YellowSquare Reviews: Florence
YellowSquare Florence provides female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms. We have an easy working space in the shared areas where you can grab a coffee and work at the tables before or after check-in. For daily activities and food, Barmezzo has a restaurant and events every day like karaoke, quizzes, and beerpong. Bargiu is where the cool events happen featuring live music, dj sets and stand-up comedy that brings together locals and travelers. During the summer, you can head up to Barsu, our rooftop pool bar where social parties take place with a view.
Rooms are clean , quiet ,
There is very good animation
The pool is very nice and clean
We had a great experience here in Florence. 10 out of 10 recommend.
It was such a fun hostel to stay at, the atmosphere was always great and the events put on were fun, the price may be steep but it’s worth every cent. There are a lot of areas to socialise, the pool, bar area and the area out front. Everyone is approachable and it’s very easy to make friends. It also does help as a whole that the staff are a class too. I would highly recommend coming here, and then if you’re going to Rome stay in the yellow square there too, met a good 25 people there who was also in the Florence one too.
Nice place with a swimming pool on the rooftop perfect after a long day!
The staff was so nice and there are different type of activities.
The best hostel I’ve stayed at in my 4 months of travel. So easy to meet other solo traveler’s through the common areas, hostel activities, and rooftop pool area. Comfortable temperature in rooms and comfortable beds, with a clean and working bathroom and shower. No complaints from my 5 night stay.
I was only there for two nights, but it’s probably the prettiest hostel I’ve ever been to. Free pasta is such a good oportunity to meet new people – I had a lot of fun. Would recommend the hostel 10/10. ((:
Is incredible the staff treatment all the time your there. The room is in good condition and also the community areas
Holy water should be colder and the bathroom situation is not perfect but apart from that it was great.
The facilities were excellent including the bonus of a pool with an amazing view of the city. There were plenty of organised events which offered opportunities to try new things and meet new people. Happy hour and free pasta were a great part of the experience also. The rooms were comfortable and clean. They had separate toilets and showers making it easy to work around your room mates, full length mirror, hairdryer, bathroom storage for your products and lockers for your bags. Our room also has a balcony.
I rarely leave reviews for anything, but YellowSquare is something where a review is needed. Those were the best four days in my life. Was it hot? You could go to the pool and swim. Did you want a night read outside? The working bar and the outdoor terrace was there. The women I shared the room were the sweetest girls and we went out to explore the city one morning.
The prices for food and drinks are also reasonable. A huge breakfast for just 10€ is a backpacker’s dream. And the staff… I don’t know their names, but every one of them (especially the bartenders) are the nicest and funniest people you can meet.
Usually I book hostels because I need a bed, since I usually just spend the night there and leave. Here… I actually had moments when I thought what is better – going out or staying in the hostel 😂
Also the accessibility to the centre is amazing – just a 5 minute walk to get the T2 tram 🙂
Overall it was pretty good. The staff was very kind and the facilities were nice and clean.
The water drain system is worse in my dorm room.
The staff are very kind and helpful, their organization of the activities brought people together so that I was never truly alone in Florence
The rooms were really nice and the staff as well. Everyone was super friendly and the activities were really fun. It was nice to get to know other people from lots of different countries and I especially enjoyed the pasta cooking class.
The Staff is lovely, the area at the reception so nice for Food, chill and talks. The Food and Drinks are amazing.
The “architecture” is well organized. There are a lot of extra bathrooms next to the pool. The Rooms are friendly designt and the air conditioner works super.
Love to come back.
Best regards Tommy
It was wonderful and the staff is so friendly.
This hostel was completely perfect, it was so clean, fun and had everything you could imagine – felt like more of a 5 star hotel. All of the staff were so friendly, kind, helpful and fun! Could not recommend this hostel more.
Our room was very comfortable (except for the blackout which didn’t quite block out all the light) and the staff was very nice. In a city with overpriced accommodation, this is definitely a great option. Even though it isn’t in the city center, it’s very close to a tram station. The pool on the rooftop is a great selling point!
To be a hostel its incredibile
Everything happened ao well. The location, the room and the staff
From arrival to departure everything was great, the activities planned for the guests were such a nice touch, everyone was so open and friendly and YellowSquare have created a safe environment where everyone can feel comfortable, which is not an easy thing to do. Everything was also so clean and the food was really nice!
Really enjoyed staying at this hostel 🙂 Staff are really friendly and Cleanliness is 10/10. It was a bit further out from the centre of Florence but it wasn’t an issue for me as it has very good transport links and it’s only a 20 mins (slow) walk to the centre.
love the environment here
The perfect way to enjoy Florence. The pool saw many hours of sitting in the sun chilling, socialising and partying. Wouldn’t have been the same without that. The pool was a great place to meet some amazing people. Breakfast was lovely. The facilities and dorms left no complaints. Had a brilliant time
Nice social hostel we you can meet fellow travelers. Location is fine, although a bit far from the historic centre. Only real downside was that my dorm only had one bathroom for 6 people. This is not that big of a problem as there were other bathrooms at the hostel
Brilliant hostel! Great location and walking diastase to everything. The staff are wonderful and very helpful! The perks of a rooftop pool and peaceful outside area is a great bonus. One of the best hostel I’ve stayed in. Great activities too. Can’t wait to return
Very good place to stay in. Everything was fine apart of the noise in the corridors just in front of the rooms after 11pm when we wanted to sleep no matter whether it was Saturday, Monday or Tuesday.
People woke me up at 3 pm twice. They were shouting in the early morning hours.
The hostel should put the signs in the corridors “Please keep the noise down from 10pm until 7am because many are sleeping”.
The facilities were clean, the staff was helpful, it was well located, lots of cool social events, it had a great vibe
Everything was literally perfect I have nothing to says
A very beautiful environment, well located with all the services we could hope for. The team is charming and helpful, the lunches are fabulous! Thank you for your warm welcome to our group of 18 who were delighted.
Great accommodations and amenities. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Free pasta in the evenings- nice for those travellers on a budget.
Only thing I didn’t like what motion sensor lights in the dorms. When people came in late a bright light would come on, not great if you’re still trying to fall asleep.

One of the nicest hostels I stayed in during my month-long trip. Nice bathrooms, laundry on-site was very convenient and having events at the hostel made it really easy to meet people. Only downside is that it is a good 25 minute walk to the city center however there is a tram right across the street which is very helpful.
The hostel is nicely designed. There are daily special events. Clean environment with super nice staffs! An enjoyable night at the bar!
