YellowSquare Reviews: Florence
YellowSquare Florence provides female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms. We have an easy working space in the shared areas where you can grab a coffee and work at the tables before or after check-in. For daily activities and food, Barmezzo has a restaurant and events every day like karaoke, quizzes, and beerpong. Bargiu is where the cool events happen featuring live music, dj sets and stand-up comedy that brings together locals and travelers. During the summer, you can head up to Barsu, our rooftop pool bar where social parties take place with a view.
This was my first time staying at a hostel and I was rather dubious at first. After my stay here I am now converted! There was an incredible atmosphere at YellowSquare, the staff were friendly, the amenities were plentiful and there was some great events put on too!
I didn’t have a good experience. I stayed for two nights (April 25th and 26th). Both nights, the person sleeping in the top bunk (Room 105, Bed 5) had another person with them who not only stayed but also got up several times to vomit and use the bathroom. It’s a large hostel, and anyone can come and go, which means they don’t have control over these things. The reception staff were friendly, and the hostel was clean, but these kinds of situations make you feel unsafe and ruin the stay.
Comfortable stay!
Absolutely recommend it!!
stop the loud bass on the main floor. people on the second floor hear it til 1130pm every night. sorry, we are not here to play games, we want to see things in Florence and so get sleep so we can do so. just turn the music down, it’s really that simple. also, pool is very cold, seems not heated, that should be advertised.
also, no outside alcohol? ahh…is that written somewhere before we sign up? we are not children, and are allowed to do what we want in our own room. and are you going through my bag of stuff in the public fridge? I can keep what I want in there, and I don’t even believe it’s legal for you to say what I can and cannot have..again, we need transparency from you here.
Overall, my stay was good. The staffs were welcoming at the reception and the rooms are clean.
I travelled to Florence alone, and with the cost of hotel rooms soaring I chose instead to rent a private room at Yellowsquare; it was one of the best decisions of my trip. The staff were incredibly friendly, kind, and inviting; the hostel was clean, hip, and lively without being “too-much” in any way.
There was a feeling of being in a college dorm in the best way possible—bright, exuberant people around at all times but not suffocating, just living their lives parallel to yours. The food at the hostel was underrated (try the Yellow Caesar or the Schiaccata Paesana) and the communal spaces tranquil and relaxed.
I will definitely be staying here and sending friends here when circumstance brings any of us to Florence, and will check out their other locations as well.
We had a great time at this hostel. The beds were comfy, the place was clean. The staff was nice!
This was an absolutely amazing hostel. I find hostels have started becoming a little pricier compared to when I started using them, so I think it’s important that they have activities available and discounts, etc and Yellowsquare def pulls through on all aspects. They even have a free pasta dinner every night. Very impressive. I wish it would have been warm enough to e joy the rooftop pool.
My niece is going to love her hand painted souvenir!! X
This was the first time I had stayed in a hostel and I couldn’t have been more lucky with YellowSquare Florence, the staff were amazing, so welcoming and friendly. The free pasta was a great perk and I made lots of friends in the common area spaces.
I really liked my stay at YellowSquare in Florence. The atmosphere was great, the hostel had nice facilities, it was clean, the staff was really friendly and the organised activities were so nice as well. Especially the cooking class was something I really liked!
everybody wad really nice and everything was so clean! I didn’t stay long but I would have liked it
Great hostel, very clean, kind staff, good activities,
I would very much recommend this hostel to anyone going to Florence 🙂
We like it very much!!!
All was perfect
So many great resources available to guests, such as communal kitchen (with free food!), pool, free pasta each night, books and fun events. The staff were also so kind and accommodating.
This hostel is amazing, it has a perfect acomodation, good bar inside and location really near to trem station and bus stops. One 30min walk separates you from the center of the city, it’s really safe to do these walks inven at night. I really recommend this place.
I stayed with my friend in a mixed shared room and it was our first time in this kind of accommodation, but we could have lived a better experience! Our room mates were so respectful and clean, and the atmosphere created a space that felt almost like home.
The place is super cool, clean and everything is pretty new. There are lockers in the rooms so it feels safe to leave the stuff. It is more or less 20 mins walk to the center
The hostel and the atmosphere there was great. would definitely book again with Yellow square.
At first, i was a bit unsure about the loud social vibe, BUT the staff was amazing, i met lovely people, felt so included, had so much fun and loved the rooms, pasta, roof, everything clean. Honestly don’t know what could have been done better. Booked 2 nights, ended up staying 4:)
The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. The bathrooms clean and tidy. The terrace and pool are great! It is also quite a nice feature with a free pasta-dinner every day.
I had a very nice stay with you! Will repeat 🙂
This hostel is probably one of the best I have stayed in. If you are looking for a social hostel which will allow you to meet great people, this is the place! The free pasta and bar were my favorite part! I would definitely stay again if I were to go back to Florence!
Loved the environment and decorations. Everything was very clean and staff was nice as well. Drinks were a little expensive compared to other hostels I’ve been in but food was well priced!
Was great, surprisingly equipped and clean.
The price I paid was very reasonable and will likely return again soon!
It was a great experience I met some great people and had a lot of fun!
This was my first solo hostel experience and it was great! Everything was clean, decorated nicely and staff was so friendly. Lots of activities for travelers. Downstairs was lovely but my room was quiet. Only downside was the location- the loud street wasn’t awesome and it was a bit of a walk to central Florence, but that’s not anything yellowsquare can really do anything about. And it was fine- I just got a lot of steps in:) welcome drink and free pasta dinner were awesome perks! Would definitely recommend.
Probably the best hostel I ever stayed in. Super clean, super sweet staff and the food was also great! Will be coming back if I have the chance to ☺️
We had so much fun. Great environment and clean.
I really appreciated how Yellowsquare felt like a community filled with likeminded travelers who want to connect. I especially loved the lobby area, and enjoyed getting food and drink from there. It was the perfect place to cowork with others or have fun during game night.
The place was great I had a good time, but it is very clear the target of the place is basically kids (teens and 20s)
I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The staff were super friendly and happy to help, the bed was very comfortable and clean. It’s one of the nicest hostels I have stayed in, and I can highly recommend it. A big plus for organizing extra activities and for the free welcoming drink!
