YellowSquare Reviews: Milan
Located in the heart of the Porta Romana district, YellowSquare Milan offers female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms. Instead of a formal office, we have The Baretto, a laptop-friendly space where you can work, study, and eat during the day before it turns into an aperitivo and social meeting spot. Salone14 is our events hub in Milan, it's a local 'it-spot' where travelers and locals meet for live music, DJ sets, stand-up comedy, karaoke, and creative projects, it's more like a nightlife without leaving the hostel.
was nervous about staying a hostel for the first time but yellowsquare was wonderful. i found it to be better then many hotels ive styaed at. on arival we were given free drink vouchers. the rooms were clean and well furnished, we had AC control and the bathrooms were great. there were many amenities on site as well. i would definitely recomend and will be looking at staying at yellowsquares in other cities as well.
I enjoyed my stay at Yellowsquare Milano! It was a great experience to start my trip on.
The beds were comfortable, clean, and had curtains. The wifi worked well and the guest kitchen was massive. The breakfast was really good and relatively cheap.
The Hostel is situated in a great area. The room was great and clean, it was just enough to be there for the nights. I liked the breakfast, it was tasty and far more than enough. I’ve got to know a lot of people and I will be always grateful for the experience what this hostel gave me.
Even though I am a 41-year-old man who had never stayed in a hostel before, this experience completely changed the way I see this type of accommodation when traveling.
From the well-organized check-in process and the flexibility of changing beds to the cleanliness of the rooms, everything contributed to a very positive experience.
Maybe I was lucky, or maybe these are simply their values: cleanliness, comfort, a quiet atmosphere in the rooms, respectful guests, a great vibe in the lobby, enjoyable parties, and very open-minded people.
Overall, it was a genuinely pleasant experience, and I would definitely consider staying in a hostel again.
We had an amazing stay and truly felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very well organized. What made our experience extra special was that the hotel kindly upgraded our room for free after knowing we were newlyweds, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always happy to help. The location was also perfect and convenient for everything we needed. Thank you for making our honeymoon trip even more memorable. We would definitely love to come back again!
I love Yellowsquare this is my third time staying with them and my second staying in Milan. Great stay if you want something cheaper. The dorms were good and clean, the bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were cleaned everyday. I loved the added curtains in the female forms which they didn’t have before. The hostel is a vibe and the staff is very nice. The only complaint I have is with the kitchen cleanliness since it was a bit dirty this time. As well as the fridge (was was very small for all the people staying) and it was dirty too. I would suggest to have someone deep clean the kitchen since relying on the guests for is not very sanitary or wise overall. Other that that, good stay, they have late night activities but I wasn’t very interested.
As with the hostel in Athens, this is an ideal place to stay. Offers everything at great price.
It was really clean and the amount of events that were going on was really cool.
Staff friendly, clean hostel and nice food. The stand up comedy performer man was a debbie downer though. Wouldn’t recommend socialising if he is there (he came out the womb frowning :/ )
Staff were friendly, beds were comfy and an overall good atmosphere
YellowSquare was not quite what we hoped for but that’s partly down to our own research (or rather lack thereof). We were under the impression this is a “proper” hotel, turns out it’s more of a hostel, with every up and downside that comes with. The main problem was the super thin walls, it’s as if they don’t even exist, and many of the guests don’t respect the sleep of others either. On the upside: the place is very clean, the vibes are great, the staff are very nice and the food is good!
It was very good! Only the toilettes smelled little bit in there
This hostel is amazing. Great location. Great activities. Beds are very comfortable and private.
Stayed at YellowSquare Milan for a night, it was a good experience overall. I like that they provide bracelets for guests, also serve as a souvenir. Rooms are spacious and location is good.
The staff are do friendly and the common area is so lively and young. Best choice ever

ive stayed in a lot of hostels all around europe and this was definitely one of the best ones the activities they organize are on another level i had so much fun both with the people and the events they even did a comedy night which was such a great experience and karaoke as well honestly dont know what else to say but i definitely recommend it
Dear YellowSquare Milano Team,
I would like to sincerely thank you for the wonderful experience during my stay.
I truly appreciated your warm hospitality, the professionalism of your staff, and the overall quality of the service provided. The room was very comfortable, and all the services offered met a high standard that made my stay enjoyable and stress-free.
It was a pleasure staying with you, and I will not hesitate to recommend your hostel to others. If I return to Milan in the future, I will definitely book again with you.
Thank you once again for everything.
Kind regards,
ALAEDDINE JEBARI
My experience was the best! I had a really good time, the room and toilet was really good and I could get new international friends!
Evrything was super nice and as described! Great vibes, would stay again!
The best hostel ive stayed in. Its sociable, clean and the staff are really helpful.
I stayed in milan for 4 days and ran into an issue where I stupidly left my phone in the Uber but it was handed in and the staff knew who it belonged to and saved it for me when I went down to ask if anything had been handed in. Very grateful and the staff where not judgemental at all.
Plenty of events and plenty of things to do and is very secure. I think when I go to Rome I will be staying at the yellowsquare there and another’s dotted around Europe because it was fantastic. Definitely a returning customer! 🙂
the staff is so warm, and quick reponse.
I stayed at this hostel in Milan with a friend, and we were really pleasantly surprised. Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations since it was my first time staying in a hostel, but it easily exceeded a hotel.
Hello,
we stayed in your hostel for three nights. We had booked private room for two persons. The room was tady and bathroom was very clean. In the room there is a televison too!
The bed was confortable.
The guys from staff in reception/ bar were wonderful! They were nice, helfull and very cheerfull.
I appreciate very good breakfast menu, it was so delicious and big portions!
I like your eveningprograms!
If we will go to Milano again, we know where to stay!
Thank all team members you’re super
Very clean, comfortable, enough privacy
Well located hostel, very friendly staff, clean building, private room for 2 people had everything it needed.
The staff was incredibly kind, perfect location, and the rooms and bed were pristine. One of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed at.
Clean bedrooms, easy checkin, comfortable bed, nice café and bar at reception, many activities, convenient kitchen. Staff available and helpful. Price was reasonable given the winter Olympic time.
This was a great stay with lovely staff and a super sociable environment. Made a bunch of great friends! Would recommend
We stayed at Yellowsquare Milan for the Olympics for 1 night, and it was a great stay! Super lively and a lot going on and attentive staff. Great rooms with clean and nice bathrooms. Very close to metro as well which was ideal!
Yellow Square is an innovator in the youth hostel sector, offering, for example, a safe for each bed in the dormitories, daily entertainment, very friendly and professional staff, clean facilities, and a central location in Milan, close to the metro at Porta Romana and to the tram and within walking distance of the city center: Duomo.
It was a very clean property with enough space for storage and plenty of events for guests.
It was the first hostel experience for me and i think i could not do better. I was a bit scared to come because took a room for 4 people and didn’t know anyone in the city. But on the way to the hotel met a restaurant trapezino, entered inside and was surprised by the vibe. Understood that the area was quite calm and that fun. In the hostel room had really amazing neighbours, made friends with one fo them. The staff was very helpful and effective, cool space, liked having the kitchen and it was a real bonus. Lots of activities for those who want. Cleaning every day and really good bed sheets. The bed space is small but its a hostel and the dortoir for 4 people. I really appreciate my stay and will definitely recommend it in future. Thank ytou!
Excellent location, very clean, everything was wonderful over our week there!
Hostel bed had bed bugs
Amazing experience. The staf was super nice and helpful overall, the people we met very nice as well and all the hostel activities end up boosting the connection between all hostellers.
The common areas such as the common kitchen were all super tidy and clean.
Felt very safe during the entire stay
Overall 10/10 experience, better than expected
Such a fun hostel with enough to keep you around on their premises. They have a very good bar and restaurant, a community kitchen where you can cook your meals or even hang out with people and their own events area. They had a very fun karaoke night on one of the days that we were there and the atmosphere was electric!
The rooms were really clean and the bathroom was well-maintained. However, the 4-bed private room that we booked was quite small. Barely any space to open up 2 suitcases on the floor and move around. But didn’t matter too much since we only used the room to get ready for the day and then sleep at the end.
