YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
– clean and tidy private room
– shower was terrible, very slow water pressure
– breakfast very average
– pool and pool side bar nice, but terrible music played by the hostel manager
– location was ok
– staff were nice but could have been more professional
– asked staff not to clean my room during the day but they did it anyway
The building is new and very modern with all sorts of amenities and activities for the guests.
The staff is VERY VERY nice and helpful and we feel connected with them.
All in all a good hostel. There should be more bathrooms, WCs and showers
Great place
Definitely the nicest and coolest hostel I’ve ever been at, the people were great workers and just other hostel goers which was nice
I don’t think that having a club in the same building is ideal. I stayed two night and barely sleep both nights. The first night there was karaoke night and second day I can feel and hear the club music from bottom floor.
Very nice atmosphere and facility but not a good place for a good sleep.
Staff was super welcoming. The place had so many qualities, the pool, activities, nice bar and restaurant, great location. Felt clean and provided with necessities!
I really enjoyed the awesome look of the hostel. The food and drinks were very good. And the atmosphere was great as well.
Loved my stay at Yellow Square! Very social hostel and the rooftop pool was fantastic. Rooms were clean AB’s air conditioned. Staff were super helpful – would definitely stay again!
Nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Rooftop pool with a beautiful view. Staff was very friendly and helpful
Overall a great time, met many great people and had a lot of fun! Was mostly comfortable but had a few issues with some of the staff. When I expressed discomfort with being coerced into buying alcohol when I did not want it I was told that it was all a joke and that I needed to get over it. When my friend asked about it too she was given a similar response. I was approached later by the same staff member who told me to tell my friend that she was being dramatic and aggressive and needed to back off. They also did not do much to help when a friend was stranded with a dead phone and could not get back on her own. While they told me the part of the city she was in wasn’t great they did not do anything beyond inform me that no taxi services were available, did not provide any alternative solutions. Apart from these interactions I had no other issues with my stay
Perfect
Pretty hot in the rooms, no control of AC.
I was traveling by myself and had a Great experience at this hostel.
The place is beautiful, the people are awesome and they have a lot of activities to do.
The rooms are super confortable and the beds as well.
Totally recommend this place.
It’s a little far from the main atractivos of Florence, but it’s just a 10/15 minutes walk.
There is a bar and food to order at the hostel at a super convenient price.
I would totally come back!!
The staff was very friendly and the room was nice. Towel was provided for a small fee (1 euro) and you get a free reusable bag and ear plugs. The hostel had a good atmosphere and you could make friends with people from all backgrounds.
Yellow square Florence was very accommodating and in close location to the city center! The staff was readily available for any questions all the time!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Yellowsquare. It did not start in the best possible way as my credit card wasn’t being read and they made me pay in cash. As a tourist, you carry very limited cash so it was stressful. But after that incident, it was smooth sailing. The rooms were nice, the roommates better. The room had lockers for our bags and also a small locker by the bed. As an Indian, I was also thankful for the jet spray in the washroom 🙂 There were some event every evening though I couldn’t attend most of them as I was in the city. Overall an extremely nice experience.
Was happy with everything except because of the lack of public transport, it was dangerous to be having to walk so far from the nightlife back home. Strongly recommend providing a ride home from the clubs at 4am so that your young females staying don’t feel unsafe. If the hostel is going to be so far from town, and it being a youth hostel full stop, there needs to be a safe journey home. And not for some crazy price either considering the price of the hostel is steep.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful! There’s lots of activities.
The hostel is only a few minutes away from the tram station. The building is new and the interior design is really nice. There’s a lift and a pool. My room (4 beds) was spacious. The lockers were big enough. The free luggage storage was great.
Unfortunately my room was very dirty. Dirty sheets, dirty bathroom (didn’t look like it was properly cleaned in a while). I got a dirty sheet and a duvet without a clean duvet cover.
It was really loud at night (lots of other guests partying in other rooms).
There were no mosquito nets on the windows so my room was filled with mosquito at night (thanks to a roommate who left the windows open).
Beautiful facilities, super friendly staff, fun and engaging group activities. The rooms are comfy and spacious, the rooftop pool was beautiful and the bar area was so welcoming. I had an amazing stay here.
A great place to stay, good vibe and clean.
Just a comment about the price: I find it a bit unethical that women must pay more for female-only dorms. I understand that it might be a bit more complicated logistically, but we shouldn’t have to have the financial weight of being scared to stay with men in our dorms. Just a thought, but I know your hostel is not the only one to do this.
Lovely hostel, friendly people and great facilities would definitely recommend to anyone who stays in Florence!
Yellowsquare was perfect because everyone there was young and looking to have fun! 10/10 would return!
All the staff were so lovely and helpful, the hostel was very clean and i found it pretty easy to meet people and make friends which is something i was worried about as a solo traveller. They offered breakfast lunch and dinner however they didn’t seem to have much dairy free food so i could never eat there, would be nice to see there dairy free food options expand 🙂
Really enjoyed my stay
Pool is great and really social for guests
Views great
Clean and modern
Breakfast was good
The facilities were better than any other hostel. There is even a club in the hostel. There are a lot of activities during the week.
No bed curtains
Hello
The room was very cleaned – shower and toilet was to small for 8 Persons.
I used the staying only for business . For me it was important to connect with guest .
But in case I will stay privat longer it would be nice to check also the age before you select the room mates 🙂
There are a lot of volunteers working here – I recommend to make a tour in the city to explore.
Regarding the breakfast it was only for the American Guest I recommend to make also something for the Europe People.
Rate for washing should be cheaper than 4€
For this reason I can give only 5 stars instead of 10.
Also I booked 7 nights and don’t get any discount which was also not nice at all …
Thanks and see you soon

The music at the bar/reception is quite loud, that makes it difficult to understand the important details when arriving.
Rooftop pool looked exciting but I had no time to try it. Easy to get in contact with other young grown ups, several activities offered. It’s possible to have breakfast and other food, decoration fits the target group.
Bathroom (floor) of 4-girls-room was not as tidy as I would have wished. Thin wall of the bathroom which allows for every sound to come through.
Curtains make the whole room dark, that’s good.
For the locker you need to bring your own lock if I understood correctly. But it felt safe to keep it open as well.
Did not want to walk from the train station on my own as I wasn’t sure if it would be safe. Public transport is good and cheap (1,70€) compared to my home country.
There are restaurants in the neighborhood (few tourists).
Our stay was great however some things could have been better. We could hear whenever someone was passing in the corridor, light came through the curtains in the morning and the shower pressure was very low
Very interesting accommodation culture, the hotel provides a wealth of activities, so that the guests can play together! I love throwing neon make-up disco parties! Of course the rooftop pool and view is the best night, it’s amazing! I love you much! Hope to have the opportunity to stay again!
The art in this place and the dope layout of the rooms was awesome! It made our travels that much more enjoyable. We loved that the registration desk was connected to the bar, and we love the activities that were offered through the hostel. We love love loved our stay, and shout out to the people working there that made it even better!
Very nice place, super friendly people and staff, DELICIOUS breakfast and so many fun activities to do through the hostel! Overall very happy with my stay here, would definitely recommend!
The hostel is located central enough for the city center to be reachable by a medium walk (the public transport is located close by too, just havent figured out how to use it).
The rooms are spacious, the beds comfy (and the ability to add a curtain is a great touch). The bar staff and drinks are excellent (and pretty affordable). The community kitchen was also quite big, although some dishes were short in availabilty (like glasses).
We didnt get to use the rooftop pool due to the weather but if the standards there match with the overall look, it should be great!
I loved staying at Yellow Square Florence as it had so many great accommodations, everything was clean and the staff was generally amazing. I wish I could remember names…
Unfortunately it wasn’t advertised as a “party” hostel which is very much what it felt to be like during the days I was there. This influences lots of younger kids to stay here to get their party on, which is great. However for some who are looking for a quiet place to enjoy wine at the hostel after a long day of traveling or visiting the city there’s little to no options. The music is too loud to even try and relax and the partiers keep volume to a maximum…often louder than the music.
This isn’t a huge complaint but it is the key reason the rating isn’t higher. A quiet place, like the garden after hours for people who just want to sit and chat peacefully, be on the phone with family, or just wind down before bed would be ideal. Still not as quiet as most would like but would be better than the latter.
The room we had was much too small for 6 people in comparison to other hostels. It was also very dirty. We were stopped and bugged by a staff member as we were walking through the lobby because he wanted us to partake in the karaoke party that was happening and that was not needed.
