YellowSquare Reviews: Florence
YellowSquare Florence provides female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms. We have an easy working space in the shared areas where you can grab a coffee and work at the tables before or after check-in. For daily activities and food, Barmezzo has a restaurant and events every day like karaoke, quizzes, and beerpong. Bargiu is where the cool events happen featuring live music, dj sets and stand-up comedy that brings together locals and travelers. During the summer, you can head up to Barsu, our rooftop pool bar where social parties take place with a view.
Overall a good experience, the rooms were clean and the hospitality was great. Only the check in process was long and the bathroom floor had some hair stuck on over places, could have been looked over before.
Its always a pleasure to come back to this hostel. I was staying there when I went to Milan and the experience was awesome. In Florencia it was the same. Great staff, great acommodation and environment!
One of the best hostels I have stayed at! Free pasta every night, lots of events to meet people! Location right near tram and fruit and small groccery shop and coffee shop, proper groccery store about 7 min walk away ! Great beds! Bathroom with every room! Decent kitchen a little stuffy in there but was chill ! Free drink on arrival you can use for any kind of alcohol or non alcohol drink! Felt safe ! Good experience !
Fun place near the city center. Lost of spaces to enjoy. Games and pasta night are good too. Do recommend it!
The place is really close to everything: touristic and historical places, tram and train stations and supermarkets. They have a very warm and helpful staff which are ready every time to answer any question regarding the hostal and the city.
Great modern hostel within walking distance of the train station and the city center. I would especially like to note that the hostel is kept clean and tidy. There is safe access to the rooms and kitchen using an electronic key. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and even some free products. Every day there are some entertainment events and in general there is a cheerful atmosphere. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The girl from Poland who checked me in immediately cheered me up. It was amazing. My room (111) was on the 1st floor. On the one hand, this is very convenient. On the other hand, the music from the club downstairs was audible. But I always used earplugs, so I could sleep. The blanket was very thin. I folded it in half and I did not feel cold. But for a tall person, a folded blanket would be short. There is a safe next to each bed. There are lockers in the room for a backpack or suitcase. But to lock the locker you need a padlock (I had my own). It is a pity that I did not try the free pasta, as I did not understand how I could do this. It is very convenient that the hostel has a bar. The only drawback is that there was no hot water in the hygienic shower in the toilet. I told the cleaning lady about it and she promised to pass my question to the reception, but hot water did not appear. Overall, the impressions of the hostel are positive. I would recommend it to all travelers.
Friendly soaces, lot of things to do. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Gentle staff.
Everybode was kind and tried to help me.
Heart warming welcome.
Good vibes of staff and guests.
For me as celiaca a kitchen makes life a lot easier.
Gorgeos view from rooftop terrace, quiet place.
For Firenze competitive drink prices 😇.
Divers bathrooms 🌈
Well organized.
I stayed two nights at Yellowsquare in Florence. It was a chilly November evening in Italy, and the blankets provided were extremely thin, almost like a sheet of paper. I woke up several times the first night because of the cold. The next morning, I requested an extra blanket at the front desk, but it was still very cold. Unsurprisingly, I caught a cold on the day I left Florence, which affected my travel in Rome as I felt unwell. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t choose Yellowsquare again.
loved this hostel! favourite one i have stayed in so far. the beds were super private, lockers were a really good size and it was super clean. the atmosphere was great with the bar and the club downstairs. had a great party on halloween. only issues were trying to use the luggage storage at check out as there is only one machine and it took a very long time to get through the line and that there were only 2 washers/dryers for such a big hostel. other than that i absolutely loved it!
The accommodation was clean, activities were held, and the employees were very friendly to me! I liked the interior of the hostel as well.
Very good experience when you come alone , the staff is very nice and welcoming.
Overall it was good. I can’t complain about anything. I would definitely choose this place for the next time.
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice activities. Very clean. Nice swimming pool and view from the roof. Nice iniciative to give free pasta and one drink
I had a really good experience definitely one of the best hostels I ever stayed great. Facilities and great staff
This was a well oiled machine if there ever was one. Clean and well maintained rooms and facilities, attentive, available and friendly multilingual and diverse staff, social activities for daytime and night both indoors and outdoors, discounted and exclusive options for guests, automated systems for laundry and storage, balance of open spaces for socializing or quiet time, decent quality of food (especially the nuggets), beautiful pool with Duomo view, proximity to two tram stops, curated link to up to date city activities and experiences, WhatsApp support. And free pesto pasta!!!
We loved our time there, great time, great place, absolutely fantastic !
Very Accommodating! So thankful we could stay here.
Would love to have more places to set stuff down in the shower and more storage in the rooms and pull be fantastic.
Overall wonderful in every other way!
Great facilities, only thing that could be added would be a gym.
Nice staff and nice ambiance
Probably the best hostel I’ve stayed at. It’s great for making friends, the staff is really friendly, free pasta every evening and comfortable beds. If anything maybe the rooms are a bit on the smaller side. The pool is amazing and the rooftop has great views. I loved it there.
Location is great, the staff is very kind and helpful
The cooking class is a must !
I had a great time at the hostel, nice room and común areas were so nice.
Despite a situation I had in room 203, people from reception desk solve our problem gave us another room and refund what I had payed for my stay. So I appreciate that.
Yellowsquare Florence is a fantastic hostel. The pool is very nice and makes you feel as if you’re staying someone nicer than a hostel. Between the pool, the basement club/bar, the outdoor terrace, etc it is a great place to meet people.
I like the Hostel, but the Rooms are to small, Same with the bathrooms
I like the hostel. The beds was confortably, the bar was fun, the staff was kind, the breakfast a bit expensive, but… I like very much the guitar in the common area, unfortunely I couldn’t play, but it seems like a great idea.
In my view, YellowSquare seems to be a very active hostel. You guys host something everyday that helps in connecting with other people. The staff was super amazing, had a nice interaction with one of them. Cleanliness, my top priority, was there and it was well maintained.
The private room was fine. Clean and simple and cleaned every day. The best part was the international mix of people.
The rooms and bathrooms were clean, as well as the kitchen which had enough space in the fridge to store your food and eat calmly. The staff was nice, and the free pasta every night was a great plus. Easy access to the tram to go to the city center.
Great Hostel! I stayed previously in the YellowSquare Rome and just had the best time so wanted to come to the one in Florence. Great social life, events, bar and free pasta! I met some great people and participated in most events in the evenings. Easy to meet people, loved the rooftop pool and view. Clean facilities. Friendly staff. Perfect place to meet people and make new friends. Would 100% recommend- great location also from the airport can get the tram direct and walk about 3 minutes to the hostel. About a 30 minute walk from the main city. Area felt relatively safe for a solo female traveller. Onto Milan next time to complete the YellowSquare trio!
This place was its own building and it sort of felt like a resort which was great!
The staff were all nice and I liked that you had a welcome drink and they offered free pasta (which I never took advantage of).
The rooms were clean and they have events and activities everyday which is good for younger travellers.
The only negative feedback I had is that the water pressure in my room was terrible. It would barely spit out water when showering. I also got breakfast on my last day and there was a bug crawling around which was not a good sign of the cleanliness of the kitchen.
I’ve had a great experience at this hostel. The rooms surprised me (just like a hotel with a toilet and shower for every room). Also the modern and hygienic experience made it pleasant. On top of that, there was a really nice atmosphere among the guests and I’ve had a real good time.
The experience was really great, the staff was very kind, the rooms were clean and the bathrooms too. The laundromat was a savior and the price was fair.
While being very busy, staff were always friendly and happy to help. It has many facilities and provides many opportunities for guests to interact with new people during events and games. Beds were comfortable and are happy to make more private by providing a curtain (flat sheet) on request.
Such a great hostel, definitely worth it going there. Everyone’s very friendly, there’s free pasta in the evenings and the rooms are big enough to have some privacy. Would definitely go there again.
Excellent hostel – really enjoyed it. In particular:
1) Nice social atmosphere
2) Clean modern rooms and bathrooms – I liked also how they had extra toilets on the ground floor
3) Nice food
4) Amazing rooftop views
I would actually have preferred staying here to a stuffy old hotel in the city centre, if given the choice!
Also can you please open a hostel near Venice!
We had an amazing stay overall, the hostel has a great atmosphere and the dorms were quite comfortable. Great place to meet new people and the perfect location to explore the city from but also enough distance from the city center to not be disturbed at night. The staff really stood out, everybody was very friendly!
