosquito repellent around would be a good idea.
Location is great, the staff is very kind and helpful
The cooking class is a must !
The hostel is clean, comfortable, and has a grear social vibe
The Hostel is close to the metro, nice restaurant around. The room was super clean and nice !
I had an excellent stay at Yellowsquare, the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable.
The staff were very friendly, thanks to the Lithuanian receptionist for her recommendations (I don’t know her name) and to Daniel for their welcome.
This hostel is great! It is peaceful if you want to rest but it also offers lots of activities if you want to have fun.
I had a great time at the hostel, nice room and común areas were so nice.
Despite a situation I had in room 203, people from reception desk solve our problem gave us another room and refund what I had payed for my stay. So I appreciate that.
I arrived before checking, hoping the drop my luggage off and come back later. But the woman on reception double checked and my bed was ready! She kindly escorted me to my room and offered to help carry my bag as we had a few stairs to climb.
The room itself was great – lockers matching each bed that I could easily fit my two pieces of hand luggage and an en-suite for the 8 beds. Plug and light on the bed which makes such a difference.
I went on the Gelatour on my first night – a must do. It’s a great way to get your bearings, meet new people and more importantly eat gelato.
The staff gave me a voucher for a free drink during happy hour and you can refill your water at reception for free – again, it makes such a difference.
There are so many spaces for people to hang out and chat that the dorm itself was silent. The courtyard is beautiful and I wish I made the most of it, but after stomping around Milan all day I just wanted to go to sleep.
The location is great, it’s just off the M3, maybe a 10 minute walk maximum if you’re tired and you have heavy bags? But you could also easily walk into Milan instead, which I did the second day.
The staff are amazing though, they are so friendly and helpful. Once I’d checked out, they showed me where I could store my bags for the day for 1€ – you probably could fit a decent sized hold luggage in the locker so more than enough space for my two bags.
I will be back!
I paid about double that I usually pay for a hostel but I just wanted a good experience and to not worry about it. The staff was super great and helpful.
The room was ok, was happy with lockers and the safe. The bathroom was filthy unfortunately. There was some “short term” issues like big clumps of hair and other things that stuck around after a few days which isn’t pleasant. The thing that was surprising was all the dirt and stains on the walls. For the amount that was charged for the room I would have expected that to be cleaned.
I was in the waiting room until my check-in time and the room had the air conditioning turned up too high. I asked them to lower it but they told me that they couldn’t do it due to policy. Because of the very cold air, I got sick with the flu and a cough. I find it very inconsiderate towards the guests.
Such a lovely social place! The free pasta and welcome drink was wonderful and I met lots of nice people. Loved the spacious bunks with electricity.
Okay for 1 night, nice bar
Really friendly staff who go above and beyond to cater you stay. Prime location with lots of local amenities. Would deffo return and would recommend
Originally I planned to stay at another hostel, but missed any spaces, so I chose this one instead and did not regret it. I thought I may have been to old to stay at such a hip cool place but fit in absolutely fine. Reception staff were lovely. Cheap towel rental with a free little bag. A free beer on arrival, and free pasta and tortillas! Good random activities you can get involved with. Great bar. Beds are solid and don’t squeak or anything. Simple safe. Personally I don’t like the bathroom to be in the room, but oh well. Great location near to the train station. Walking distance to everywhere. Water fountain outside. All good really
Yellowsquare Florence is a fantastic hostel. The pool is very nice and makes you feel as if you’re staying someone nicer than a hostel. Between the pool, the basement club/bar, the outdoor terrace, etc it is a great place to meet people.
I like the Hostel, but the Rooms are to small, Same with the bathrooms
You can tell this is a quite big and professional hostel. Everything is very clean an well-organised, but it doesn’t have this cosy atmosphere you get in smaller hostels. The breakfast was amazing though and the events were nice. Point of improvement: curtains for the beds.
I like the hostel. The beds was confortably, the bar was fun, the staff was kind, the breakfast a bit expensive, but… I like very much the guitar in the common area, unfortunely I couldn’t play, but it seems like a great idea.
I loved but in the night I Arrived i was really pissed that you were out of towels.
The hostel was really great. The events were great and I felt safe in the area. It’s not far from the metro, but it takes a bit of time to walk to the center. Met lots of nice people. Only the 4-bed room for women is a bit small. Still one of my favorite trips so far. Thank you!
In my view, YellowSquare seems to be a very active hostel. You guys host something everyday that helps in connecting with other people. The staff was super amazing, had a nice interaction with one of them. Cleanliness, my top priority, was there and it was well maintained.
The private room was fine. Clean and simple and cleaned every day. The best part was the international mix of people.
Overpriced stay – room was very tiny, uncomfortable furnitures – metal chair in the room – really? It is extremely uncomfortable to sit on a metal chair with holes! Room was black end depressive. Lack of heating – I got sick. The music in the reception room was so loud that it was unpleasant to sit there. You cannot even enjoy a cup of coffee. Not even tea or coffee included in the price – what a shame. Everyone in the hall outside was smoking, it was uncomfortable to walk there everytime. The kitchen stinked and there was only ONE Spoon !! No mugs in the kitchen. The stay was so uncomfortable I higly regret being there. Never, ever would come back there.
I loved the room, it was cozy, the sheets were clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable.
The location was also great, not far away.
HAving been to a couple of hostels in Italy, this was a good hostel and the atmosphere was great, social enough and very cool.
The rooms and bathrooms were clean, as well as the kitchen which had enough space in the fridge to store your food and eat calmly. The staff was nice, and the free pasta every night was a great plus. Easy access to the tram to go to the city center.
Great place and facilities with kitchen, lounge and co-working space. The only thing I’d say is in my particular building there was only 1 toilet and 1 shower between 18 people. I went to another building in D and they had 3 toilets and showers for the same amount of people and in the reception building also had more.
The place is very lovely, everyone is helping, great vibes only my room was too small I booked with 4 sleeps.
