YellowSquare Reviews: Florence
YellowSquare Florence provides female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms. We have an easy working space in the shared areas where you can grab a coffee and work at the tables before or after check-in. For daily activities and food, Barmezzo has a restaurant and events every day like karaoke, quizzes, and beerpong. Bargiu is where the cool events happen featuring live music, dj sets and stand-up comedy that brings together locals and travelers. During the summer, you can head up to Barsu, our rooftop pool bar where social parties take place with a view.
I like the hostel. The beds was confortably, the bar was fun, the staff was kind, the breakfast a bit expensive, but… I like very much the guitar in the common area, unfortunely I couldn’t play, but it seems like a great idea.
In my view, YellowSquare seems to be a very active hostel. You guys host something everyday that helps in connecting with other people. The staff was super amazing, had a nice interaction with one of them. Cleanliness, my top priority, was there and it was well maintained.
The private room was fine. Clean and simple and cleaned every day. The best part was the international mix of people.
The rooms and bathrooms were clean, as well as the kitchen which had enough space in the fridge to store your food and eat calmly. The staff was nice, and the free pasta every night was a great plus. Easy access to the tram to go to the city center.
Great Hostel! I stayed previously in the YellowSquare Rome and just had the best time so wanted to come to the one in Florence. Great social life, events, bar and free pasta! I met some great people and participated in most events in the evenings. Easy to meet people, loved the rooftop pool and view. Clean facilities. Friendly staff. Perfect place to meet people and make new friends. Would 100% recommend- great location also from the airport can get the tram direct and walk about 3 minutes to the hostel. About a 30 minute walk from the main city. Area felt relatively safe for a solo female traveller. Onto Milan next time to complete the YellowSquare trio!
This place was its own building and it sort of felt like a resort which was great!
The staff were all nice and I liked that you had a welcome drink and they offered free pasta (which I never took advantage of).
The rooms were clean and they have events and activities everyday which is good for younger travellers.
The only negative feedback I had is that the water pressure in my room was terrible. It would barely spit out water when showering. I also got breakfast on my last day and there was a bug crawling around which was not a good sign of the cleanliness of the kitchen.
I’ve had a great experience at this hostel. The rooms surprised me (just like a hotel with a toilet and shower for every room). Also the modern and hygienic experience made it pleasant. On top of that, there was a really nice atmosphere among the guests and I’ve had a real good time.
The experience was really great, the staff was very kind, the rooms were clean and the bathrooms too. The laundromat was a savior and the price was fair.
While being very busy, staff were always friendly and happy to help. It has many facilities and provides many opportunities for guests to interact with new people during events and games. Beds were comfortable and are happy to make more private by providing a curtain (flat sheet) on request.
Such a great hostel, definitely worth it going there. Everyone’s very friendly, there’s free pasta in the evenings and the rooms are big enough to have some privacy. Would definitely go there again.
Excellent hostel – really enjoyed it. In particular:
1) Nice social atmosphere
2) Clean modern rooms and bathrooms – I liked also how they had extra toilets on the ground floor
3) Nice food
4) Amazing rooftop views
I would actually have preferred staying here to a stuffy old hotel in the city centre, if given the choice!
Also can you please open a hostel near Venice!
We had an amazing stay overall, the hostel has a great atmosphere and the dorms were quite comfortable. Great place to meet new people and the perfect location to explore the city from but also enough distance from the city center to not be disturbed at night. The staff really stood out, everybody was very friendly!
Sleeping at Yellowsquare was very convenient. Nice staff, clean rooms. The breakfast was ok for the price.
They provide everything you need and more than most hotels do!
Had a really great stay. Great atmosphere. Would recommend.
I really liked staying at the hostel. The beds are very comfy and it’s close to the city center. The atmosphere of the hostel was very fun, the staff super nice and especially the drinks and the breakfast from the bar was great. I can only recommend to go there (and check out the roof top terrace with a pool!! 🙂 )!
Super nice hostel, sparkling clean and nice fellow people to meet. Staff is so friendly and nice rooftop / common areas
Amazing!
Loved the Events, loved the Pasta. Overall very nice
Hostel was very cool, met some lovely people through the events organised and in the rooms. The rooms were clean and the area was relatively safe, it’s a 20 minute walk from the train station and like 30 minutes from the centre – I love waking so this was great but there’s also trams and buses. Overall very great place to stay while exploring a beautiful city.
Perfect hostel with great facilities, modern design and helpful staff
Nice rooms and atmosphere, only thing that was a bit annoying was the music that was played in bathroom. It went all night but was loud until around 1030 which is a bit annoying
Very clean, friendly and overall very helpful. Lovely place to socialise and make friends
Clean, comfortable and good to meet people!
Location is a bit away from the city center which makes it a bit quiet and nice. The bar and free pasta at night are great. The rooftop pool is a good + in summer and the rooms are clean and confortable. Staff is helpful and friendly and there are a lot of activities scheduled for guests.
Staying at Yellowquare Florence was amazing. From the rooms to the bar and food it was perfect for me. Making friends was easy as a solo traveler and the walk into the city center wasn’t bad at all – even on days I didn’t want to walk the tram was so close it made it even easier to get around.
If was everything perfect! The staff, the cleaning, the events! All good!
The stay was great met so many new people it was crazy. The hostel has the right supply of community activities
Best hotel I’ve stayed at, 10/10
Rooms are clean , quiet ,
There is very good animation
The pool is very nice and clean
We had a great experience here in Florence. 10 out of 10 recommend.
It was such a fun hostel to stay at, the atmosphere was always great and the events put on were fun, the price may be steep but it’s worth every cent. There are a lot of areas to socialise, the pool, bar area and the area out front. Everyone is approachable and it’s very easy to make friends. It also does help as a whole that the staff are a class too. I would highly recommend coming here, and then if you’re going to Rome stay in the yellow square there too, met a good 25 people there who was also in the Florence one too.
Nice place with a swimming pool on the rooftop perfect after a long day!
The staff was so nice and there are different type of activities.
The best hostel I’ve stayed at in my 4 months of travel. So easy to meet other solo traveler’s through the common areas, hostel activities, and rooftop pool area. Comfortable temperature in rooms and comfortable beds, with a clean and working bathroom and shower. No complaints from my 5 night stay.
I was only there for two nights, but it’s probably the prettiest hostel I’ve ever been to. Free pasta is such a good oportunity to meet new people – I had a lot of fun. Would recommend the hostel 10/10. ((:
Is incredible the staff treatment all the time your there. The room is in good condition and also the community areas
Holy water should be colder and the bathroom situation is not perfect but apart from that it was great.
The facilities were excellent including the bonus of a pool with an amazing view of the city. There were plenty of organised events which offered opportunities to try new things and meet new people. Happy hour and free pasta were a great part of the experience also. The rooms were comfortable and clean. They had separate toilets and showers making it easy to work around your room mates, full length mirror, hairdryer, bathroom storage for your products and lockers for your bags. Our room also has a balcony.
I rarely leave reviews for anything, but YellowSquare is something where a review is needed. Those were the best four days in my life. Was it hot? You could go to the pool and swim. Did you want a night read outside? The working bar and the outdoor terrace was there. The women I shared the room were the sweetest girls and we went out to explore the city one morning.
The prices for food and drinks are also reasonable. A huge breakfast for just 10€ is a backpacker’s dream. And the staff… I don’t know their names, but every one of them (especially the bartenders) are the nicest and funniest people you can meet.
Usually I book hostels because I need a bed, since I usually just spend the night there and leave. Here… I actually had moments when I thought what is better – going out or staying in the hostel 😂
Also the accessibility to the centre is amazing – just a 5 minute walk to get the T2 tram 🙂
