YellowSquare Reviews
YellowSquare is more than a hostel; it’s an international community designed for travelers who want to connect, work, and hang out. Across our locations in Italy and Greece, we provide female-only dorms, shared dorms, and private ensuite rooms, alongside working spaces and daily activities. Definitely not a boring hostel. From working over a coffee to evening events in our venues, we create a active atmosphere where locals and travelers meet and make friends. Every YellowSquare is a gateway to the city, focused on social vibes and the right place to meet people.
was nervous about staying a hostel for the first time but yellowsquare was wonderful. i found it to be better then many hotels ive styaed at. on arival we were given free drink vouchers. the rooms were clean and well furnished, we had AC control and the bathrooms were great. there were many amenities on site as well. i would definitely recomend and will be looking at staying at yellowsquares in other cities as well.
I was surprised by how spacious, clean the room and all the facilities were (in contrast to the hostels I have stayed at). Ample storage. Good soundproof room and black-out curtain. My roommates were friendly and respectful. Love the designs and layout (inside and outside). I would stay with YellowSquare again. Grazie mille!!
The AC in the room was so noisy I could not sleep most of the time.
Beds were clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped and clean. Shower was dirty and often cold. Social life was great. The free pasta each night was a big plus.
Clearly I booked in a wrong place because of my age. 50 years old. The oldest guest had 30 years old as much. Atmosphere of College university. I read late that the maximum age is 45 years old .
AC was broken. Room was very humid and had a poor smell coming from the bathroom with no circulation in the room.
I liked the hostel but I returned home sick. I Asked the reception to change the AC temperature because i was freezing (was 18c the whole stay), there was no remote so I was told it would be fixed by morning which didn’t happen. I caught a cold after that.
staff was amazing . place was great. safe. yellow pub was cherry on top. loved it
Such a good Hostel experience. The Hostel bar across the street was so nice and the staff always very friendly. The free pasta every night and discount for guests was a plus! I would definitely stay here again, and recommend everyone else to as well!
I enjoyed my stay at Yellowsquare Milano! It was a great experience to start my trip on.
Felt super safe here, nice staff, my bed was comfortable, and everything was nice and clean. The beds were made out of metal so if you’re moving it your bed it made a lot of noise which was kind of akward in the morning when you’re trying to not wake anyone else. But would definitely recommend, met the nicest people as well!!
Enjoyed my stay at yellowsquare during my time in Athens, location is great and the staff are super friendly! Only downsides were the construction works going on right outside, and there was no duvet upon check-in which took a couple of days to get sorted
The beds were comfortable, clean, and had curtains. The wifi worked well and the guest kitchen was massive. The breakfast was really good and relatively cheap.
I spent 4 nights at the hostel and all was great ! The room was clean with all the necessary to sleep well (In the dormitories there are curtains , lights, lockers…)
The staffs are so nice. We arrived at night, I was supposed to be in a mixed group however the smell of sweat inside the room was unbearable. I told the reception abt it and they happily switched me to a women’s room and its clean and fantastic. I got a nice sleep, the AC is nice, the water is hot and its very near to the Termini station. I will definitely come back and get to experience the internship they offer as well.
The place has a good enough location, te installations are comfortable and the staff is really nice. I specially LOVED that they let us use the installations after check out because we could shower and rest before catching our next train. Would recommend and would go back!
YellowSquare was so accommodating, fun, and super welcoming!
I’ll remember my stay at Yellowsquare as one of the most unforgettable travel experiences I’ve had so far. The hostel really stands out for its rooftop view, its colorful range of activities and services and the inspiring community you can meet from all over the world. Highly recommended!
There isn’t any hangers in the bathroom other than for towels, and there is no curtain for the place you can get changed. The stairs to the bed is very comfortable it hurts the feet. And the first step is very high from the ground
My first stay in YellowSquare. I’m female and stayed in the 6 person mixed dorm. Definitely recommend getting the attached bathroom access. The beds were very sturdy and private – I’m 6’4 and fit comfortably. My suite mates were so fun and we enjoyed the rooftop sunsets and activities offered. It really made my stay that much better. Thank you YS!
The hostel was great, and very welcoming with a great social atmosphere to meet other travelers and have a great view of the Parthenon and breakfast selection. The rooms had a curtain on the bed and a safe, so was a great welcoming place!
the hostel was really clean, the staff and other guests were super nice! me and my friends booked a room together but sadly weren’t able to have beds all in the same room, which was really disappointing. they gave us free towels and locks tho! in the end it was fine. another thing that happened was, that apparently some staff member left the windows in my room open and locked them so we couldn’t close them ourselves. everything was fine until abt 20 mosquitoes came into our room over night. i couldn’t sleep at all and i went to the front desk many times to ask for a solution or something. sadly, he couldn’t close the windows due to it being a women only room and it being like 4am, which i definitely respect, but they sadly weren’t able to help in any other way. so, if you stay at this hostel, BRING MOSQUITO SPRAY!
it was an unfortunate situation and the staff tried their best which i appreciate! the pool was amazing!
Best hostel I’ve ever stayed at!
Overall, Yellowsquare is a good hostel. Clean, nice bathrooms, really good rooftops with view of Acropolis. There are some events happening on the rooftop, such as DJs playing and so forth – but as a solo traveller I lacked some more activities or attempts to bring people together. I ended up sitting much alone, would be great if the hostel organised a pub crawl or something similar.
The Hostel is situated in a great area. The room was great and clean, it was just enough to be there for the nights. I liked the breakfast, it was tasty and far more than enough. I’ve got to know a lot of people and I will be always grateful for the experience what this hostel gave me.
Even though I am a 41-year-old man who had never stayed in a hostel before, this experience completely changed the way I see this type of accommodation when traveling.
From the well-organized check-in process and the flexibility of changing beds to the cleanliness of the rooms, everything contributed to a very positive experience.
Maybe I was lucky, or maybe these are simply their values: cleanliness, comfort, a quiet atmosphere in the rooms, respectful guests, a great vibe in the lobby, enjoyable parties, and very open-minded people.
Overall, it was a genuinely pleasant experience, and I would definitely consider staying in a hostel again.
Yellow Square doesn’t dissapoint. The room was spacious and clean – exception made for the shower space that was very small. The bar is lively and the staff is very nice and helpful. It’s the third stay here and i don’t think it’ll be the last.
I was upgraded from an 8-bedroom to a 4, the room was nice, with a little terrace, lockers and a private bathroom.
The rooftop was amazing, the view too, and the events were pretty cool.
Only negative thing is that they didn’t give me an blanket when I asked for it, even though my roomates had one. I was very cold and got sick because I only had a think sheet.
I had a pleasant stay at YellowSquare Florence. The atmosphere was lively, friendly, and perfect for meeting other travelers. The property was clean, well maintained, and conveniently located.
A special thank you to Linda at reception, who was extremely kind and helped me with my luggage as I have a back issue. Her support was greatly appreciated. I would also like to mention the housekeeping staff member who cleaned my room (unfortunately I do not know their name). They were very professional and did an excellent job throughout my stay.
There are a couple of areas that could be improved. The entrance is not very luggage-friendly, as there are only stairs and no easy access for guests with heavy bags or mobility issues. Additionally, when it started raining, there was no option to rent or borrow an umbrella, which would have been very helpful for travelers.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hostel.
Very clean, it’s near to the station, the people of the hostel espectacular, talk different languages, and the free pasta love it.
This was my first time in Athens, and I loved having YellowSquare as my base to explore the city. The hostel is located a short walk away from Monastiraki square and subway station, there are many bars and restaurants nearby, and all the main sights are within walking distance. The lobby and other common areas were clean, inviting and well designed. The rooftop is amazing, watching the sunset over Acropolis with a free welcome drink on the evening of my arrival was priceless. I stayed in a 4 bed mixed dorm, the room had a balcony which was a great bonus, the bed was comfy and private and the bathroom very clean. As a solo female I felt completly safe in the area around the hostel. Bonus tip: the famous Diporto taverna is located just around the corner from the hostel, make sure to check it out.
I had a really wonderful stay at YellowSquare Rome. The atmosphere was lively, friendly, and perfect for solo travelers. The hostel was clean, well-organized, and felt very safe, even as a female traveler. I especially loved the social vibe — it was easy to meet people from different countries and enjoy the common areas together.
The location was also very convenient, close to the station and easy to reach major ,attractions. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, and the staff were always welcoming and helpful. It honestly made my time in Rome much more enjoyable.
I originally booked 1 night and stayed for 2 more in the end. Great hostel, stunning roof top terrace, fantastic program in the evening and met lovely people from all over the world during my stay. Super social hostel. Would always return! <3
That just was amazing, the PeopleSoft skill are just amazing.
Everything was great
We had an amazing stay and truly felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very well organized. What made our experience extra special was that the hotel kindly upgraded our room for free after knowing we were newlyweds, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always happy to help. The location was also perfect and convenient for everything we needed. Thank you for making our honeymoon trip even more memorable. We would definitely love to come back again!
As with the hostel in Athens, this is an ideal place to stay. Offers everything at great price.
Amazing hostel with a great vibe! Super friendly staff, clean rooms, fun events, and perfect for solo travelers. Met amazing people from around the world. One of the best stays in Florence — highly recommended!
All the yellow square hostels are nice, but Florence really stands out. The rooftop pool, the large terrace, the club in the basement and all the activities organized by the interns. The amazing was really great
I love Yellowsquare this is my third time staying with them and my second staying in Milan. Great stay if you want something cheaper. The dorms were good and clean, the bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were cleaned everyday. I loved the added curtains in the female forms which they didn’t have before. The hostel is a vibe and the staff is very nice. The only complaint I have is with the kitchen cleanliness since it was a bit dirty this time. As well as the fridge (was was very small for all the people staying) and it was dirty too. I would suggest to have someone deep clean the kitchen since relying on the guests for is not very sanitary or wise overall. Other that that, good stay, they have late night activities but I wasn’t very interested.
